its good dax video but its would be very helpful if u explain the written dax and functionalty of each function used in it TQ... in measure you worte sumx function,for a beginner we dont know what is the use of Sumx..... how can one understand the total dax write ... just shared my thoughts... TQ

man if 15percent discount given on each pizza then while calculating the revenue u need to multiply with 0.85 not 0.15. it gave me so much trouble. but overall great job with the tutorial. learnt a lot

Hi, no i think you might have referred to a different year . In the video we are using the year 2022 and 1st Jan 2022 is showing as 7, which is correct because it was a Saturday. Hope this helps!
I was trying to create a profit % for each item, based on date slicer, accross different date ranges like profit % for each item for current week, last week, current month, last month, YTD and custom date range from date slicer. Was unable to do. Please make a video for this.
Hi! How did you merge the two tables of sem1 score and sem 2 score, when im trying, there are 48 rows instead of 12, im guessing the similar subjects rows are getting repeated in the merged table
Hi, I think you must have skipped a step. In the video we are merging 2 columns within the same table and then finally using that merged column to utilize RELATEDTABLE to get required information from 2nd table.
Hi, Sorry for the delayed response. Yes adding or subtracting days is very simple. You dont have to use any inbuilt functions. Just write "PizzaSales[Date] + 1" or "PizzaSales[Date] -1". This new column will add or subtract 1 day from the original date column. Change that 1 to any number you like. Hope this helps!
Hey Sajit Simon...thanks for this top tutorial on Power BI DaX. I am not sure if I am right but at 45:51 onwards you feed the argument for Column 4 that: IF(PizzaSales[Sales] >=10..... Shouldn't it be either "IF(PizzaSales[Price_USD]>=10" OR "IF(PizzaSales[Sales]>=100" ?
Hi, I don't know whether I understood your question or not, but the main intent of this was to just show how to use IF along with AND, &&, OR, ||. So consider this as a blueprint with which you can create your own personal logic. Let me know if you meant to ask something else!
@@pivotalstats So at 45:46 you start explaining to us about the mashup with IF with AND, OR, && logics. Here for the example you use IF(PizzaSales[Sales] >=10... so 10 is too low a number for [Sales] so I was wondering.... were you actually referring to the [Price_USD]? Shouldn't it be "IF(PizzaSales[Price_USD]>=10. Or if it was [Sales] that you were actually referring to then shouldn't it be "IF(PizzaSales[Sales]>=100"? Hope you got my question? 🙂
hi tank you for your video pleas i need your help in a project i have two fact tables and i want calculate a KPI using DAX this KPI is the result of the devision of two columns one from the first fact table and the other from the other fact table but the probleme is that those fact tables are not related and i cant related them, but they have some sheard dimension tables, pleas tell me how can i calculate this KPI ,i have done manu search in the internet but i did not find the answeer ?

Hi, trust me, no one can memorize all of them at the first go. Use this video as a reference guide. After using these a couple of times, you will automatically know which dax to use in which scenario.
Please Correct me if I am wrong, but shouldn't the Function at 7:05 be RevDiscounted = SUMX(PizzaSales, ((PizzaSales[Sales] * PizzaSales[Price_USD])*.85)). Since the store ran a 15% discount so the pirce should be 85% of its initial price. Sorry I have not gone through the entire video at this point, but this doubt came to mind as soon as I saw this.
