Saludos!

Excellent video Ruth. I have a question. I am in a project where i have to transform a excel report to power Bi. However, i want to keep all the past report data in the power bi file and start using the power bi functions from the next period. In excel, i use to copy past value and drag the formula to the next period so that my previous info stay in the report and the formula takes the next period data into calculation. In power BI how can i do that when my data are going to change every week?

Thank you Ruth. I did not get why the Parallelperiod function sums up the whole year. . Will it always sum up a year? Does it sum up one one level higher?
@MarkCBB86

ok so, ParrallelPeriod removed the filter context in the table where DateAdd used the filter context? If we had a full year in 1998 on a year level we would get the same amounts?

This is great Video however, I have a question. If we are in 15/05/2021 and need to compare to 2020, Dateadd will give you the result for entire month of May 2020. When we go line by line in Power BI , it will show the data from 2020/01/01 to 2020/05/15 but the total for the previous year will be from 2020/01/01 to 2020/05/31 which is very weird. How do we solve that?

So DATEADD() will act similar to SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR() in this case when YEAR is selected as argument ,right ?
@CurbalEN
@CurbalEN 6 лет назад
Yes it will, I wonder if sameperiodlastyear is sintax sugar for dateadd, Year.... /Ruth
