I dont think Dax is complaining. I think he's just saying men are taken for granted and get no appreciation because most women dont understand what men go through. This is just to raise awareness of why the suicide rate of men is super high & get the message out there coz it aint talked about at all.

I really appreciate y'alls reaction and view on this topic. So many men feel obligated to carry the weight, the stress, the transgressions of his world. Society has normalized men being this machine that's not supposed to show emotion or feelings. As men we have to understand that God is there to take that weight from us to allow us to continue on our path of righteousness. If we allow the trees to stand in the way of our forest, we'll never reach the full potential that God has to offer us. I've been there and I mean recently. I broke down to my my wife about 2 years ago and told her I was broken. I wept and sobbed to her. She embraced me and my emotions. Since that day I've given it all to God and the stress instantly melted off my back. Thank y'all so much for what y'all do!

First I love the video however I respect your thoughts but the comment that the child talks to the mom and the mom talks to the dad then the man talk to God is not really the case in this video. What you said only works if the woman supports the man. So with this song he is talking about the lack of support and worth a man get from his own wife, but required to give support to her. Yes God should be present within the household but saying men talk to God, take the responsibility and obligation of the woman's role in a mans mental health and happiness. This song his about how woman as a whole have failed at their role and it is the normal that we expect less from them as they expect more from us. (Based on this song). Also with that comment that you stated, let's say that was accurate, then why would a man want to get married or be in the relationship, bc if he is handling everything on his own (hard stuff) why not just keep it a 1 on 1 conversation with a man and God. Per society has molded a lot of woman to think that a man is love under the condition that he can support and provide. So we have stipulations out on us. This song was talking about a generation curse were men are taught how to treat a woman, but a woman is only taught what she should expect from a man and not how to treat a man. The head is the one that provides reassurance, take on the emotional cares of those they lead. You are so correct. Yes childern take most of their problems to mom and if necessary to dad. But the mom has to be that one since the dad will have to provide and be away. Right about the woman will go to her head and the bible says the head of the man is Christ. He set the example in the way he dealt with his disciples and the example to how we deal with our wives and each other. But many men will avoid looking and learning those examples even though we are reassured that he will give us the peace and patience we need to deal with our wives and situations in life. It doesn't negate the woman or any caring about each other plight in the marriage. But since each have such and emotional weight on their on plate dealing with so much emotion from each other and the childern could and can become over whelming.

God has nothing to do with this song, because Dax is an artist that is talking about something very specific that has nothing to do with bronze age culture but 21st centurry culture. Dax talks about how "no one cares about our broken heart but what we provide inside that house." If your god wants to be part of this story, then it needs to be more than just a cultural story like the Jedi. Religions are just an excuse to be part of a cultural narrative that stretches through out recorded history to address our fear of death. We like being part of a narrative that stretches through the ages so that we dont become forgotten. But the problem with a 1st century culture is that it has 1st century cultural values that is literally holding humanity back. We've outgrown it and claiming to be religious just tells people who not to sit next to on the bus to work. "Hey have you met jesus?" "No have you met the Jedi?" kind of embarrassing as a 21st century adult to talk about. We've out grown religion as something culturally positive to wear on your sleeve and its the religious' fault this is the case because they cant keep their favorite toy to themselves and out of politics, school boards, bedrooms, libraries, etc. There's never been a single recorded theocracy in history that anyone would claim was a successful for human wellbeing because once you claim that you are doing the will of a god and the goal of the good is managing this god, the goal of human wellbeing is irrelevant towards that goal because god is what matters, not the stewardship of your fellow man. There's literally nothing that a religious person couldnt justify because of "god said so" or "this is the will of god". At least when your moral system is tied to the well being of humanity, you have to answer to humanity when you fail at this. God is your excuse to have a moral system that you never have to be held accountable to and it shows.

Sorry, just have a hard time buying off your situation compared to mine or others. Let's talk about facts. Living in a RV and on your wife's parents property, is a lot different, than a man whose family would be on the street if they didn't work long hours everyday or a man who has really no one and fights battles within all the time, just to wake up disappointed because they have. I have to partially disagree with your assessment. I am a god-fearing person and i understand what it means to give it to God, however! your wife and my wife and a few other select few are some good supportive and faithful women but I know and have some very close friends who DO NOT have a woman like this. It's hard to see God when your partner who is supposed to love, honor and cherish you for life and forever completely disregards you because you can't provide for one reason or another or life happens and what not! We get together as boys and we talk about what we can't talk to our spouses about. Don't get me wrong i talk to God everyday but he inspires me to try to talk to my brothers and my friends who understand what it's like to be a man! My relationship with my wife is great but there are things that she does not understand and never will just like there are things about women that I will never understand. Some men don't believe in God, or they did at one time but PTSD, TBI or some kind of mental struggle has kept them from believing and so to say all men should complain to God is a blanket statement that does not fix all at least not right away.
