I dedicated this to my husband and instantly started crying because he is such a tough, strong man who provides for his family and manages over our church during the week in the homeless. That is his full-time job. I just recently lost a friend of suicide two days ago. I'm a wreck and he's holding everything together and comforting me at the same time. I'm absolutely an emotional wreck but my man, my amazing awesome man is helping me stay strong because he's the most amazing man I've ever met and I dedicate this beautiful song to him

As a father I struggle hard with finding the correct balance between working tons of overtime to provide a upbringing much better than my own or spending more time with my son. I experienced what’s it like to be a man when my wife was rushed to the ER because of septic shock. When they let me come in, I seen she was on life support, and the doctors were not able to tell me if she would live through it. They had me step outside of the room. I stood there shaking, and stunned. Down the hall a woman was crying because her husband was in a motorcycle accident and I heard them tell her he will live. What got to me there were several staff members consoling her, hugging her, telling her it will be ok. They gave her a chair, tissues and a cold hand towel. I never once was consoled. Not even a head nod, a hand on the shoulder, asked if I was okay, no chair, no telling me that it will be ok. I really could have used a hug… the woman I’ve loved for 30 years was dying, and no one, not even family members, my grown kids knew what level of pain I held in . I didn’t want any attention because I wanted them to just think about my wife. I couldn’t burden anyone else with my emotions, in fact, I had to be the rock when no one else could. She did live, after 3 months in the hospital. After work I’m her care giver…. It’s been like that for almost 2 years. No one offers to give me a break or even help me out… it’s expected of me. I’ve sat in my truck slamming my fists on the steering wheel, in anger, and then I sob… I often feel so alone, even in a crowd.

Cool fact about this video, is none of the people in the video were actors. These were all real men, portraying their real jobs. Dax went back to KS where he went to college and found locals and added them to the video. Makes the video even hit harder, when you know those are real-men portraying real emotions. Fantastic reaction! Amazes me when I see reactions to this where people don't cry. I've heard it a dozen times now I still get emotional every time.

Men lucky enough to have friends open up to their boys where they can be safe and supported. 99% of the time if a man is emotional to his woman, he loses respect, attractiveness, and it is used against him whenever there is an argument of she is having a bad day. She also typically disparages him to all of her girlfriends as well. Men typically are not taught to not express emotion, we learn by experience. Sadly, a lot of that experience is trauma inflicted by women we trusted with out vulnerability.

I thank you for your review and honesty. I know, as a single mother, that watching your kids watch you can be the hardest moments in life. I'm expected to have it all together, too not need a man, to not be lonely or sad or nothing more to any man out there than the one thing they want that i don't put out. I know what you mean about feeling replaceable... this whole world is a throw away world, nothing is fixed, just replaced. You, me... hell my kids don't even want to be with either parent, they just want out and how do we deal with that all in our own? I'm blessed that their dad and I at least can co-parent most the time... but it doesn't equal a marriage or a friend or a hug when you need one.
