As a veteran this track has broken me. I fought through the PTSD, but I lost brother's who decided it was better to end it. Veterans you are not alone, keep pushing forward. This generation needs you more then ever.

Older Army Vet here and when I first heard this song I didn't realize how close to the surface this is.I wanted all women to hear it and listen and understand. Life is hard when you carry the weight as expected every single day. My mother said to support your wife's feelings and dreams above my own. Tell her only what she needs to know is what my father told me. Sometimes it hard being on that wall but I do it proudly. Sometimes its hard when the hard times come which are more often than not it seems. The Army taught us to complete the mission so my family has always been mine. Keep Strong Brother you got it!

Hey brother, My whole family are Veterans. My 70yr old mother was a Marine, My father was a Green Beret Vet in Vietnam rescuing POW's. (literally Rambo), Brother an AirBorne Army Ranger, and I myself was in for a short time. My father with PTSD and Alcohol held a gun to my mothers head while she was pregnant with me and she left him. I never met the man before he passed in 2016 and the 2 step fathers I had were not educated and didn't teach us anything meaningful. I've gone through a ton of junk in my life but I have an amazing mind (I think?!) If you or anyone else need to vent or whatever pls don't hesitate.

As a White male in my 60's who also served this country and experienced my fathers death from his own hand and my mothers death by the same means 5 months later. That was 42 years ago. Hearing you say you had thought at one time of self harm brought tears to my eyes. Every day I wake up, I thank the lord and know that I have unfinished work here on earth. I'm not sure what was harder to hear the song or that you didn't think you were worth enough. I may not know you personally but you are a human being no person should ever believe they are worthless. God loves all his children and each one of us matter to him. God knew what he was doing when he gave you your son. Becoming a parent makes the world look different the big things don't seem so big and the small things become much more important. You seem like a good man the fact you took the time to go to parenting classes speaks volumes.
