Another great content and comparison, will you do a full review of the Mark One X

Please, how would you compare these two paddles against each other? As a 3.75 player, I depend on a soft feel Control type paddle with great spin, but I also want enough Pop/Power for my serves and put aways. My friend has the Paddletek but I was also thinking of the standard shape Anna Leigh one too. How does that compare to these? (ps - right now I am using the Ronbus Nova R1 and the Pulsar R2 FX. I typically like a 16 mm paddle, but also have used a Gruven/Muven 13.7 successfully.

From the description you’ve provided the Mark OneX would be more up your alley because trust me there is nothing soft about the Paddleteks not even the thicker 14.3MM ones 😂 that being said if you try and enjoy the Paddleteks they should be releasing a standard shaped bantam with a longer handle pretty soon and I would maybe hold out for that one! It’s currently being used by a couple of their pros. Hope this helps!

Just got my paddletek tko-c today and played about 2 hours with it. I was in love almost immediately. I’ve been playing the gearbox pro power elongated for a while now and it was just way too hard to and the new paddletek felt like I could put it anywhere on the court at anytime
@pickleballtechdude

This is the most intuitive power paddle I’ve ever tried. Really does the work for you. Wild Paddletek does nothing for 2 years then comes out with these bangers LOL

@@pickleballtechdude no doubt! I was worried I’d miss the extra power from the gearbox but it’s not even noticeable or worth it due to the loss of control. I think I’m gonna be playing this one for a long time

Great review! I fell in love immediately with the power and pop combined with feel and touch offered by the gen 3 Joola Magnus 16 mm, but I’ve got a tournament coming up and have to find an alternative since the Joola gen 3 still delisted. What do you recommend that could even come close to the gen 3 Joola Magnus 16 mm combined with the power and amazing pop it has for winning hand battles at the net. Keep in mind I’m a 4.25+ish female and am also all about control in terms of being able to keep dinks down and drops in. I’ve heard others say if going with TKO-C should opt for the 12.7 mm, bc 14.3 not as worthwhile. However, I’m a little concerned about touch in terms of dinking and drops with 12.7
@pickleballtechdude

I think if you’re going for power/pop/hand speed combo with your skill level I would lean towards the *TKO-C 12.7* - in my opinion none of the Joolas even match what that paddle does in those areas in particular. 14.3 will give you a bit more control but you will sacrifice some hand speed. I play 4.0 level and will say with the 12.7 you have the ability to let the paddle do a lot of work for you and if you keep that in mind you will learn to dink and control the soft game pretty quickly since it has a VERY solid twist weight and level of stability even for a ~13MM paddle. If you’re going for something legal and closer to the feel of the Joolas but possibly sacrificing some sweet spot size and hand speed I would also consider the *Vatic Pro Oni* . Hope this helps!!

@@pickleballtechdude beyond helpful!!! It’s so odd when I look in pickleball effect database it doesn’t seem like the numbers suggest the 12.7 has smaller sweet spot or is less forgiving really than the 14.3🤔 if I’m reading them correctly 12.7 has swing weight of 114 and twist weight of 6.6 and the 14.3 has swing weight of 115 and twist weight of 6.48. Odd 12.7 has higher twist weight right?
@pickleballtechdude
@pickleballtechdude 4 месяца назад
You’re reading correct! I said the 14.3 just sacrifices hand speed and pop more generally as well which is exhibited by the 114 SW in comparison to 112 for the 12.7. I did also find it has a more forgiving sweet spot than the 14.3 - it’s counterintuitive!

Do you prefer the Paddletek or the Gen3 Joola. I have the Perseus 16mm and I’m not sold on it and now with all the core crushing issues coming up I think I’m going to get rid of it. The TKO-CX 12.7mm has definitely caught my eye!
@pickleballtechdude

Personally prefer the TKO. The Perseus has much better spin though and I would give it a slight edge in control. The TKO 14.3MM might be up your alley!

Did you mean the twist weight is too low on the Mark OneX, not too high?
@cwarner5909
@cwarner5909 4 месяца назад
I am under the impression that a high twist weight is a positive which typically translates to a larger sweet spot. 2:00
@pickleballtechdude

^ this first response is correct! Twist weight is sort of like a measure of stability and it makes paddles with good sweet spots feel even better. The OneX had a higher (better) TW than I expected!

How similar in play is the Mark OneX compared to 11six24's Control-X?
@pickleballtechdude
@pickleballtechdude 4 месяца назад
Not too similar in my opinion. The Kevlar Control-X is probably most comparable but the main differences are that the OneX has: higher swing weight and more power/pop. Kevlar Control-X feels more maneuverable and the 14MM has more pop to bring it up closer to the OneX but overall will feel a bit less stable (without lead tape!!). Hope this helps!

I get this question all the time and it REALLY depends. Asking me personally for my play style my top 3 I’ve ever tried are probably the Holbrook Power Pro, the Honolulu J2K, and the Joola Scorpeus 3 14MM. J2K fits more all-around game and the other 2 are obviously power 😂

This is a great point. I’m giving my impressions on day 1 which could change over the next 13 days I test but also I’m definitely basing my opinion on other ~13MM paddles or thinner, in which case other reviewers may or may not agree that it has a reasonable sweet spot. Appreciate you watching!!

ive been playing the 12.7 for a month now but would recommend the 14.3 which i also have for 99% of players the 14.3 has an even bigger sweet spot, hits just as hard and is better at resets and dinks .... the twist weught is higher and you will not need a ton of lead tape like you need and Alshon uses on the 12.7.
