I know 2 languages other than my native language. Portuguese being the native language, i've studied english for a long time now and i've learned spanish which is very similr to portuguese so I didn't have a hard time on it. I tried polish as fourth language, and it is kinda complicated, but once you understand it, it makes sense, i know just the Duolingo basics though. What would you recommend learning as a fourth language for a brazilian?

@@JVictorComparini Thanks for your comment, JVictor. Answering your question: French, without a doubt! Not so difficult for us and it is spoken in all the globe.

Hey, Mateus, Bênção! Thank you for the advice, I am working on convincing many people to learn another language. I wish you well with your channel. For myself, though, I am wondering if you might have any recommendations for someone who wants to learn Portuguese? One or two specific channels, books, resources, etc. I work in this field and I love it.

hey, I maybe have some recommendations! If you want to practice listening and reading without necessarily being a teacher talking about grammar/vocabulary, you can try these books: O Pequeno Príncipe, the Portuguese version of The Little Prince, as long as any book that has a Portuguese translation (or just any book that is in Portuguese) and youtube channels: Você Sabia and Manual do Mundo. They both teach about all kind of things and Manual do Mundo says a bit slower, so it can be better for listening if you want a channel that teaches portuguese, I recommend Easy Portuguese, that teaches indirectly, and Easy Portuguese School, that teaches more directly. Good luck learning Portuguese! I hope I helped. I'm very happy to know you want to learn our language, by the way!

@@cocozaofritoamilanesa830 Do you mind if I comment? I'm not sure if reading "The Little Prince" is the best way to learn Brazilian Portuguese, unsless that's some kind of "children version" of the book wrote in a simpler vocabulary. While it's a classic, it's a French book with a lot of room for interpretation. If you're looking to learn Brazilian Portuguese, I'd recommend starting with Brazilian literacy materials. For beginners, I suggest exploring classic Brazilian children's and young adult literature like: *A droga da obediência by Manuel Bandeira (often studied in 6th grade) *The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank (not Brazilian, but written in accessible language) Meu pé de laranja lima by José Mauro de Vasconcelos If you're a complete beginner, consider starting with "Turma da Mônica" comic books by Maurício de Souza. You can also explore works by Monteiro Lobato, another Brazilian author known for his children's and young adult literature. These classics are typically studied up to 6th grade, when more advanced grammar is introduced in Brazil. While there are many classic English authors, nothing beats learning Brazilian Portuguese from native Brazilians. Similarly, you'll find numerous classic works translated into Portuguese, including Brazilian authors like Machado de Assis, José Mauro de Vasconcelos, and Clarice Lispector. However, even half of the Brazilian population may struggle to interpret some of these works. Channels: I would suggest, as much as our friend said, "Manual do mundo (science), more approachble language; Coisa de Nerd (technology), and Republica coisa de Nerd; Cade a chave (day by day rotine from a brazilian nice couple that live in Canada), LubaTV (memes), some kind of pew-dee-pie; Atila Iamarino; Ciência Todo Dia; Ciência sem fim (he also has a site and a podcast daily updated!) Well, I have a kind nerd taste for channels, but those one are amazing, there are so many other. We produce amazing RU-vidrs with different contents =)

I am starting to learn japanese, it is very hard to start a language with almost zero vocabulary and a even worst grammar. I use english to express myself and watch entertainment, my goal is to be able to do that in japanese too. Thanks for the tips!

Hi Matheus, how it's going? I've been trying to improve my english speaking skills for a long time and I know that practice is the key to accomplish it. At this point, speaking with native english speakers on Internet - mainly in Discord language servers like The Language Sloth and others - is already one of my daily tasks, but, I still not able to sound confidently or don't know what talk about most of the time. So, during your learning process, did you have used any of these tutors website (most of them paids)?

@@estudecomalari Hi, how are you? I speak: Portuguese, English, Spanish and a bit of French. English: I started learning it in 2013 through RU-vid videos, gameplays and reading. Spanish and French (not fluent in French; Spanish may be questionable): I started learning them in 2021 through listening and reading. Best regards.
