Day 143: Last Full Day On Trail / CDT Thru-hike 2024 

I’ve eaten breakfast with you for 143 days. Only get one more. I have thoroughly enjoyed every video and appreciate your efforts to film your hike and share it with us! Well done Mike “Energizer”!!

The end is near, but none of us subscribers want it to end. Can you yo-yo back and entertain us for another 5-6 months?

Breathtaking scenery and miserable weather.

You certainly threaded that weather window almost perfectly. I've watched your AT and Bay travels in real time, while backtracking to see your PCT hike. I'm 68, I applaud your planning, grit and determination. I have hiked and sailed vicariously with you and enjoyed every minute. The difficulty of the CDT is not lost on me and I am happy to have gotten to know your adopted trail family. I'm so glad they adopted you 😊 Knee Deep and Mash are indeed a wonderful couple. Knee Deep's smile is effervescent. Shaun (Logman) is a monster on trail. I hope he gets a massage after carrying Larry for almost five months. I also hope you were able to meet up with Early Bird again before you left Montana. After seeing her using her camera with the massive telephoto lens I was wondering if she had a blog of her photos? The extra weight in her pack was no small consideration. Finally, thank you for hiking for Warrior Expeditions and mentioning Logman's Alzheimer's support. I contributed to you both!

YOU have provided us with a daily adventure to follow you along your journey. Your trail family has worked with you and entertained us as well along the way to include providing us three days worth of their personal “views” while your phone was down for the count. Your Family, I am sure, has helped you every step of the way from sending boxes to sheer motivation. I can only hope to experience ONE of the trails that you have completed (AT) and will use the guidance you have provided over the last few years. Thank you Mike. I’m sure you and the others have mixed feelings about finishing the CDT. For those of us that have been living vicariously through your daily videos I’m sure I speak for many in that we will be sad to see your hike end. It really had become something I looked forward to seeing daily. My wife, who is blind and never was a hiker, also enjoyed at least listening to your videos. Congratulations on the Triple Crown. Certainly a worthwhile achievement. Thank you so much for bringing us along.

Mother Nature certainly saved some nasty weather for your last full day on trail. I must say, looking at you lying there doing the closeout, you looked the most worn out I have seen you on this hike. I am glad that you will finish tomorrow in good health.

Morning, Mike. Beautiful views today. Horrible weather. Hopefully it won't rain tomorrow as you hike to the terminus. That looked miserable but I loved the laughter and the way you tried to make the best of it. You looked kinda frozen at the end. We could see the wind in the tent sides and hear it. Am so excited for you. Are you the only Triple Crowner in the group? Hope you managed to get some good sleep for the next day with the wind and cold. Take care. Stay safe. See you tomorrow.

It’s depressing that there aren’t many glaciers left (or the size that they used to be) in Glacier National Park because of human-caused climate change. I went there as a kid in the early 70s, and you could see dozens of large glaciers everywhere. It’s terribly sad.
