01JUN2024. Day 153 (+2). Having all the wisdom but without obedience to God is of no avail.

Thank the Lord I am more like the thief on the cross. Many, many sins in my youth, but with age and gentle pulling from the Lord I found my way back to Him and the Church. I still have many faults to atone for but, Lord keep me on Your path to You and to heaven.

I’ve known for a while that I lost my son because of my sins & after listening to this, I know it for absolute surety. Father Mike; you are amazing & give so much of yourself & in doing so, give so much to others. Thank you! Also, IAM subscribed! lol

Wow Father Mike! You made my day in your comments on day 153 BIY when you quoted The Rolling Stones. “We don’t always get what we want (but we find sometimes we get what we need, is what you should have added😃). This after your warning not to marry a spouse who does not share your love for the lord. That sums my married life up to a T, married 44 years to a spouse who is a polar opposite from me when it comes to a belief in God and a love for Jesus. Fear not though, I choose to soldier on and refuse to be dragged down in my faith. Love what you do with the BIY PODCAST. Best spiritual tonic ever.

The idolatry of the all of King Solomons wife's was the linchpin of his falling away and doing what was evil God's eyes. Now we see the revelation of the kingdom being split up into the divided kingdoms which will be that way for a long period. The words of a wise man's mouth win him favor, but the lips of a fool consume him..for God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, weather good or evil. This episode really spoke to me! I was one who didn’t stick with the spouse of my youth. I became unhappy & wanted more. I thought that more was to be single & have fun, as I had married very young to a man I knew less than 2 months. I was married 21 years & threw it all away. After a while I met someone new & remarried. I didn’t realize he was shallow & had no care for the deeper things of life. We were married 16 years. During that time, I turned back to God & converted to Catholicism. He feigned interest for a short time, but eventually he gave up. I eventually became very ill & he couldn’t handle it; he went looking for someone new & left me. I was so foolish for so many years & made ashes of my life. Thank God, He rescued me! Now I’m old & look back on a life with many more pits than peaks. I can truly say the peaks were all when I walked with God & had nothing to do with how well I was doing financially. These days I’m in financial straights, but my life is richer than ever. All due to the Lord. Praise be God forever, glory to His Son, Jesus Christ, & to our Comforter, the Holy Spirit.🙏❤️

O Lord, forgive for I am the fool, for I am sinful, for I dwell on my knowledge but not YOUR commandments. Forgive me because of the goodness of my brothers and sisters and Father Mike. For all is vanity, but YOU are the very reason for my existence. Amen.

Ecclesiastes 11:5 “As you do not know how the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of work God who makes everything.” Upon reading this passage just now and knowing today the Roe vs. Wade was overturned on the day of the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus .. It’s giving me all the feels, goosebumps! Praise you Jesus 🙌

It is hard to understand how Solomon could be given the gift of wisdom and let his heart be led astray and away from God - please pray for our daughter who is marrying a man who is not baptized and doesn’t believe in God - for this man to desire to know, love and serve God, for our daughter to come back to her Catholic faith and for our son to come back to his faith as well. I like what Father Mike said about choosing a spouse of the same faith. I have indeed seen spouses turn their other half astray. To do that though you have to tell yourself that you love God above this person who you are attracted to or who is a love interest for you. Many will not understand your decision though.

Thank you Father Mike for sharing the bible with all of us. It is a true blessing to understand the bible. It allows us to better understand Our Lord and grow closer to Him. Praying for Father Mike and all who are in the need of prayers.

The Prayer of St. Gertrude Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family.
Amen. God would reply to St. Gertrude that He would use whatever was offered to Him for the faithful departed, according to His inclination to show pardon & mercy.

I think the message actually inspires confidence and hope in that we can relax and know that even the most wisest of human beings had the same feelings we all do….the questioning of life’s purpose which in turn can try to break your faith in eternity and God. It says “hey, we all feel this way we are human…but hang on there really is a design and purpose” You are not unique in your thoughts , fears and doubts press on….thank you father mike…loved this book

Day 153 Amen

I get it affect your kids that happened to me when I married my wife she was Catholic I was Baptist eventually I joined the Catholic Church. Then I left the church what back to the Baptist Church. When my wife going to the Catholic Church. She kept her faith my kids stopped going to mass I was gone for 13 years that was a foolish thing that I did I'll be back to the church 13 months now I had not missed any mass of obligation I go to all holy days going to mass. Now I'm at practicing Catholic. The problem now my kids will not want to go two Mass anymore daughter is !6 . My twin boys 14 years old. And my wife doesn't go anymore she sees me getting ready going to mass she stays home and sleeps. Hope someday my wife kids start going to mass and it's on my fault now I'm a practicing Catholic did all my confessions I came back to the church can I fast on those certain days of the year not eating meat lent Season . I only eat fish that time of year. I was baptized 1979 my classmate from high school what's my sponsor her and her husband sponsors. Back then I can go to mass very often I didn't know what I believed even though I had the classes a lot of things I didn't know for example I didn't know the Eucharist was the presence of Jesus Christ body and blood.i did not know difference between mortal sins venial sins. I always thought sin is no difference. I'm never going to do something like that again because Jesus Christ started his church Saint Peter the keys to the kingdom and I love our Pope. Pope Francis what are things to help me get back in the church the coast family he passed away very good Catholic that woke me up see I'm age 67 That Could Have Been Me and I would not have been ready to meet the Lord. So I have very close connection family friends my wife is from the Philippines her employer also Filipino they answered all my questions that I had about the church they were very happy I came back they were our sponsors when we got married in the Catholic Church . The way I got started I went to the Parish Office I want to come back to the church what do I do and the lady put me in contact father Jonathan I did my confessions face to face I had to go back 40 or 50 years of confessions every time I thought I was done with the confession the Holy Spirit remind me of something else I need to confess . All my confessions I'm done with the Mortal sins I only have two morticians I have to come fast something I did was stupid stupid house emptying out my trash from my apartment I saw a whole case on the sidewalk I took it in my apartment dumped all the water jump out the weather water I put the empty plastic in my recycle. Reason that's mortal it didn't belong to me on top of that I took the Eucharist. Once I do that confession on that on Thursday nowadays we all be venial sins from now on I have worked so hard working on all my sins going to confession because I'm age 67 I cannot remember my sins what I do put it on my phone I can't write it down I have a learning disability I cannot spell I was in Special Ed when I was growing up if you have a problem of doing something there's always a way. Can I keep on keeping track lent and ash wednesday.

Lord,show me where I'm not honoring You.

Lord, We need you. Thank you for never forsaking those who seek you. Help us to fear you and stay faithful to your commandments. May we always seek that which is good even if it won’t have the results we think are fair. Humble us. Give us the strength to act with consideration to others. We give you thanks for every moment confident that there is a purpose for us no matter our age or other limitations. 🙏🏻

Yes, yesterday we prayed that Psalm, Psalm 8, of how who are we that you mind care for us? Who are we that as human beings that you even keep us in mind. And now today Lord God, we just are struck, we're struck by our need to ask you, please to be reminded of how we need you to care for us, how we need you to pay attention to us because of the fact that there are so many obstacles. There are so many battles. There are so many things that are facing us this day that we just ask you for your grace and for your strength, we ask for your attentiveness and your love to being present in our lives, especially in the midst of battle, in the midst of struggle, in the midst of this life. We trust in you, we praise you and we love you. Please receive this in Jesus' name. Amen. †

It certainly can feel meaningless when a storm can rip apart your home with all your memories inside it. When torrential rain can cause flooding that destroys your home and everything. It certainly can. Poor people that this has happened to. I fear this.

David was a great example to his family as to how to love God with all his heart. So why didn’t Solomon follow his father in that sense. I don’t blame David for Solomon’s failures. Solomon failed on his own. He was caught in the sexual sins. That was his own doing.

so did Solomon go to heaven, for all of the good things that he did do???? 🧐🤔🤷🏽‍♀️

I am glad my fiance is a God-fearing woman. Plus, she is so intelligent and has my passion for missions work. It just shows Solomon how he started out based with wisdom, and because of his heathen wives, he cucked.

A great reminder to not give our heart to anyone except the Lord God and Jesus. *Kings 1 Chapter 11- Solomon's errors- 700 wives, 300 concubines from the regions forbidden by God due to their nature of turning the heart away from God of any man who married them. Ashteroth, the goddess of Sidonians, Milcom the abomination of Ammonites, high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, high place for Molech (requiring human child sacrifices- oh my goodness) the abomination of Ammonites * Enemies - Hadad the Edomite and Jeroboam, the future ruler of 10 tribes. * God is always merciful as He gives Solomon rest during his life and also provides one tribe to rule for Solomon's descendants thanks to King David's faithful heart. * St. Paul is right. Let's not be yoked unequally. Spiritual physics is true. It's easier to pull people down than to lift them up. Thus, it is easier to get us away from God for a person but harder to have us get closer to God. Especially for a person to convince their spouse regarding faith. * Ecclesiastes Ch10- Observations of wisdom - An excellent analysis of life and nature of people. *Psalm 9- God's Power and Justice - a great des * Ecclesiastes Ch12 is indeed a great chapter about how we need to remember that we will continue to get old and we must remember God in all of our days, especially during our days of old age. Like how King David continued to love God till his death. * Ecclesiastes' book is like that bitter pill that we need to swallow but the end results are excellent because it helps us to know the reality of life, be self-aware and not take life for granted.
