After struggling with infertility for many years we finally got pregnant! We had a beautiful baby girl! Then she died a little while after birth. We were so gutted! About a year later God gave us a son, then 3 years later twins boys, then 3 years later a daughter!! God is SO good! He brought us to our knees so we would be open to His will because we felt He was all we had to turn to. Praise God!

Lord Jesus, I humbly pray for myself, Father Mike, & all the people participating in the Bible-in-Year podcast. May your word take deep root in our hearts & transform our ways of thinking, discerning, and acting. If I only had the same faith at the beginning of the story I would have walked in more courage. God bless you Father Mike and all in this community. I went to see my son Matthew today. He is a shadow of the boy he use to be because of mental illness. It is so painful as Matthews mother single parent,to see my son suffering. Matthew is 33 years old. God gives me courage to do the best I can for Matt. I have Faith that God knows what his doing in Matt's life and when I leave, I leave Matt in God's hands. Thank you God 🙏❤️

Father Mike, while it's unlikely that you will see this comment, I will leave it anyhow. On this very day, less than an hour from now, I am taking a Leap of Faith that is likely to change the course of my life. Your insight regarding the woman with the oil has reminded me that though I do not know the outcome of this situation, I will continue to walk with God and strengthen my faith on this journey. I can't thank you enough for what you said. Your words soothed me. I am not promised that this will be an easy endeavor, but with faith and love for our Lord, I do believe that everything will be just as He wills as I do my best to follow His guidance. There are people who lose children to many things besides illness and death. All loss has so much pain and grief. I pray for all. Children are lost through drugs, some mental issues. Some leave their parents and even take grandchildren away. All have large holes in their hearts. I pray for all who have grief and loss and I ask for prayers for my family also. I have hope and faith that God does good for all those who love and trust Him.

I suffered a traumatic miscarriage last year, I was on a bad path and it humbled me and brought me to the Lord I still feel the loss but I trust the Lord has his reasons and he has brought me back to the Church and put me back on the right path, I can only thank the Lord for guiding me back to him ❤

Bible In a Year friends, I come humbly before you this morning asking for your prayers. The Lord solved a big problem for us yesterday. But I am terrified of having that “solution “ come undone. My Dad had leukemia. He was taking a turn for the worse, and I convinced my parents to seek a second opinion. The new doctor told us his leukemia was on the verge of becoming acute which meant he had maybe 2 months left. They were going to start a new treatment on him and run him on dialysis. I prayed "please God, just one more year!" The new treatment worked, and he did get better. He still had leukemia though. And he was mostly good up until the last 2 days of his life - 1 year later. If only I had the faith at the beginning that I had at the end, I would have asked for considerably more time.

I may have asked the same question when my hubby died. But instead of turning away much much farther away from God (ive been away far too long even before his death), i believe God used my sorrow to return to Him. And i do understand now why he had to go, while i go on. I thank God for calling me back that i'd been able, (with His help) to turn my life around. I pray to remain faithful to Him till my last breath.

This touched my heart as I'm praying for a child named Carson who seems to be at the end of his life after suffering for 7years with AML. I lost my husband 15 years ago, then my brother 2 years ago and my 2nd husband almost a year ago. They were painful times. Earlier this year I got seriously ill and while recovering I had bereavement counselling. Whilst in recovery and having counselling, I began to get closer to God through making more time for prayer and doing various prayerful activities, in particular those on the Hallow App. I have felt and continue to experience the change for the better. I feel good. I am at peace. I don't feel lonely because I know God is always with me and Mother Mary, Joseph, the Saints and the Angels too. Thank you Fr Mike for your insights. They are so helpful. I love journeying with you in this Bible in a Year series. God bless you.

We have to KNOW and TRUST that He has the long vision that we lack and BELIEVE that He will make good come from our sorrows. Thank you for your prayers. We lost our son July 12th, 2019. The hole in my heart is huge. Jacob was an amazing young man. He suffered with Bi Polar, Schizo Affective, with Suicidal Ideations. He had voices telling him how awful he was, and that he should kill himself. We knew about his depression, it started when he was 7 (Oct 1995)when I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer that had metastasized to my spine and My liver. He managed his disease extremely well, for over 22 years. I love God, and I trust Him, but the pain of this loss is still unbearable. So, I thank you all for your prayers. 💕💕🙏🙏🙏

There’s a book that may be comfort to you. I’ve never read it personally, but I’ve heard the author speak on it. I love listening to him. It is not just about suicide, but it’s for all those who are grieving. The name of the book is After Suicide and the author is Father Chris Alar. Like I said, I can’t say it’s great, because I haven’t read it. I do know he delivers some awesome homilies!

I was fortunate enough to meet father Chris, he has so much passion and his passion is contagious. I bought his book on suicide etc. because it was a with that address several questions in peoples minds regarding suicide and other issues. When Jake died I left a message for father Chris to please keep him in his prayers. He called me back the same day, we talked and he helped with our griezf.
