I’m praying for all those non-Catholic Christians who are listening to this and feeling the invitation to become Catholic. 🙏 We welcome you with open arms!
Thank you Fr Mike. I've just listened to this twice. We take so much for granted, I'm going to Mass this evening and I promise, with the help of God's grace, to worship as if it's my first, my last, my only Mass. Praying for you and everyone here. God bless🙏❤️🙏
My husband and I will also be going through the annulment process, but are starting RCIA this August while we wait. Praying for you, please pray for us.
Happy day 184. Howdy y’all!👋🤠 I missed vigil Mass yesterday, but made it to Contemporary Mass at 5:00 this afternoon. It moved me in a way it hasn’t in awhile & Jesus in the Eucharist was truly alive to me. I had tears after communion as I kneeled at my pew & meditated on His Presence in me. Wonder & Awe🙏❤️
@@connienavarette1948 I had just watched a near death experience. The man said; that the Sun, the planets; the entire universe; is held together by; - Love. When we eat the Eucharist; we take in this Love; - the Lord Jesus Christ; who is holding the entire universe; and it is this AMAZING GRACE; in the ultimate capacity; that we are living under our privileges. To think we swallow the entire Universe of Love; but we are in this veil; and we can't see on the other side. I can sing Amazing Grace; and sing it with this understanding. In my Catholic church ; we sing it in French; during the consecration. The prophet Isaiah; I heard that he was called; the crying prophet; I feel the call is the same for Fr Mike. I try to relay the message he gives; but it falls on deaf ears. I have family that is in this off shoot of Pentecostalism.
That was truly beautiful. God bless you Fr. Mike and all people listening to this podcast. I am falling in love with my God, my Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and my Catholic Faith each and every day. Thank you Fr. Mike.
Thank you Fr Mike, for years I longed to do a course in Catechism of the Catholic church and hear I am today provide with this wonderful opportunity at my convenience God bless Fr Mike 🙏
I am a convert to the Catholic church. I was raised Lutheran but I knew somewhere inside I was supposed to Catholic. My mother-in-law (God bless her soul) was the one who brought me over. It fills me like no other. I love the church and it's teachings, so if you're wondering...check it out. I'll be praying for all of you.
I'm praying for all non-Catholic Christians to accept this invitation for a selfish reason. It has been my experience that those who convert learn more and bring much to the faith. Much like those who come to this country and become citizens usually know more about our system of government than those born and raised here. 🙏🙏🙏
Fr. Mike you have made “the mass” more meaningful to me so much so in the quiet of my mind when I meditate I can hear your voice and explanation done forcefully.🙏🏻❤️🔥
Thank you for bringing out the beauty and truth of catholicism everyday! Thank you also for praying for us. I am praying and giving thanks for you and this wonderful service.
Thank you Father Mike I wish you lived closer to where I live could talk to you in person and have concussion yes we are all one in Jesus name we pray goodnight everybody sleep well and God bless amen I'm praying for you father Mike and all my community
I constantly am overwhelmed by the intensity of God's love for us expressed by Jesus and manifested by the Holy Spirit. I think how foolish I have been in my life and how grateful I am for God's mercy and patience with me. I am grateful to Ascension and Father Mike and all of you for this journey. Peace be with you.
The part of the church I felt so welcome is the Eucharist as before I was initiated RCIA the full meaning made me feel at home God is my Father Thank you Fr Mike
I was raised in the Baptist church and have been serving there for the majority of my adult life. Over the past few years, I have felt God drawing me closer to Him and that “still, small, voice” leading me to the Catholic Church. I have 2 young daughters and am raising my granddaughter as well. I have prayed for God to help me lead them to Him and in doing so, again, my heart was feeling pulled to learning more about the Catholic Church. I began The Catechism in a Year in January and now know why God is calling me to his Church, the Catholic Church. So many questions I have had for years have been answered in regards to my faith. My husband and I will begin RCIA this fall at our parish that we have been attending since January of this year. Please pray for us and our family as we learn and grow our love for God, the Church and our faith more deeply.
Father, may everything that I do this day, whether it be full of joy or pain, whether it be full of love or of grief, I ask that everything I go through today be offered to you just like Jesus offered everything to you. It is in his name we pray. Amen. 7/3/2023
Day 184 Fr. Prays Help us to worship you at the next mass as if it's our first mass, our last mass and our only mass ❤️ Gods love is incredibly inclusive. There is no one in this world for whom Jesus did not suffer and die to redeem. At the same time, God's love is exclusive. He as an exclusive claim on us. And we respond to that by participating in the Eucharist *We are made for the Eucharist*
I came to the Catholic Church from the Episcopal Church primarily so that I could receive the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus on a daily basis if I wanted to. Since mid-February I attend mass at least five times a week. Of course, I make sure that I'm in a state of sanctifying grace and go to confession on a regular basis. This as well as doing consecrations to Mary and to Joseph have resulted in a profound change for me. This Catechism in a year is a great blessing as well and I thank Fr. Mike for all he puts into each and every session.
Amen thank you Fr. for the invitation. I unit my prayer with Fr. Mike and all my brothers and sisters in this journey for a One and United Church of which Christ is the Head and the body of the Church he started.
I attend 7:30 am Mass on Sunday. Last week during the service, I heard a voice telling me not to received communion until I go to confession. Not wanting to missed this gift , I went to confession that morning and then participate in the Eucharist
Thank you Father Mike for today in the way you ended catechism in a year. I am a protestant have been all my life I’m in my mid 50s looking to become Catholic. I’ve been attending Mass the last month every Sunday. I’m learning and sometimes that’s intimidating. Yesterday at Mass I kind of messed up when I was supposed to kneel and when I was supposed to bless myself and I remember thinking oh goodness I look like I don’t know what I’m doing, and then I was concerned about that, and what others thought. But your words this morning don’t be afraid meant so much to me!! Yes I may look like I’m learning how to attend Mass because I am, but that’s OK because I truly believe God has me where I’m supposed to be. Thank you so much for your encouragement. God bless and take care.🙏🏻
Welcome to His Table!! May you continue to go through the process of entering His Church, you will not regret it! God bless you and keep you coming back!!
What a warm invitation to the Catholic church from Father Mike, if you aren't Catholic yet, let this sink into your heart. We are waiting to welcome you!
I remember during the lockdown, I felt so empty without the Eucharist. Although we did the ‘Spiritual Communion’ prayer, I needed my REAL Jesus. I did drive to church one weekend and managed to receive Communion from my local priest. When the lockdown was lifted many months later, at the 1st mass, my eyes filled up with tears of joy - so glad to be back physically in church, celebrating mass and receiving Jesus again.
WoW, just WoW! I can tell you one thing from my heart, if I wasn't already a Catholic-Christian, I'd be signing up for the next RCIA session STAT! It breaks my heart that so many Catholics, including those in my own family, are practicing their faith within the walls of another Christian denomination. I pray for the intercession of Mother Mary as well as St Anthony to stir in their hearts a longing to return to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Reuniting their souls with the Body and Blood of Christ, we need this Holy food, and as Fr Mike says, we were made for it. I am praying for all souls contemplating joining the Catholic Church, the only thing you will regret is having not done it sooner. You are so welcome here and we cannot wait to meet you! 🥰
Thank you Fr Mike. I hope non Catholics listening will take a small step to the church near them and begin a journey of investigation and ultimately become part of our holy mother church, the Bride of Christ. Thank you Jesus ❤️🙏🏻❤️
11:30 The heart of religion is worship/attempt to give God what you think God wants). And the heart of worship is sacrifice. God bless you, Fr. Mike and everyone here!
Good morning Fr. Mike. The liturgy of the Word and Eucharist have truly come alive for me. I understand that the Eucharist was made for me and I for the Eucharist. I understand my continuos yearning for the Eucharist. I am praying for you and everyone listening to this podcast. Have a great day.
The Mass is an invitation by Christ to be fully invited to the Catholic Church. The celebrant of the Eucharist is a validly ordained priest (Bishop or priest) who acts in the Person of Christ the Head and in the name of the Church. As part of the assembly, we baptised Christians, must participate in the sacrifice of the Mass with greater depth of worship.
So I converted after whole life Methodist...thought converting would be hard. Holy Spirit works and BOOM! Trust! "For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” - Matthew 11:30. 4/8/23
Fr. Mike was right in that " Christ ... in his sacrifice brings to Perfection all human attempts to offer sacrifices". In pagan religions in ancient times, this is more obvious in that those religions attempted to appease God with various sacrifices such as animal sacrifices. Now we know what kind of sacrifice God wants, the sacrifice of Christ. And we participate in that sacrifice during mass!
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation, a [special] people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections] of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9
Mine eyes have seen the glory Of the coming of the Lord.. In the beauty of the lily Christ was born across the sea... I have seen him in the watchfires Of a hundred circling camps They have built for him an altar in the evening dews and damps.. His day is marching on! 🎵God bless the USA( Home Free)
The book "A Key to the Doctrine of the Eucharist" by Dom Anscar Vonier was extremely helpful to me in developing a deeper understanding the Sacrament of the Eucharist as Sacrament and Sacrifice through the teaching of Aquinas and Trent, explained in a clear manner. I recommend it for anyone who is interested in questions like: how is the Mass a Sacrifice and what is its relationship to the Sacrifice of the Cross and to the other Sacraments.
Today Monday July 3rd a day before Independence day of the United States 🇺🇸 ❤ I am listening to day 184 of the catechism of the church with Father Mike Schmitz and Ascension press. Praise The Lord O My Soul, praise The Lord O My Soul. 🙏❤❤😊😇
I can’t help but feel bad for all the souls who have left the church because they were not welcome at the table. The dogma around this has changed so much over the years. For the first few hundred years the church practiced open communion. Then in the Middle Ages only clergy received communion. I pray that the church changes once again to allow all people to come to the table.
Greetings Father Mike, Thoughts :- -> Message reflect with, "Holy Mass is the Celebration of Holy Faith in Lord Jesus Christ in every sense in all aspects of Life." -> Thanks Father, Team Ascension Press for Valuable Insights. With regards and Prayers, Ranjith Joseph (R.J)
Fr Mike. I am Catholic. I love God. I love Jesus Christ, and I believe and am devout in practice. Why is He not answering my prayers? Following along in CIY since Jan 1. Lost my job. 2. Haven’t had a break to get another job. 3. Divorce gave me nothing to cushion the loss of marriage nor any alimony. 4. Have no one but myself, so no other means of finances or way forward. What does God want from me?
July 3, 2023 Have you ever listened or read Saint Faustina’s Diary? I urge you to listen to or read her Diary to help guide you in this life. Jesus I trust in You. #DivineMercy
The heart of religion is worship, the heart of worship is sacrifice. I was born and raised a Catholic in the US. I wonder what life would have been like if I was born a Baptist or a Jew, or a Muslim, a Buddhist, an atheist, or something else. Since I was catechized as a child, my child's mind picked and focused on certain things. This CIAY is good to visit as an adult. It definitely feels like I'm learning new things even if a simplified version was taught when I was young. St Raphael the archangel please bind the demon asmodeus and beezlebub and demons of lust, broken relationships, gluttony, pestilence, and disease. Send them to Jesus for immediate sentencing for the glory of God. St Michael the archangel please bind the demon Lucifer and Leviathan and belphegor and demons of pride, envy, government, debt, and sloth. Send them to Jesus for immediate sentencing for the glory of God. St Gabriel the archangel please bind the demon Mammon and Satan and demons of greed, wrath, injustice, lies, and death. Send them to Jesus for immediate sentencing for the glory of God. Guardian angel please bind the demon Satan, belphegor, Mammon, asmodeus, Leviathan, Lucifer, beezlebub, and demons of wrath, injustice, lies, death, sloth, greed, lust, broken relationships, broken families, envy, government, debt, pride, gluttony, envy, pestilence, and disease. Send them to Jesus for immediate sentencing for the glory of God and my sincere conversion. Mary please send a special troop of warrior angels to bind all devils effecting me and my husband and my family, send them to Jesus for immediate sentencing for the glory of God. For me, my husband, my family, and the whole world, especially me and my husband: My adorable Jesus, may our feet journey together, may our hands gather in unity, may our hearts beat in unison, may our souls be in harmony, may our thoughts be as one, may our ears listen to the silence together, may our glances profoundly penetrate each other, may our lips pray together to gain mercy from the Eternal Father.Amen.💜
However, maybe we can blame the kind of training the old priests had received; indifferentism from their training; there have been all kins of crazy stuff in the Quebecor history; and that destroyed the church like a bomb; they will pay; according to scattering the sheep in Jeremiah. I have to go to another town once a month; to have a priest. He has maintained young converts; family people with kids! One was made a Sunday school teacher; bringing in his friends. They are clean cut; that match my style; I am proper. But I am surprised that it is; also, other mature young people; coming in with their aged parents. It looks like the older parents are also psalty; what team work. The priest has a circle and I joined the circle; and we laughed. But I had already prayed; the essentials. We have to have a rapport of the best moment of coming to the throne. I stay 5 minutes extra still with imploring for people. Then by the church is so loud. I have my ride. And they are my new family; since I broke my foot and healed; and a special grace; that they are the gym teachers to a friend of mine and that I was part of a rare cult; and the chances; that they moved to my town from 8 hours away; and we became friends; with the same friends; and I had moved in from the US; escaping. What a small world.
In the mass, we have the exclusive and inclusive love of God.❤ Christ sacrificed himself for everyone (inclusive) . Be a practising Catholic if you want to be exclusive, as we are made for the Eucharist.
I think more than wanting us to be catholic he wants us to believe in God to love and worship him father son and holy spirit for we are the temple of the holy spirit and its not just about going to church but what we bring out forward after in loving one another as God loves us
I wish the explanation of the movement of the mass had included the transitions between modern/current time to the timeless part (the consecration) at the Sanctus (Holy, Holy, Holy) and back to the modern/current time after the Great Amen.
