There have been a lot of very fast reaction times at these championships. Even before the 110m hurdles final I was wondering whether something may be wrong with the equipment. Lots of 0.10x reaction times and a few DQs at 0.09x. It's usually very rare to see reaction times in that range.
Yep agree that the DQs were dodgy and that the general reaction time stats would imply that the average human reaction time has just suddenly improved by 2 hundredths or something. Dunno if this would actually hold under analysis but it sure felt that way. Lightning reactions all day long by their readings. On replays the false starts looked almost nonsensical.
@@GIBBO4182 The hurdler guy was under the acceptable limit by 1000th of a second. You get disqualified for being a great starter...amazing...the starter might has well shot himself in the foot...because that's what decisions like this do to athletics.

Highlights like this is the reason why athletics will never become a big sport (compared to some of the other main stream sporting codes). Totally unacceptable.
Total Rubbish...no effort whatsoever. They are behaving like Nokia before it's downfall refusing to embrace technology. A whole day summarized in 6 minutes???? Each event of the day should have had at least 5 minutes on its own!!!!
Some people were thinking the women's wr was going to get broken but yet again never happened. Just shows how fast the wr time was and it happened over 30 yrs ago lol
If you referring to the women's 200m record by Flo Jo , then I resembled that remark. That's resembled with an ed, past tense. Timing officials are throwing almost any chance of that happening under the bus by DQ ing anyone they perceive as having a reaction time that's to fast. Absolute Horse S__t
I would say my girl Abby , definitely has her work cut out for her . This 200 final on Thursday ,both men's & women's is simply not to be missed. It is quite possible ...perhaps probable that 6 of 8 women lining up for the 200 final will all be under 22 seconds I have to back pedal on an earlier prediction of Flo Jo's record coming under assault. With people being D.Qued for having heightened synaptic response while there body's are doubling down on adrenaline (It's the World Championships for Gods sake) 21.3 would be nothing short of super human. I'm in complete agreement with the fellow fan that remarked they were still trying to understand why you could be disqualified while the technology gives evidence that you reacted after (be it how ever short )the sound of the gun. These athletes have dedicated untold hours of their lives to becoming the very best the world has to offer in their given discipline and by penalizing the athlete for hyper fast reaction you are asking them to do something completely contrary to the entire idea behind the sport. I wouldn't penalize America for the asinine work and thinking of a very small handful of people . Not sure with whom the authority lies, but whomever that person is , we're it me, I would be setting world records for the fastest firing of an individual/individuals from a major sporting event staff.
With the semi finals in the books the finals take place Thursday evening .not sure what time zone your in but there's plenty of schedule info available.
Honestly who ever is editing these games for the highlights is terrible at their job. Totally ruined what should be a fun experience of catching up with what happened at the games. It’s not even a hard job to get right. All of the unnecessary camera angles as well. Sometimes not even showing the winning time, or the other times. Not even showing who’s competing in the races. What a mess.
