Nebraska is getting more and more sparsely populated and bald. Hot, too hot, windy and too windy.
On day 40 in the town of McCook, which is 24,000 inhabitants, I took advantages of the shops and especially, of the only bike shop in the region. Here I have got two inner tubes with liquid sealant. It should be harder with these to get a flat.
Day 41 was a sort of an easy day, partially resting, compensating a terrible night on a desolate camping of wind and high temperature. Early in the morning, I have decided to cycle just 12 miles away to the near town of Imperial and seek shelter on a hotel. The day would have been useless anyway, as per poor weather condition (too strong side wind and high temperature). In Imperial I have set the new inner tubes into the tyres and in the hotel, I have repaired my old punctured inner tubes, because you never know. The goat head, the bush responsible for my latest problems, causes micro punctures that generated pressure leaks. It is possibile to cycle forward with those leaks, but one must stop every morning by a gas station. So… making the most of the time when you have the time.
