Patrick, whenever you are about to do a Critical move like the one that blunder you the game, before you drop the piece, zoom out your vision to the whole board and connect the square that you are landing with the scope of your opponent pieces.

The rook blunder was inevitable. I've watched most of your games Patrick and when you make a move, you have a very bad habit of hovering over a few squares but not committing to a specific one - that's just asking for a mouse slip.

Rh3 didn't look like a slip. You had the move poised for seconds

7 min in, and something is fishy. The 1700 player is not gonna take that long to make a move. At this rate, Patrick is gonna win on time for a change😂

The g pawn push at his king was better for two reasons 1. When you push your h pawn you lost control of g4 as his knight now controls that square 2. The PURPOSE of the pawn push is to open lines .. g4 threatens g5 attacking his h pawn AND his knight he either lets you open a line or loses a knight You need to understand the initiative, make moves that both further your plan .. here attack his king …AND that he has to react to because then he can’t follow his plan he has to react to you that’s called the initiative, good players prize the initiative very very highly

Good position and strategy for this game, besides the blunder, your idea was good. You have a tendency for the super aggressive openings, with long castle and throwing pawns at the king. That style suits your way of playing, however, you won't see an improvement in the short term because you need to be very sharp for the very aggressive style of playing. In this level you need just to not blundering pieces. Although it is good to see you have a style.

A very nice game up until you blundered Rh3! You showed some great tactical understanding and ripped open your opponent’s kingside with a clever clearance maneuver with Ng5+. Brilliant stuff The skills are coming together; you can definitely achieve 2000 if you keep up that kind of play and stamp out the 1-move blunders - I think the best piece of advice anyone could offer you at the moment is to switch to playing 15 | 10 rapid games. I notice in almost all your losses you’re getting down to ~1min and are the forced to guess under pressure. This is totally killing your game right now. Having to guess moves in low time is not only causing you to blunder, but will also slow down your learning progression. Your brain needs time to work through each move to further your understanding I know time is a factor and you don’t want the games being too long, but 15 | 10 games only take about 5 - 10 mins longer, and would benefit you immensely. You can always play blitz if you get the craving for a quick match, but there is no need to wind up in blitz scrambles when you’re playing rapid. It’s hampering your improvement and resulting in avoidable losses. Anyway, just some friendly advice from an avid supporter. Good luck and keep it up!

Disagree with the cowards saying to restrict the ratings of potential opponents. You were winning or equal almost the entire game until the primary blunder. Besides, the best feeling in chess is beating someone rated substantially higher than you are.

Sad loss but dont forget you're playing someone 300 elo higher. You got into winning positions which is impressive against an opponent 300 elo higher. Maybe switch the rating that you can search games against a bit lower so you play more people at the same level it'll help increase your elo.

Making a new account for me is the best option, when you stuck with these guys 1400 ,1300 ,you won’t go anywhere unless you played a lot ، this is what Patrick does not do. One game every day is not enough

Just continue with your kingside attack. Usually, it's not best to take a pawn when it moved up. i would have g4 threatening g5. Not h4, that pawn already moved. Take with the knight there is a threat, or maybe better with the pawn. Take with the queen a backward pawn on an open file, and you closed it for him. Not the best. Rh2 if you want to double. Or you could have just exchanged bishops/ That is what this guy, who is lame, was counting on a lower rated player blowing it, and you accommodated him. live and learn. Take the bishop you are losing on time again. don't dither. Too bad that guy was lost, and you gave him the win. Leave the bishop where it is. What one piece is not activated. Your king. Bring it up. You did not move. You thought of moving, but that does not count. You actually have to move the piece. Analysis. It showed you g4 and h3 is the precursor to that move, plus h4 is also anti principle moving the same pawn twice in the opening. You just did not see the follow up which was g5 as I said earlier. You did have the right idea to reposition the bishop, but to the wrong square. Computer says pawn takes pawn since he gets a backward pawn on an open file. That was a gift and threw it in the trash with bad moves. You tried to move the bishop to h6 twice even though it was a blunder. Even after all of that you still had a draw.

The whole setup is wrong. You can’t have meditation music and play a war game. I mean.. you can but you sleep at the board, time is going by in minutes and you flag.. that’s not how chess is played,
