Pirmasis pakilimas ir skrydis Vokietijoje buvo išties dramatiškas. Pilotai tik iš antro karto pakilo iš Pirnos aerodromo. Pirmu pakilimu Agirdui ir Ignui nepavyko rasti termikų ir jie buvo priversti nusileisti tame pačiame aerodrome. Prognozės rodė, kad artėja didelė audra, tad ilgai laukti negalėjome. 15 val. pilotams pavyko startuoti, tačiau nuskridę apie 100 km. visi nusileido aikštelėse. Nusileidus audra galiausiai pilotus pasiekė.

The first take-off and flight in Germany was truly dramatic. The pilots only took off from Pirna airfield for the second time. On the first take-off Agird and Ignas failed to find thermals and were forced to land at the same aerodrome. The forecasts indicated that a big storm was coming, so we could not wait long. At 15:00 the pilots managed to take off, but after flying about 100 km they all landed on the field. The storm finally caught up with the pilots after landing.
Experienced Lithuanian gliders Algirdas Šimoliūnas, Sakalas Uždavinys and Ignas Bitinaitis will aim to fly across Europe in gliders without a motor this summer. Three pilots have completed glider flights across the Baltic States (2016) and a flight to the Black Sea, Ukraine (2018). This time, the pilots set themselves the most significant challenge - to reach the Atlantic Ocean washing the shores of Portugal with gliders and become the first Lithuanians to fly across the old continent without a motor. They have quite a long way to go - 4,000 km.
