On 16 August, pilots Algirdas Šimoliūnas, Sakalas Uždavinys and Ignas Bitinaitis completed the longest flight from Frankewald to Volkleshofen airfield, Germany. The pilots covered almost 300 km. The flight was full of challenges, the pilots avoided 4 storms and landed at different airfields. Watch the spectacular flight through the eyes of the pilots.
Experienced Lithuanian gliders Algirdas Šimoliūnas, Sakalas Uždavinys and Ignas Bitinaitis will aim to fly across Europe in gliders without a motor this summer. Three pilots have completed glider flights across the Baltic States (2016) and a flight to the Black Sea, Ukraine (2018). This time, the pilots set themselves the most significant challenge - to reach the Atlantic Ocean washing the shores of Portugal with gliders and become the first Lithuanians to fly across the old continent without a motor. They have quite a long way to go - 4,000 km.
