Spent 14 hours to hike 14.5 hours with four big ascents and descents on La Coulotte. So say it is the toughest day on the entire Great Divide Trail! So much bushwhacking with no trail. Super steep climbs crawling up with my hands.
So excited to see you back on trail! I recently re-watched your PcT hike cause I was missing seeing ya crazy ass and bridge dancing. You inspire us all!
wow - super tough day - but you are super tough ladies - keep on trekking!! One question - my friends who are currently hiking the PNWT, just below you on the other side of the border, are not eating anywhere near their sites, but I see you are - are you concerned at all about food odors at camp drawing bear attention? Also, I see bear boxes, which is great. Are they at every site? Are some of the sites just arbitrary, like on the PCT, or are all specific, designated sites? Sorry for so many questions - I'm loving following this one - the scenery is superb, and I literally can't wait to follow in your footsteps one day!
Wait, hold on a second. You're amazed that someone brought a 10 lbs. weight up the mountain and I am here wondering how in the heck did someone haul up a big iron stove that you found on the trail?! 🤣
That's some major PUDs! It must be really beautiful when there's no mist, but still not much time to enjoy it while you're bushwhacking. Are you sure there was no ski lift or broad PCT-like trail hiding just feet away from you in the mist? 🤔
