I miss flying. I grew up on an airport flying my dads cessna 120 and cherokee 140. Just lost him in january. Your videos are really inspiring me to get back in the air.
I also lost my dad recently so I understand what you're going through. But for me flying is a great way for me to feel close to him again. I used to go every weekend in our maule m 4. I still remember the first time I flew. I was about 12 or so. There's no way the FAA would let it happen now. Chances are theyd hang you for it now but I was just about ready to solo before my first lesson at 14 with a instructor lol.
SouthJerseySound sounds familiar. I first took the controls when I was 8 (didn't learn rudder till later because I couldn't reach the pedals). Flying with my dad make up some I'd the most purely joyful memories I have.
Just finished watching your series up till now. Fantastic. I grew up with a dad that owned a 172M and flew everywhere with him (South Australia) cheers mate
It's crazy cause I'm not a fan of heights, but flying does not bother me. I flew for the first time last January and loved it!! We flew from kentucky where we live to Arizona and back in one day. That's what started my love for flying. Then I found this channel and love the kitfox plane. So instead of getting a cessna or piper I've decided to get a bishop plane and build it myself. Cant wait to get this project started. I'm way to excited. Thanks for the channel trent and time out of your days to make every one else's day. Be safe and God bless.
Fantastic to see you at Oshkosh. Oshkosh is a great place every year but you guys really were the icing on the cake. Thank you for the show and hope to see you there in 2019 !!!!!!!!!
This is my first. video on planes I have seen l love planes it all started when I was given the opportunity to fly with my uncle. That what it all took I am learning about planes ✈️.
If you like this video then discovering the Flying Cowboys as a group is going cause you to binge watch their other RU-vid videos. From Trent (he got me hooked) to Mike's truly custom Draco built (wow the engineering and one off parts are so fun to see), Cory, Project Kit Fox and the entire group. I subscribe to them all! So many cool videos and adventures to follow...
What makes me happy is that you are well aware about how lucky you are enjoying your life with your planes and your friends. I cannot fly anymore but you make my days guys. Cheers from France lucky lucky guys👋👋👋
Living vicariously through your adventures as I nurse a broken/dislocated knee. Keep the vids coming. You're helping keep my spirits up. Who needs vicodin when I have the flying cowboys to keep my mind off the pain. Fly safe boys.
God I miss Oshkosh. Growing up, my father and I flew our PA 20 Pacer to the air show many times. I’ll never forget camping out under the wing of the plane for a week and going nuts over all the airplanes that assemble there. If I had the money, I’d haul the old girl out of mothballs and fly her back again. I know my sons would love it just like I did. Great series, bringing back a lot of good memories man!
Trent, I’ve been following all six days and for s year or two. It has been a blast watching from Oklahoma. Enjoy Airventure 2018 at KOSH. You guys are the best.
Your videos are awesome! I wish I was there with you. At least you give me pleasant dreams. My 1st lessons and 1st solo was in an 85hp Aeronca Champ on a cinder gravel runway at 6200' elevation. I was 18 and have not lost my love for aviation.
I was looking forward to seeing new Holstein airport. We landed there 25 years ago on the way to KOSH. On arrival, 6 kids were mowing the grass runway with lawnmowers and we thought management was being hard on summer employees. It turned-out the New Tecumseth engine plan was still in America at the time and they were testing engines. The good old days.
Really is fun seeing all these local airports to me (I currently fly out of KMSN), got started learning to fly at New Holstein (8D1) and finished up at Oshkosh!
Man, need to get a KitFox down to South Africa... seems like we can have a lot of fun in this wilderness! Well done Trent, your trip to Oshkosh looks like "Funtastic"... always wanted to go to Oshkosh, but to get there the way you guys did, it has to be "1st prize" man!! Enjoy the show and please let us, the ones that could not make it, have some of your great videos of the show!
You made it ! loved the farm strip place so full of character, these low and slows get better and better, the comraderie of the STOL family is something else and every stretch of the flight is an adventure,I can see now Trent why you did not want to miss this trip,we all love Oshkosh and enjoy every second of your flying adventures, now the fun begins, they will all love 'Dracula' when it gives its demonstration, its a monster which showed when you were all sitting underneath it,have a great time guys.
All of you guys could have piled into Draco, and landed in the parking lot at the coffee shop, no need to take ground transportation. That thing is awesome!!
Hey Trent awesome video what a great week. I loved it when you showed the ADSB traffic going into KOSH we we’re smack in the middle of that hornets nest. I laughed out loud when you said that is enough traffic to give anyone anxiety such a true statement 🤓 then I saw our N number 224EC 😳 so cool to see. Most traffic I’ve ever seen at KOSH Ya’ll did a great job flying in the show one of my favorite parts. 👍
Amazing the build work Mike has done on that Wilga. I checked out his channel...that guy is on it. In terms of car, that guy is basically flying around a heavily modified Mclaren P1...it's already one of the best, he made it way cooler. If anything though, whether its a 65k Kitfox or a million+ dollar monster...they still fly side by side and get ya to Osh Kosh. Awesome vids man....been watching every day.
Gotta hand it too you- well done, Trent! Solid work, and, flying & hanging with your peeps. Still amazed with the quality of your footage, it flows & it even feels like we're flying wing man. Sort of disappointed with the pre- Oshkosh STOL fly in miss, but, can't believe they were flying either... Really appreciate your editing on the trip, it feels like we're only a day behind you.
Glad DLL is open again, I've got a friend that lives a mile down the road and flying up is way better than driving. If you guys get a chance, stop by MSN some afternoon and say hi, I'm one of the line guys in the afternoon!
Found your channel last night and I cannot stop watching! What are your drone settings? ( If you already put that info out there feel free to guide me that way) Thank you!
It may have been a demonstration...but, we all know it’s always a competition. Great video. Keep the updates coming. Will there be a live stream of The Cowboy Forum?
Anyone know of a safe way or type of taildragger to carry a dirt bike as well? Something like a 250 4stroke or maybe something smaller if I have to compromise.
I know Draco is an amazing piece of kit but I just don't like it. I feel like he through a ton of money into it to make it 10% better than the rest. I like STOL but taking it to that extreem you may as well get a hellecopter. Plus I bet it burns a ton of fuel. My favorite is Hall Stockman (Day 3) because he was creative and his brain to save weight and improve his STOL capabilities.
The SKY used to be the limit take a look at his channel, its got a ton of information on the build and how he engineered the changes. You won't be disappointed and the video quality is pretty good too.
The SKY used to be the limit yeah Trent is a true pro. But I have to say Mike's videos and editing gets a lot better as he goes along.the later vids are much better to watch in my opinion.
Hey Trent! Recently started watching your videos, I fly a 737 for a living and its really nice to see the other (more fun) side of aviation. Makes me want to refresh my single engine :D Keep em coming! Greetings from Sweden!
Hi Dee Anna, not sure where you are located but at least in europe under EASA regulations you need a valid single engine rating. Doesn't matter if you hold a ppl/cpl/atpl. You have to refresh it every 2 years. :)
Newbeach I'm in the USA. I'm so intrigued by aviation. Last month, I took a discovery flight in a Piper, and then signed up for a real lesson where I got to handle the flight controls a lot more and run through checklists. The instructor also did some stalls so I could see what that felt like. I'm mulling over continuing, but I'm not sure I can justify the expense for a hobby, or spare the time needed to become proficient.
