Samantha Rosales OMG SAME with spanish! I can relate because I understand everything in spanish but I can't speak or write hahah once I had a friend from argentina, he would send me messages in spanish and I would respond in portuguese, we used to talk like that lol
i'm a brazilian living in Venezuela and what happens with spanish/portuguese speakers is that because both languages are similar we can understand each other most times because words are similar, but since we don't actually know it, we cant speak it. So it's pretty normal to understand it and not speak it haha. In my case, I speak both languages and it's so confusing when i go back to Brazil because sometimes I say a word in Spanish and i think that i'm speaking portuguese but i'm just saying a spanish word with brazilian accent looool
