DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN ARMY NATIONAL GUARD SOLDIER || 92Y, one day drill weekend 

i am a week away from swearing in. when you go off to basic are u gone for months consistently or do you go back home when needed?

So when you go to basic, you’re there 10weeks straight no home and then usually you go straight to AIT after for another couples months ( exact time depends on your MOS)

@@user-ui6nd8nu6x but sometimes you can be split between Basic first and you go home until your next ship out day to AIT. Depends on your contract. Ask your recruiter !

oh noooo! maybe the Marines even then that’s very extreme. The navy because they are in water, probably coast guard as well but the army not at all! At least I didn’t have to!

If you’re considering it, I suggest you do it now early on in life that way while you still don’t have a ton of responsibilities you can explore if it’s some thing for you or not! Type correctly ya bum. National Guard is a branch of military. Just because you choose to have some civilian life or not go into infantry doesn’t mean your service is any less.
