You know, I watch him doing his morning routines and day work, and right now I am 14, and I wonder about my future job, and with Amazon being the black holes of retail and stores, Farming seems like a job you can connect with nature, and have something you can enjoy in life, hearing animals awake, instead of animals in the city getting hit by cars, this guy truly inspires me, because I now deciding if I wanna study agriculture and perhaps become a Farmer.
Walter's Got Talent The sad fact is that animals die on farms, too, and it is emotionally hard. It can also cause financial problems if they are part of your income. We have chickens and I still cry when one dies. We don’t even butcher them for meat, but they get sick, there are predators, and they get old and pass away. I am NOT trying to change your mind, but just want you to realize farming is not going to mean never seeing an animal suffer. This is part of life and you can’t escape it. One reward of farming is having the ability to ensure the animals in your care have the best life possible while they live. And most of the time, yes, it is peaceful and connects to nature in a good way. But DO see if you can find a summer program to work on a farm. The experience will help you refine your thoughts for your future. DO learn as many skills as you can! Woodworking, welding, plumbing, basic wiring, budget management, planning, water use and conservation, basic hydrology (understanding how water flows or settles on different soils and geological features and recharges aquifers), soil science (building good quality soil), and of course, learn about animals you might raise. Basic first aid, too, for you and the animals. Start growing plants in pots in a window to help you learn about soil, light, and water needs. For learning about growing things, I recommend two channels run by the same man, Ray: Praxxus55712 and VoodooGarden. He is practical and a very nice person. But watching videos is not the same as doing, which is why I recommend you try very hard to find ways to get hands-on experience. I sincerely hope you build a life that brings you peace, joy, and fulfillment!

Funny how "really exited" for a Maremma would translate as "mildly interested" for my Icelandic Sheepdogs. Such a calm and wonderful dog, Toby. Love your videos. Greetings from North East Iceland where the spring is at the same stage as in Vermont.
Dude you need more rest man than that. your going to have a heart attack. you have to get your 7 to 8 hours of sleep your barely getting 6. sleep is very underrated for health.
3:08 my gosh, what is this lovely music? Edit: totally got distracted and accidentally posted this comment as a reply to thread I was reading when I heard the music, and not to the video itself. Sorry, my bad.
I love your sense of humor, the music you use and especially when you add movie clips to emphasis a point! Not to mention I learn something with every video! Keep up the great work!
The first time I saw his videos I was in my English class, and it's my first period too. I didn't know what I was getting into but it was the most wholesome thing I've ever seen, and I love how he puts the music it makes me happier and energetic so I can get through my first period class, amazing content
Wow. This is definitely one of your better videos. I watched the entirety of it. Thanks for the insight on what you do. I'm one of those that are stuck in the urban life and will never get out! The little bandit on Toby's back was a riot.
I stepped away from your video for a minute and when I came back Toby had a saddle with some puppet slapping around a bag of gold on his back. I'm like what the... ? He really didn't seem to mind it. That, at least based on my experience with dogs, is pretty unusual. It's part of his nature... easy-going Toby. Morgan, has he reached his adult size yet?
I’ve dreamt of hatching geese ever since watching Fly Away Home as a kid. I used to chase geese in the park thinking that there would be eggs hiding underneath 😂 I don’t think I would be able to handle the noise, so thanks for giving me an opportunity to live vicariously🐦
I just want you to know that "all ducks go to bed" works great for dogs too. We have a small Australian Shepherd hobby kennel. At night it was a struggle to get the youngest in their kennels for bed time, even with treats. I used your method and bed time is no longer a chore! Thanks. Love your channel and a "day in the life" was great.
Thank you so much for taking us along on your daily chores, Morgan. Much, much appreciated during these times we all have to indure. Hoping you, Allison, Toby-Dog, your barn cats and all the feathery flock on the farm are doing well, as all the rest of your families and friends are aswell. Stay safe and sound. Cheers from Germany :)
❤Toby. And, this video was for real. Grew up on a farm in Northern Idaho. We had to milk the cows, feed the chickens, all before we caught the bus (1-1/2 hr ride), into school. But, I would love to do it all over again.
Thank you, Georgia, for providing the puppet on a saddle that gave us the light-hearted moment of Toby running around the farm. Too funny! 😆🏇 Toby seemed to handle it with great aplomb. I hope his puppet rider makes another appearance!
I have always wanted to ask this question. Why don’t you invest in breeding rabbits? You can get a decent amount of meat and good pelts depending on the rabbit species and they eat most scraps of food. PS I love your channel and all you do with it.
Allison would never eat the meat. One look at the rabbits and she would fall in love and then we would have hundreds of pet rabbits who would eat us out of house and home.
That was a really good day in the life video. I wonder if people will more often be working from home after all this stuff is over, wouldn't that make it all so much easier cut out the commute, wasted time at the office. Oh what are you working on with Jei, how cool
Great video as usual man! I live on big island HawaiiI came across your channel when I first got my first set of duckshere you taught me a lot about raising them and watering and housing etc I'm very thankful I've loved watching your videos ever since I currently have a mix of Cayuga and khaki Campbell ducks and a breeding pair of call ducks, also recently got 2 African and 2 American buff goslings. Definitely have learned a lot from your channel and trying out some of your methods, so thank you again in aloha from Hawaii! 🤙
I actually enjoy how you explain things (and that you answer some questions that might raise) and the quality of your editing is just amazing! Thanks for all these videos!
I'm new to your channel and I have been binging nonstop to get my mind off of the stress of work and this pandemic. I find your commentary calming and relatable and funny! So much appreciation!
Yeah we should let him know about I. Lirpa (aka April I spelled backwards) day. April first in the US is the day of joking and that is why everything is written by I. Lirpa. Morgan’s protective tigers are an I. Lirpa joke.
I can feel how genuine this guy is, in the effort he puts in his farm, I’m the effort he puts in his videos, RU-vid blessed my recommended with your videos.
You really do live such a great fulfilling life and your positive energy makes the videos wonderful. I'm buying my own house soon and you've inspired me to definitely build a shed and raise some ducks or chickens as a hobby.. I haven't yet decided which but anyways thanks for the great content.
Paskal Letonja Research the laws on raising wildlife or farm animals on whatever property you buy so that it won’t become a problem when you buy your house.
If your a farmer you do all the jobs. If your talking primary money making job to afford the farm ask you advisor at school. They have tests you can take that show where interests lie.
Loved spending the day with you. Love watching all your videos & I don't think you talk to much. Your always very infomative & articulate & enjoy your talks.
I’m a new subscriber and have been watching your videos one after another. I love your channel, the fowl you raise, and Toby. I also love the music you play in your videos. They really add drama to the antics of your ducks, chicken, geese, etc. you’re very sensitive to your animals’ moods and needs. Your videos are edifying as well as entertaining. Continue to do the good work you do!
I love the beautiful landscape of your Vermont farm and the surrounding area. It's so peaceful. Toby Dog's giving the cowboy a ride is adorable. The music that goes with it is very appropriate, too.
I feed my 2 dogs and 2 cats raw food and they love it and thrive on it. They have lots of energy, muscle tone, great teeth, and beautiful soft fur. Especially my black cat David. He's a masterpiece
You're on the money about seedlings, this year I'm paying $63 for just 10 + some seeds for my garden, because the only place that will do curbside is the town specialty nursery. I'm thankful every day that I was in the habit of saving seed packets from previous years, otherwise I'd be in trouble!
OMG!!!! Your spirit and Just...Pure Joy you Genuinely have makes my day! Watching Toby run with the cowboy/Toy on his back..Was Absolutely Adorable💕Thank you for sharing your Homestead with us!
You definitely have a FULL life! I love the layout of your farm~ it's so neat, kind of like an hourglass shape.⏳ And Toby dog's bank robber cowboy, makes him more adorable than ever~ cracked me up when he was running🤣🤣🤣 Love your channel, thanks for sharing your life❣
Your days are huge. Well done for living your life to the max. I look forward to finding videos I’ve missed and the new ones coming up. Love watching your world over your shoulder. Tell TobyDog my three rascals send a Howdy from Kansas, the state everyone flies over.
Morgan, It's always a joy to share your luck! The two of you have made it yourselves. Your refreshing, straightforward outlook gives me a boost. Farm on! Regards Stephen.
O. M. G. 1:58 feels like my life sometimes when I am filming/editing. I’ll get 90% through what I want to say, and then just stop and restart all over.
Lol so funny 😂😂 Lil Barn Cat is laughing at Toby because he’s wearing a cowboy that just robbed a bank! Toby is the Get Away Dog😂😂. Toby is beautiful!!
if they geese attack you again push down on their backs just enough to make them lay down but not so much to hurt them do this every time they attack you and they will learn to respect you, its worked for me with ducks and geese
Same thing goes for shamos,Japanese fighting cocks, when they grow up they want to see if they can become the boss...but if you show him who is the real boss some even protect you like a bodyguard...man are they adorable and cool....
Great video, i h.c ave three geese that can easily defend themselves. The other day one of them attacked me, we have 1 embden, 1 african, and 1 mixed of both. They are all 8 years old and love their pond, we are also getting 20 ducklings this weak from a hatchery. BTW lets get gold shaw to 100k subs.
Just stumbled on your channel. Thanks for making these videos, very cool to see your farming experience, something I frankly have never experienced before watching your videos. Majors props for how hard you work man.
About the mouse problem, you can consult fellow youtuber Shawn Woods which trap to get to be as effective as possible. Not only the cats, but the chickens and the geese would love to eat some mice snack, hah.
26:20 - The goose has the taste for blood... I expect a horror movie spinoff with a marauding Justin at the sharp end of the goose apocalypse. That, or Morgan transforms into some sort of goose-zombie hybrid.
I don’t think you talk too much on your videos; in fact, you talking in your videos and explaining things is what made me subscribe. I am a new subscriber because one of your videos came up on my RU-vid feed. I watched a couple of videos before I subscribed and then I was hooked. I like you and your wife and your farm. I live in south eastern Indiana and I grew up on a small farm with just about every kind of animal and a big garden and fruit trees and beehives. We had ducks among various other fowl but no geese. I will enjoy getting to know you. Love, Gwen
Loved watching your day in the life! I am now personally exhausted from watching you. You make my day, I have a spine problem that has my spine looking like Z for Zorro! When I watch you and Toby I can get my mind to forget the severe pain and the fact that my legs don't work anymore ! I can travel over your farm with you. Thank You! JUDI P.
What gorgeous scenery! Animals can actually understand when you talk to them. Perhaps next time, you might try asking the male goose for permission before entering and saying hello first and asking them how they are. Might make a difference. And please don't wring the goose's neck, they're very sensitive creatures!
You get so much done in a day, I also started working from home because of the pandemic, i have a few ducks and some sheep, but my dad helps me feed them in the morning since i still have yo work from 7 to 4 and have to be in front of the computer. Greetings from Veracruz México
Morgan, bless your sweet heart and also bless the loving heart of your wife. I cannot commend or thank Alison enough (hope I spelled that correctly). I believe that in the past, the medical personnel of this country and the world have not been recognized enough for the true sacrifice that they make on the behalf of every other person. You sir have yourself an honest to God angel and it brings me such hope and joy to see the two of you together. Cheers to many many more years of happiness and success!!
I just found this channel -and I love it. I've binged about 30 hours in the last 2 weeks. You're great, your wife is a babe, I love your animals, and I respect what you're doing with your farm, and I love the personality and love that shines through your videos. I hope this channel takes off, I can definitely see you with 600k + subscribers. That will make your life so much easier financially - how cool would it be if you could dedicate your whole time to extending your flocks and paddocks. If you ended up with a million + subscribers you would have so many amazing opportunities to show us more of your farm life. You're doing a fab job, and the content you share is of a really high quality. i wish you all the best, and I hope your channel pops off like it deserves.
And I can’t fathom how much longer making this video made this day for you. All the extra check ins and angles and explanations (and the editing to go along with all of that!) I loved it (and appreciate it!) very much!!
