The most common occupations for players who were stars in college but couldn't make the NFL is selling cars or selling insurance in the city you went to college. You already have a built in customer base of people who adore you.
That’s an old time reality. Most young guys end up in tech or the business world. Selling cars are for guys who didn’t play sports and didn’t make it in the business world after graduating from college (goes they didn’t do well in business school).
No just recently we had a Heisman trophy winner that didn't go pro and started using his following to sell heat and air so it still happens quite often.
Y'all gotta watch more of McAfee. Not only does he explain all of the nuances of different types of kicking and punting, but he's also just a character all around that's a good time watching lol
I actually go to the University of Oklahoma. Turk is a great guy and one of the best punters in the nation. Y’all should check out a game day video. Boomer Sooner!
You guys should react to the Tennessee Alabama game highlights and the celebrations after the game. Truly a one of a kind atmosphere for sports and one of the best games ever.
What’s crazy to me is Tennessee had a quarter back a few years ago, josh Dobbs, who was literally majoring in rocket science while being a full time athlete. Idk how he managed the time. I’m just a regular student and I’m barely squeezing everything in
@@billy9497able Just sounds kinda silly. There is no degree for rocket science, it's called aerospace engineering. There isn't really much hair splitting between the two as one isn't a degree and one is. Plus a rocket and an airplane are quite different.
@@LucidDream bro… I used it as an exaggeration. I live in Knoxville and have followed them my whole life. I know there isn’t a degree called rocket science. This really is a dumb hill to die on
Had a friend who played Univ linebacker. Once bitched, when others were going out for crap fast food, that he HATED food because he had to eat 4000-6000 calories a day to keep his body right with his workout demands and it was pretty defined. Sure he had "cheat" moments and I know he drank some, but he had to keep on that "chore" enough of the time that a meal wasn't fun or enjoyable. But he got to play a game and get a full ride so....
It's trippy for me seeing you guys react to Turk's videos. Being that I'm well familiar with both of y'all, and his university has always been my favorite football team.
I played D1 ball too, and I don't see where he ever went to class. I'd also get up at 5am, go to conditioning, take a shower, go to class starting at 8am. I couldn't schedule a class after 1pm because practice would start at 3pm and go until 7pm (at least). We'd have dinner in the clubhouse, cuz yeah we had a lot of perks like a cafeteria with our own nutritionists (bragging now), then I'd go to the library until sometimes 1 or 2 in the morning studying because I was a history major and we had to read a shit ton of books and write papers, then get little to no sleep then rinse and repeat.
The Jordan Brand is a special sponsorship thus all the gear includes the logo of Michael soaring for the dunk - a basketball player on football "stuff." The last I knew there were just four football teams sponsored: Michigan (UM), North Carolina (UNC), Florida (UF), and OU.
Was in a frat at a college that you certainly know, frat house is a multi million dollar 3 story tall frat house, the football players get the pass, they wanna come to a party? No questions asked, they’re heros on campus, even had a guy from my highschool on the college team. Not to mention a lot of girls love frat guys but imo they like the football players even more & Einsteins on campus was a must, got those cream cheese everything bagels constantly
A lot of guys who don’t go pro go into sales or real estate I know a few guys at my company who used to play baseball in the minors but didn’t make it in the majors
If you haven't seen train car racing, you need to check this out. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yMO4JtdBPoI.html Before you watch, there are a couple of things you should know. 1. This is not my video, nor did I film it. I have been to these races and they are chaos and so fun. 2. The front car has the motor and gas pedal, the middle car has nothing (no motor, no person), the last car has the brakes.3. Enjoy.
You reacted to Alabama. Alabama is the standard for all of the facilities of top programs. They are the leaders in athletic technology. Also, graduation rate is quite high for top athletic programs.
Turk is a high energy guy and does tend to talk fast. He is also very religious, so you will hear a lot of bible verses and phrases like “ Lord willing”, and “Praise God” thrown in a lot. But he is a great guy and an exceptional punter.
Please react to "AMAZING! Best Stadium at NIGHT! Inside Neyland Stadium! Pregame Show & Entrance! Vols Win" the most amazing American football Stadium you will see. College Football > Professional Football. There is NOTHING like this stadium. It's not simply one of the largest in the world it's that unlike most it's not a chili bowl, rather it raises straight up like the roman coliseum. The light show, the sound, and yes even pyrotechnics are second to none. F35's are the cherry on top. The recent Halloween game was insane.
Added bonus....Anything with Neyland and or Tennessee Volunteers is gonna get a TON of clicks right now, it's the hottest thing in college football this season. The upcoming game this weekend is being billed as college game of the decade.
it’s unreal the amounts of free shit you get when you play college sports lol… like legit those naked drinks that are like $5 a bottle, there will be whole fridges full lol
Did anyone notice he didn't have 3-4 lectures and labs like most college students as most good schools? Those academic tutoring centers help them memorize 10 questions for their "recreational management studies" quiz because the quiz was the same as last year and the year before for athletes. Some programs like the University of North Carolina had no class attendance, no reports, no exams, no reading list, no text for their ball players. Now some are suing because they got a free scholarship that is worth nothing in terms of actual skills and a profession.
You shouldn't generalize. Turk is a grad student so isn't required to even be on-campus except for his football duties. His girlfriend, the All-American softball player Grace Lyons, is majoring in Biomedical Engineering.
What kind of real, meaningful grad degree can you earn off-campus without courses, lab work, libraries (less than 1% of knowledge is online), practicums, seminars, conferences with advisors, etc.? I was a graduate student and also a lab instructor. Grad students should have classes, seminars to attend, labs to work in, and classes to teach most good places. Nobody has that easy a life - and if they do it is not good advertising for the school to show an off day.
Big time college football facilities are actually better than what the NFL has. In the NFL, most of the money goes to player salaries. Since colleges can't pay players, other than giving them a scholarship and small monthly stipend, all the money gets spent on coaches and facilities. They're also considered "non-profit" so they have to spend every penny. So we've got athletic programs literally looking for things to spend money on. They have all the frills you can possibly imagine. Definitively has to be a shock when these athletes finish college. It's all down hill after that. It's why I laugh when people claim college athletes need to be paid, and that the universities are taking advantage of them. I'm like, you realize all that money is still being spend on the athletes, right? It's a demanding lifestyle and they put in a ton of work, and in exchange, they get to live like kings for 4-5 years.
That's actually kind of a weaker video. He's got a lot better ones. Try one of the GameDay vids. Kinda sad his girlfriend Grace didn't make an appearance. She's a two time national champion in softball, the best shortstop in the entire country. She usually shows up to make fun of him a little bit
