Just seeing you for the first time today. Absolutely beautiful set up and that truck is gorgeous. Much respect for you drive especially this day and time. No idea what your back story is but someone did a great job raising you. Be safe out there!! Get that ride on out here to Texas 🇨🇱
Good stuff Ken! Big supporter here, i love your content. Being 24 and seeing how you far trucking has gotten you motivates me to go harder everyday. I Started doing food service and currently have a year of cdl experience doing it here in Georgia but flatbed is something I’ve been wanting to do ever since i started watching you about 11 months ago, currently just waiting on the right opportunity.
Bro, amazing stuff , but I love the way that you put the camera on your head, and we can see inside the truck and shifting and stuff like that. Anyway, stay safe buddy 👍
Tips-n-Tricks: If you’re having a problem with trailer light’s similar to what we saw in the video, then try this trick until you have time to replace the plug or socket with the loose fitting terminal. Find a pice of stranded wire (type used for speakers or lights) and strip the jacket away from a inch or two. Now cut a few of the bare copper strands free and discard the rest. Next you will want to wrap the copper strands around the shaft if a small screw driver or nail. You be making what appears to be a coil spring that will fit down the in barrel of the problem terminal. Now just drop in the pig tail pin and plug it back up to the truck/trailer and check to if the lights work now. It serves to take of the space between the male and female terminals so the make up a good connection again. You may need to shorten the shim you just constructed to get the best fit. I also try to make the coils as large as possible so itt can both take up the space around the male terminal and/or compress between the two pins while still allowing the cover to latch over the plug as normal. It’s a weak design that can fail with the tension placed on the lines from daily use or being pulled tight when turning/backing sharply. I use a short bungee on both ends of my pig tail to pull the plug tight and not rely on that flimsy spring on the cover latch thing. This keeps the pins from getting out of shape and fitting up snugly just like they do when new. I enjoyed the Video brother!
i usually just fold a small piece of paper and use it as a wedge when plugging in the pigtail ..simple and hasn't failed me ...ever and i use crappy container chassis daily
Love the content, love the attitude. Hard to keep on trucking when little things get in your way.. I guess that’s why we do it. Truck hard and be safe 🤙🏼
You are so right about a flatbed driver. A lot of the loads are schedule so tight you don’t have time to even think about it so stock up on your baby wipes and take a shower when you can . Kd
Across 15 from that TA in Corning is a small yellow barn/shop always has trucks parked . If u ever got any truck trouble stop by he will be more that happy to help. Broke down by casino he towed me to their shop and replaced my clutch and automatic transmission actuator(big jobs) in a mater of a day. Jaime and his brother Alex are amazing people. Jaime is a Cummins wizard
I am a owner operator and I got a 2006 Pete 379x , I haul steel and coil spread axle flatbed and I am dedicated from Colorado to New York and I am on the road 3 weeks at a time and I haven't got no headache rack , I totally agree with you as long as you feel confident with your load and your chains I don't believe you should have a headache rack and I love the tractor trailer combo I looks great the flattop gives the truck a great look hellyeah......
Bad ass truck! A little over two weeks ago I lost my 2007 Kenworth W 900 and end dump trailer in a ( 100,000 LOSS) head on collision with another semi. I almost died that day. But I’m not going to let anything stop me, me and my husband are owner operators And we are on the hunt for another truck and trailer. The other side was 100% at fault. I never left my lane. I had no chance to react. It happened in seconds on that dangerous 2 Lane Rd. to Phoenix if you’re a truck driver, you know exactly where I’m talking, be safe out there. Make sure if you’re filming when you’re driving do it in a safe way. When you are filming, you were paying attention more to what is going on with the truck next to you and filming in your side mirror. Which is taking your attention off of what you’re actually doing. This truck driving is not a game you’re owner operator. You should be a lot more careful than what you are because you have a beautiful truck and trailer and it only takes a second for everything to be gone . Unfortunately you are paying attention to the filming more than watching your driving and that is so dangerous. It only takes a second. Remember, not only do you have to be paying attention to what you’re doing but you need to be anticipating what everybody else is doing. Even when I was doing everything right that day, everything went wrong in that second and there was absolutely nothing I could do but brace myself. I wouldn’t wish that on anybody! Please be safe out there, fellow drivers.❤
Lookin at these comments regarding your age, professionalism at its finest. You carry yourself very well especially as an o/o. Gettin it done ole son. Keep up the good work brother. Thanks for the awesome content.
True. You know your load. Can’t driving fast and think a big truck going to stop and the load doesn’t come forward. Know your load. Be safe out there 👍
Great content as always Kam!! Maybe one day let people know the difference with weight restrictions Ca. vs Or./Wa. Why you couldn't bring your 53' - 4 axle flatbed trailer to Ca. Love the channel bro!! I've contacted you before and was friends with Jeff Senior. Use to run with him and have dinner with him at Denny's in Rice Hill Or. exit 148 Pilot on I-5. I ran from Sacramento to Rice Hill 3 loops a week for 15 years. I also am friends with Norm Butler. You run with a good crowd and are learning from the best. I'm retired but have actually thought about coming back. Watching your story makes me Large Car sick!! Thanks so much Kam. Cherish these times my friend, they are priceless!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kam! Dude thanks for the shot of the hay truck! My dad and I used to haul hay out of Amity and Rickreal outside of Salem about 35 years ago in his 1985 362 Pete with a 3406b. Good times!!!!!
@Trucking 4 race cars your bringing back memories of when I was 27 years old and flat bedding around the nation. I agree with you on the headache rack. In my early years I did use head ache racks, but later on I took them off to clean up the truck and keep it looking simple. I always figured if I had a headache rack I still don't want that load a shifting. I'm always staying on top of keeping my load secured so that head ache rack will never play a role in protecting me. It's just useless extra weight on the truck.
Hey buddy I believe the Bearcats should be on the passenger side of the trailer and the long handle of the Bearcats MUST HAVE security wire thru a hole and fed back around the long handle. In 20 years you will understand. Maybe.
If you have a problem with the light cord not making correct contact, spray some windshield cleaner on your plug, works most often because the prongs get dirty.
Man you're inspiring as usual!!! The real thing. You look exhausted, I hope you've enjoyed your dirt bike 🤟🏼😎 I'm DB7 Gaming Simulator, made your truck one my channel last year !
Hi mate Trucker from NZ over here we have a blue scope safety program when loading steal products from tube, plates and coils there is a better safer way only thing I would do differently for your load is put cross chains across the front of the steal not telling you how to do your job but looking out for us trucker brothers out there. I've seen guys go down the road slam the brakes and the load kills you instantly from behind.. Take care out brother Keep on trucking 🚚 ❤ oh yeah liked and subscribed 🤙
Should deff have a backboard on the trailer for sure I haul pipe my company got one on the tractor. I'm trying to tell my company to get one on the trailer
Yeah, that’s a quick process. They do that at steel dynamics in Pittsboro it’s quick and easy one shot not banging your bumper rails and getting put on there right. Nice work.
while fires are really bad theyre also really good for the enviroment (minus the smoke) its like a reset button and the entire ecosystem after it thrives its actually really cool. thats why some farmes burn their feilds after planting.
I always took a small screwdriver and widened the prongs in the trailer's socket to get the turn signal to keep working or insert a small folded piece of paper as I inserted the plug into the socket.
Dang you went empty all the way to Sacramento from Washington. You could’ve hauled some coils from cascade steel to Stockton or some 60’ rebar to camblin steel in rocklin from Nucor or cascade or some lumber or something. That steel must’ve paid better than any steel I ever hauled
Have you considered adding a backer board to your trailer haul steel for safety. It would prevent it from going through the cab of your truck. You mentioned a headache rack.
Be safe out there, love the truck. I like to alternate my binders but everyone’s different and a headache rack could definitely slow them down in some situations
Take it from a Californian truck driver. You can go faster than 55mph, just mind where you are. You can stay over 60 and under 65 in most of the state. Just be responsible and adjust speed accordingly .
Great job with the video, and quite impressed by your work ethic to get the job done. Prayers for traveling mercies while you are on the highways in, Jesus name. Amen 🙏 Please be safe, and keep smiling 😊
*Me (suddenly understanding how my H beams show up all fusili'd while the yard foreman is swearing on his high school shop teacher's grave they only loaded the straightest of the bunch.)*
Replace the light cord receptacle with the solid pin type , a lot more durable ! Apply some anti corrosion grease on the pins . Is your color Gun Metal Gray ? That is PRIDE in your RIDE !
I thought it was againt DOT to not have a headache rack when pulling flatbed... I know it used to be but oh of course this is trucking where one officer or state says its illegal when the other says its totally legal.... Lol thats what they do. Theres no actual stand point for truckers. We are basically judged right on side the road by DOT and depends on them and there judition.... Craziest shit i ever heard of in my life. God bless ya my bro and please be safe and stay on top of ya game big dawg 💪🏾
