This is the not fun video and behind the scenes of what it takes, day by day. Sure it’s fun to go to the shows and buy, make deals, talk to people but the real work begins when you’re away from that environment. Log in the long hours, the meetings, podcast, whatnot, you gotta love what you do to do this, it’s not for everyone. This is the true grind y’ll. I love it. Thanks for sharing Ryan.

Congratulations on your business brother. If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life. Just think you get to do what you grew up having fun with as a kid, and now you do it as a profession. It looks like you work with a bunch of people that you enjoy being around and you’re on your own time schedule essentially & you can make as much money as you want. Proud of you man. I love the video. People don’t realize the time it takes to move cards. It’s a process and I love the tips you give / created. Everyone from collectors, to shop owners, to card show weekend vendors, can benefit from them. I think tips on protecting cards, displaying them, new products you find helpful in your shop, etc can help people improve in the hobby. Keep up the great work it’s helping the hobby we love improve and grow!

I see a lot of comments about grinding and hard work, etc. I'm here to give a counter argument. This isn't necessarily a critique of the video creator. My dad owned a bar/restaurant for around 20 years. He would work 60+ hours and 6 or 7 days a week for that entire time. What did he gain from this hard work? Mostly just some money to live on, alone. He was angry all the time. He never visited his children; 3 out of 4 completely cut him out of their life. I talk with him often since we live in different states. He talks about his hard work and what he earned, but he never reflects on what he lost. From my perspective, after many years of hard work and getting raises and promotions, it's massively overrated. You gain money and security, but always think about what you lose. I'm happy keeping this as a side hustle and a hobby. Going into business for myself means most of my waking hours goes into the business. This is not what I want, and honestly I don't think it should be an aspirational goal. In fact grind culture seems to be a detriment especially for children. When I see kids on RU-vid acting like adults at card shows, it makes me sad. These people will burn out early in life. I just hope they learn the right lessons when they do.

I appreciate you sharing your insight, but it’s just that … yours. Some people aren’t wired to sit around & watch life pass them by. You also don’t have any clue what someone’s been through. Not saying “grinding” is for everyone, but your bad experience shouldn’t mean everyone will be burned out, not talk to their kids & be mad all the time. Again, respect the opinion but i think everyone is different.

Love your videos and content. As a Georgia fan that’s 40yrs old. I have spent a lifetime of Georgia almost making it. In 2002 if Terrance Edwards catches a pass to beat Florida. Georgia goes to the National Championship instead of OSU. So I feel your pain. Georgia finally started to come through and win.

Definitely an interesting behind the scenes look. I think a lot of younger collectors think they want to be you because of the $$$ you "throw around" at shows, but do NOT realize all the work, travel, time away from your wife, etc... Now, you better enjoy it now because once you have kids (Hopefully you guys will) you will NOT have this time on your hands anymore. Probably putting all this time in now helps to train a crew to do all the "lesser" things so you can just be the boss one of these days. This is what people need to see. Flying around going to card shows Buying it all. That’s living the dream, but actually organizing figuring out the best place to sell and pricing is hours tedious work that has to be done to keep money moving I know shops that sell so much of their inventory on eBay. Listing on eBay and shipping eBay orders all day would be awful

Sir, I work with Veterans (that are battling PTSD), introducing them to the hobby. Hobbies are great for them, and provide them with “downtime”. I know you’re busy, but would love to talk to you, about some ideas I have, and see what your input my be. I respect what you do, in the hobby, and want to be as big as you….with helping my Vets. 🇺🇸

Do you find that at this point (with multiple established stores), your time is better spent not being behind the counter selling cards very much (you delegate that to other people)? It was odd not seeing any customer interaction in this one. I wish my LCS had anywhere near the amount of singles it seems like you have. Even the "better" of my LCS has like a few 4 row boxes with raw cards that are either base cards or priced like it's 2021. I guess that's why they never seem to sell any. :) Very interesting video - I'd love to see more of this type of thing.

Watching this makes me realize how long ago and in a galaxy far far away it was when our local card shop couldn't give the new 86 Fleer basketball cards away and later using a sealed case to hold the door open.... Fast forward , been to Oak Grove and look forward to getting back soon.

Glad you highlighted the process for prepping a whatnot show. Lot of folks don't realize how much effort it takes to prepare a stream, have competitive prices, make it easy to navigate for the buyers, and an overall fun experience. Whatnot has come a long way in two years for making the hobby/breaking experience almost seamless.

I love watching your channel! I have watched others but yours is far better. It is unbelievable the amount of work that goes into this business! I use to be an avid collector of Michael Jordan cards about 15 years ago but got out. Now I collect Ja Morant cards but unbelievable the prices for cards(cant afford the big ticket items). I am 64 and can tell you stories about the days when I use to buy basketball cards as a hobby. Anyway sorry this is long....but thanks for making me feel young again with your platform! Very cool to show the daily grind that is involved in running a true business. You've said before that you truly have to LOVE cards (or whatever you're doing for that matter), to make it a full time job for yourself, and your passion for even the tedious, but necessary tasks is what makes you such a successful card shop owner. Are you talking about Whatnot? If putting together Whatnot stuff is a major part of his day, should he ignore that? There wasn't anything resembling "peddling" Whatnot; he just mentioned that he was getting ready for a Whatnot sale. Just don't get this criticism at all.
