Day in the Life of a New Card Shop Owner (First Day!) 

I'm a Singaporean and it really excites me to see Geoff's dreams come true. We don't have a huge card-collecting community in Singapore, but it is slowly growing. It is so heart warming to see people just hanging out in the store. I hope one day I can be there at the store, to make some friends and just talk about cards.

Even with all the hate, you keep pressing forward to help change the hobby for the better! Keep grinding and even if this endeavor doesn't pan out, you've made some moves that will make a difference in how we look at hobby shops!

Love the family interaction. The fact that your wife had the biggest smile of anybody means you must be doing something right. Dream shop for sure. Hope you all bring liquidity to the hobby, a lot of collectors have cards to sell but feel stuck.

As someone who has grown up in Atlanta area, interested in tcg playing and collecting since I was a kid, this was one of my favorite shops to enter in a long time. 1. The employees helping with trade ins and sales had great knowledge of the cards, and if you go in looking to, they give incredible trade in value (about 20-40% higher than other stores in the area). 2. They have an incredible selection on not only sports, but other tcgs such as pokemon, yugiho, one piece, etc. 3. The experience of getting to watch as many openings as you can (depending on how many people are ripping for whatnot in their private booths) allows you to watch people pull the grails we all want, while experiencing the authentic reaction of excitement someone gets as they pull that grail. If you are in Georgia and love the hobby, I absolutely recommend checking this shop out.

Thank you for taking the hobby to the next level and look forward to one day traveling to Atlanta to go to your store and then visit the Atlanta Aquarium. Also thank you for what you do for the kids in the hobby.

Huge fan of the store. Mostly into Pokémon stuff but even walking around and checking everything out once a week after work has been fun!

Are you concerned about the sun damage your windows will cause the collectibles? Seen so many stores ruin most of their inventory due to products getting sun damaged from not having proper front windows

Liked and subscribed just based on the passion for the hobby alone. People like you are why these hobbies are so great. It doesn't matter if its sports cards, fishing, fitness, miniature gaming, sewing, deep sea diving, the people who put in the hours, sacrifice, commit, honour the hobbies and promote the growth are the reason casuals like myself can dip in and out and find happiness and contentment. That mental break from life and work is necessary for all of us, so thanks for all of it. And if you turn a profit in the process you damn well deserve it so nobody better be hating on the 'business' side of things. If you are then you might as well get mad at Kellogs when you buy a box of cereal or the power company when you flick your lights on. Also as a side note, beautiful family, congrats man. If you take nothing else away from this, 20:37 time stamp take a look at the way your wife is looking at you. Greatest reward you could ask for right there.

"2 hours till showtime"... I know you're stoked and invested a lot into this, but the people coming in are thinking "card shop". Don't over-manage, micro-manage or put too much pressure on employees and customers. If you want it to feel like a place to hang and chill, that's called 'home'. Let it organically grow, like a home, nurture it yes, but don't let it overextend you or your family (in store or 'home'). Best of luck and remember the feeling of the card store you first worked in, and card stores you wen to as a kid!

Could not have happened to a better human being. Although it's about the opening, my favorite part is seeing the genuine emotion when you reflected on your first job was a card shop. It is inspiring to see that. You can tell that you truly care about the hobby, collectors and your customers.

For me its for the kids...online took over now yes but i like seeing kids rushing for that card store...thats all we had in the 80's and 90's...we didnt have no social media to do our trades and sales..it was all done at the card shop..not only trading and sales but friendship was made too..good job with the shop geoff and everyone else..support the LCS!!

I visited the shop opening weekend and it was truly amazing. I can't wait to go back and best of luck with it. I really hope it does well with the community as a whole and brings in new collectors.

not gonna lie, this is incredible Geoff. From the excitement of your daughter to the disappointment in the boys face because he couldn't find any Tyreek Hill to the heartful joy in the man who was diggin through the dollar boxes and your commitment to people first and profit second. Your store is an absolute joy. I hope it continues to help people.
