The quiet vlog was very well done. We're taught, from a very young age, the importance of being busy. Unfortunately, we are not taught that is also fine to be quiet. We are losing our ability to enjoy being quiet. There is an incessant need to be entertained. Quiet is a wonderful teacher if we allow to be.
The only time I go out of my rural home, is to walk my dog. I have shut myself off from the world, but I am seeking therapy now, as I am just living my precious life, and my world is getting smaller and smaller. It is so lovely to have a video without words, as the visual and music speak volumes, so thank you for this. xxx
I totally understand this Jilly, I live with depression and it’s very easy to do this. I’ve started going to one weekly group and now really enjoy it. I do have to be careful not to do too much though as I get easily overwhelmed. Small steps, sending gentle hugs.
Really enjoyed the quiet vlog. I'm more of a visual person so maybe that's why? Also, it was so nice to remind me that it's perfectly fine being a highly sensitive person and I don't have to force myself into doing 'normal' things. Thanks for the lovely video.
I just discovered your channel researching 'tiny houses and scotland' and I'm amazed how similar we are! I'm also vegan and a highly sensitive person, we even read the same books :0) I would love to live in Scotland as well. I need more nature around me and way less people! An one day I will!! Until then I come to visit! Love from Hamburg, Germany
It was a challenge to watch something without commentary , we live in a world full of words and this desire to consume them it made a change to follow something that left one to be on the quiet journey with the person on the screen.....sending calm blessings from the Scottish Highlands of Aberdeenshire 😊
I never realized it until you talked about the construction noises. I too get quite bothered by noises as well, like a loud car or a neighbor power washing. Maybe I’m a touch sensitive too. Love your videos.
Hi Molly, I just found your vlog a few days ago and have enjoyed watching through several of them so far. This one especially touched me. I am also a highly sensitive person but didn't realize what it was called until just now. I've always called myself "brittle". As soon as this one began something broke loose in me and I cried my way through the whole video. Life has been hard lately and I've had to get a job in a chaotic grocery store and it has been so overwhelming after having lived the last 25 years of my life at home, as quiet and calm as I could make it. I've just had the epiphany, from your video, that I am a highly sensitive person and that's why I'm struggling so much with this job. So, thank you for this beautiful vlog about your life. Thank you for sharing your moments of peace so we can feel them too :)
Hi Molly - I’m an introvert and I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your clips. I think the life you have created for yourself is an inspiration. Keep on keeping on!
I just saw your blog and immediately was drawn to it. I'm also an introverted HSP who unfortunately live in an apartment situated in a noisy urban environment in Seattle, WA, USA. Fortunately I also live in a walkable neighborhood with trees. That's wonderful that you live in a tiny house with your dog and can enjoy daily walks together. I liked how this week's episode documented a quiet day in your life--Peaceful and calming. Thank you. Jenny 🦉🪶🥀🐝
Loved this vlog Molly.Thankyou.😊 So peaceful and out surrounded by nature to me is like heaven. All those beautiful wild flowers you stumble across on the way.
As a sensitive person, like you, I enjoyed this vlog. The peace it created was wonderful, although I enjoy the narrative in your other vlogs as well. Also, like you, I have road works right outside at the moment and I have to go out to avoid the noise and general chaos that comes with it. As a result I can empathise with how you must be feeling at the moment. One day at a time is my mantra.
I enjoyed this quiet vlog Molly. It was also nice to see your town. Such a lovely area, would love to live in such a beautiful place, surrounded by nature 😊 (I do live in a noisy city, but my flat is located in a less noisy place, which I'm grateful for). Thank you for sharing 🙏
Lovely blog thank you. I walk my collie every morning before 7 so we can hear the birds. I work full time in conservation and need the weekends to just be at home, pottering about in my veg garden and today apart from my walk with Fern, my highlight was finding a very young slow worm by my pond. Love peace and nature and collies😊
I recently stumbled upon your videos and I totally relate to you. Your videos have the most calming presence which keep drawing me in. Thank you for being here Molly 💞
I loved this episode! I identify so much when you say you enjoy some time out in the world, but then you need time to recover. I’ve never really thought about it that way, but it’s just so true for me as well. It felt good to hear you say it.😊
I loved this blog and I'm going to pick up your reading planner to go with my slow living planner. And you are so right sensitive introvert people are forced to live in an extrovert world .
You're so very lucky to live where you do. We have to travel a little bit to hike and get to our main nature places. We are country folk and I wish we would have gotten a place in the forests many years ago. Unfortunately here in our area they are building more things we don't need and displacing wildlife. This makes me so sad and angry. I live inTennessee in the US and we are known for our beautiful mountains and woods but I feel it's all slowly being taken away from us. I do enjoy our flowers and trees and shrubs we have in our large yard. The wildlife we do get to see and the simple beauty you can find walking the neighborhood early in the morning. Thank you for the videos and bless you 🙏🏻💕
I throughly enjoyed your latest video the silence made it feel tranquil, it made me feel calm. I think we all appreciate how important it is to listen to what our bodies are telling us, to slow down, do the things that give us peace and tranquility & appreciate the quiet moments. That's what I get from watching all of your content. You highlight how important it is to make time for ourselves to recharge and sooth the soul. I look forward to your next video & your next substack newsletter x
I LOVED this style video Hippy Highland living 😃 thank you for this calm space... I'm sorry if I have missed it somewhere, but may I have the recipe for your yummy lentil and potato soup... It's looked delicious 😋... Sending love from Brighton 💜💚🧡💛
I enjoyed this quiet vlog , Skye is the sweetest ❤ I love ending each Sunday watching your videos, it's like having a sweet treat 😊 As a fellow introvert, I appreciate how calming your videos are.
Lovely, vlog, Molly; thank you! Your surroundings when you and Sky go out for a walk are simply stunning! Just seeing your beautiful cups, and imagining tea with a book ... perfection! x
Hi Molly, I've been watching your backdated videos and they're so great, I've come from inner city now live in Balloch, I really feel a pull toward rural living. Its a dream that isn't impossible for me, I had my son learning from home years before 2020 and did a project on eco bricks. I didn't let anything go to general waste and stuffed plastic bottles with non recyclable plastic. It was fun and doable. Thanks for your channel 😊❤
This is a lovely vlog. But it would be refreshing to see the experience from the POV of someone who must engage with the hectic world yet carve out a space for quiet. That's the real challenge for so many.
Hi I am from Thailand and now starting to build tiny house on my land and grow my own vegetable all years round because in Thailand we don't have snow I want to share to the world as well that how simple life can be and I love your channel.
Love love love it! It is the life I aspire to! I am a highly sensitive person who lives in a house with my three kids and husband - twins who are 8 and a 5 year old and a 5 month old pup. I am determined to start writing on substrack about my crazy life whilst being highly introverted and attempting to live the gentle life. Very difficult, especially with the twins who are very boisterous! And the noise! oh my goodness! but watching your videos and reading your work calms me, gives me good ideas, hints and tips, so that whenever I can I am working more towards living the life I want, and thank you to you for showing me that it can be done! I just have to adapt and overcome, but your life and channel are my 'ultimate goal' when I'm doing my affirmations! So I really appreciate and value your work!
Thank you for sharing, Molly. I enjoyed your quiet vlog. I am a highly sensitive person as well. Though I love working with the public in the healthcare field, quiet, whether on my own or with a small group of people / animals, is needed when not doing so. Both that and nature are musts for my mental health. Have a great day!
Another awesome & beautiful vlog Molly and it's a nice area of the Highlands you live in. Have a lovely week ahead. I have a busy week because I am going away for a few days starting Thursday. Love 🥰the vlog and love 💞Molly.
Hi Molly, loved this different approach, it depicts a lot of people’s reality, in the sense of being quiet for a fair period of time in a day! It’s easy to forget that for a lot of people, we can wake up and not talk to anyone for at least a couple of hours hours😆😆😆……. I’m going to appreciate that period of time more now that I’m really aware of it, makes it easier to handle the more communicative parts of a day, thank you!!!
Lovely video, Molly. I always enjoy your quiet walks with Skye, and understand how important they are. It's coming up on one year since I lost my dog, Mysti, and I still miss her company every single day. Our walks together were the highlight of our days, and walking without her has been very difficult, even though I love being outdoors. As a sensitive person, I can also understand the tension you feel from the road work noise; where I live, some days the air and road traffic can be very intrusive. However, there are also many times when my two cats and I get to enjoy the beautiful birds, deer, foxes, squirrels, and rabbits that also inhabit the farm. Thank you for sharing your quiet day and providing a peaceful haven online!❤ (Please give Skye a hug from me!)
Molly, what a lovely piece of film making. I need to remind myself to go out other places. I would never be silent...... I spend my time talking to my dogs and cats.......
I appreciated that you mentioned the construction outside of your home. I have had major road construction right outside my house for the last 3 months. They are finally finished and it looks amazing but it was a challenging spring. I found it very draining and unnerving so I felt understood when you mentioned it. Thank you for your beautiful videos❤
I really really enjoy the quiet time of the video as it gives me time to relax and think while I’m struggling with my mental health issues my really close family member has put me in hell and I need a video like this to try and help me out so thank you for your amazing video and channel prayers and thoughts for you and your family love your Aussie family friend John ❤❤❤
Thank you for this sweet and intimate vlog. So lovely to see you writing what comes to my "letterbox" soon after. 🥰 I live a similar quiet hermit life in the Southwest of Ireland.
Loved Loved Loved the quiet Molly! You are so lucky to be able to have peace when you need it. I walked on my own in the lake district yesterday for 6 miles and I experienced a little bit of quiet me time. It restores the soul for sure. Xx
This was perfectly timed. I’ve been away in a social group in a hot, dry place, and sitting quietly with a hot drink observing your calm day was the perfect antidote. Thank you
I really liked the video, just switch off and enjoy☺️ I'm also more of the quiet type of person and the video was very calming for me. Thank you so much ❤😊
hello same s u i am introvert person i like watching your videos, mkes me calm, your house is cozy and your dog is cute like my dog named kaiki.. hope you notice my comment , a girl from philippines .
Thank you Molly for this lovely video. I loved glimpsing the little village that you so briefly visited. It gave a breeze of a feeling of your Scottish environment other than the gorgeous highlands and nature that you bring to your videos. The village looked so quaint and charming and i am curious as to whether you ever go there to just have a cup of tea in a little cafe, and hang out with a book or your laptop to just be out amongst others. But perhaps that sweet village does not have a spot like that to do so, as it does look very quiet. Or perhaps you don’t have that particular need as I do where I live. It helps me to maintain a certain connectedness and keeps my mental health more balanced.
Thank you for yet another lovely video! I've noticed that you read The Midnight Library, I've finished it a couple of weeks ago. Such a great book, I really loved it and the concept of the midnight library. A definite must read I think!
Hi Molly, been watching a lot of your vlogs recently and just subscribed. Love the way you live and find your vlogs very calming . Love nature ( especially Scotland ) we are lucky to live really close to Scotland and try to get there as often as possible but work can get in the way 😢Also love Collies . Unfortunately we lost our last collie to old age a few years ago and after a short while got another Collie but unfortunately she is only very young and has a degenerative brain disorder which affects her balance so can do limited walks with her and planning things is very difficult 🙁. Over the last few years have been finding crowds and noisy places difficult too ( which is hard in the job I do ) and like you just want to get away from people into nature more and more often . Enjoy reading when I can and have bought a couple of books you have suggested. Am hoping to start Raynor Winns latest one “Landlines” soon after finding her previous books really good . Please keep up your vlogs as they are very calming and have some great tips too . Please give Skye a big hug for me too ❤x
Loved this content! Thank you for your creations & insights that encourage us to live more authentically & slowly in an often overwhelming world. Could you recommend any books or other resources that have helped you as a highly sensitive person? Any one else in this community have recommendations? Have a lovely day 🌈
I've loved this video, thank you. In a world (RU-vid included) of noise and busyness, it's good to have something peaceful and tranquil. I find your lifestyle really inspiring! p.s. Highly Sensitive Person here too!
Not me pausing the video to see if one of my comments showed up on the screen 😂. I really enjoyed this video (I’ve enjoyed all of your videos) but as an introvert and a highly sensitive person perhaps that’s why. I loved getting to see your beautiful town (there’s something magical about nipping away to the store or the post office in a town that isn’t your own). And of course, I love to see your cooking videos. That soup looked delicious. I think that I recall that you are an environmentalist, is that right? Could you show us a snippet of what you do for work? I’ve always thought that would be such a rewarding career. Anyhow, thank you for yet another lovely video. Wishing you a nice and relaxing upcoming weekend.
Aw thank you lovely! Yes I do work part time as an ecologist, but I am actually leaving next month to do my business full time. I'd love to include some of my learning in my content though, so might feature it more in future videos :)
Hello Molly, lovely video, I know you use body shop products but have you used Beauty Kitchen, its 100% natural and more sustainable. The body shop still use parabans in their products. Beauty kitchen is scottish i believe, i really like the seahorse products, no seahorses harmed of course.
Hi Molly. I really enjoyed this quiet vlog and especially Skye's smiling face. Where was the walk in the first few clips? I have never wanted to categorise myself but I know deep down that I am a highly sensitive introvert. I'm also lucky that I've started to cultivate a life with my husband and dog in the Highlands (near Grantown on Spey) through private music teaching. Whilst it means I have to engage and socialise quite intensely for maybe 5 or 6 hours a day, I get by and it gives me the space and freedom to have the quiet time I need around being the 'energetic music teacher!' I would love to see more blogs like this capturing our beautiful area. Thank you for such calming content. I see so many similarities in the life you are leading and the one I'm also trying to achieve and balance. I thought it was about time to say hello as I've been watching for months. It's so nice seeing all the local sights like Loch Garten and Feshiebridge. 😊
Hi lovely! This was the wildcat trail around Newtonmore :). I've definitely changed my lifestyle since moving to the Highlands and feel so much better for it :)
I ordered the Veronica Henry Impulse Purchase after you found it on your day out to the bookshops/library. Looks like you’re midway thru; are you enjoying it?
Hello Molly from USA! I recently found your channel and have been enjoying all of your videos very much. If I may make a suggestion, can you do a video on how you and your partner sort out your different dietary choices (you mentioned he’s not vegan)? How that affects your cooking. Does he bring meat into the home? How you share the cost of food. I’m starting to transition to vegan and have many questions around this. Thank you!
I really enjoyed this quiet video but then I enjoy all of your videos! I have a couple of questions : when you are on your walks with Skye you sometimes are walking on a path and sometimes just through what appears to be open pasture or? Is this your land or open areas that are free to anyone to walk there? Also, I love your jumper (dress, not sweater 😉). Would you be able to mention where you get them? I have family roots in Scotland ( my great-grandmother was a Grant from St. Andrew's) and I am planning a trip there within the next year. I want to see the Highlands, St. Andrew's and Shetland. Your blogs have made me more anxious to go and see it for myself. Thank you!
Thank you! It is actually all a footpath, just some areas are quite overgrown! I got the pinafore (what I call jumper!) second hand but its originally from Nomad clothing :)
I'm working full time (about 38 hrs a week) at present as I'm juggling my business and part time job, but I will be leaving my other job next month so I'm hoping to work less hours :)
