Day in the life of a PhD student in the Biochemistry, Cellular, and Molecular Biology (BCMB) PhD program at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. I do not claim any rights to the music used in this video
Hey there....could you make a detailed video regarding your phd application process for JHU. I'm interested in applying to their graduate programs and would love to hear your journey and advice on sop and personal statement
Thanks for posting this Hannah! I will be a first year PhD student in public health at Hopkins this fall and looking forward to being there :) Do you recommend the 929 grad student apartment building? Finding housing has been tough since I don't know anyone there yet
Hi! Welcome to Hopkins! I would say that 929 can be a good starter place to move to for your first year of the city especially since you don’t know anyone yet. I know that roommates can be easily found with 929 as well. However, I don’t know anyone who stayed there more than a year. Since it’s next to the hospital the area isn’t a super cute neighborhood (like you would find in Upper Fells for example). From everyone I’ve known to live there, they all say it’s extremely loud and has poor management. I also moved to Baltimore not knowing anyone but I found a gorgeous house on the Hopkins roommates/lease Facebook page!
Hi! Yes! If you're a grad student in the School of Medicine and live within a certain radius from the School of Medicine, then you can take free Lyfts depending on the location/distance from Hopkins

Hi! I got accepted to a Ph.D. (Humanities) @ Hopkins. Do you think Hopkins is prestigious in that area, very close to more known places like Harvard or Princeton? How would you assess your overall experience @Hopkins as a graduate student? I was offered a 34k stipend. Is it similar to what you get? How much do you cash home after taxes? Thank you very much for your help :)
I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BS in biology and a BA in Hispanic literature and cultures with a minor in chemistry!
Hi! I did research for three years in my undergraduate (in two different labs) plus full time summer research for an internship/REU at Hopkins (as well as the lab I did research in during the academic year)
@@hannahwilkins5786 when is the deadline for PhD students to know if they have been accepted ? Some students applications are still under Review for fall 2022.
