I love your videos! I started medical coding school last month and I’m so excited but nervous to learn all of the codes. So watching your videos inspires me!❤
I have an AAS degree in Health Information Technology. I never sat for the RHIT or got a coding certification, but I got an advanced certificate to work in the cancer registry department. I don’t do that anymore, but now I work in claims follow-up, researching why cpt and dx codes are denied. Anywho, this was the realest day in the life I’ve ever watched.
Thank you! You should have an easier transition into medical coding with the job you have now. Most people struggle with getting in the door and you already sitting at the table (working in the rev cycle). 😉
OMG Shamyra!!! we have to talk sis because I was looking into going back to school in fall for billing and coding. This is so funny, look at Jesus connecting us!!! I setup my whole office to work from home. 😆😆😆
Interesting. I'm in a certification course for this at the moment. It seems like a chill, straightforward job. But i just wonder, do you ever come across anything that makes it difficult for you to get through a task? And are you ever on the phone for your job? Thanks for sharing 😊
Trust me you’re not alone! If you have no experience you may have to get in by applying to job that you can transfer into a coding position. I started as data entry and once I passed my CPC I applied for a coding job within my same employer with no experience. They trained me on the job.
They don’t have a required daily amount. I have other miscellaneous things I have to do in addition too coding but when I am “coding” I’m expected to do 20 chargers per hour.
