I was an MP and a cop and it always baffled me why MPs are treated like children. Never ever as a cop did the sergeant or watch commander check to make sure we had a note book, cuff keys etc. And why carry a gun that isn't ready to fire. Both my primary and backup gun always had a round chambered and the mag top off. Its immensely dangerous not to have it in a state where you cant fire it without having to chamber a round
@@NoFaceINoCase no duty station i was at were we permitted to have a round chambered on the road. Even in this video, they clear, let the slide go forward, insert a magazine and holster. I've talked about this same subject with most all MPs I was stationed with and none of them were allowed to have a round chambered.
Most PL I have served under have been great and an example for fellow soldiers. I only had one LT cause himself to get kicked out of our unit. One time we went to the field for 30 days. At day 26. Our LT told us to pack up and he decided we were done in the field. As the last pallet is almost on the trailer. Our battalion commander shows up. “ What the fuck is going on?” The LT and the LTC argues for 10 mins. The LTC leaves and yells “ Stupid fuck piece of shit baby!” Lol. The LT then tells my platoon sgt. To unpack the whole site and we had to stay a few more days. At that moment I swear you could hear a pin drop. My unit circled the LT. Platoon Sgt yells “ Fuck this shit. I refuse to do it!” LT orders the platoon sgt to do it. Next thing the platoon sgt yells. “ Fuck you motherfucker! Were you in Vietnam?” We slept in shelter halves for 3 days. This was in 1993. It was my first time In the field as an E2. Lol
I’m korean too but born in America but yeah Korea’s president is literally bending over backwards for China. With the US on bad terms with China atm, sad to say this but Jeong Junsung is right. Korea may fall to China if Moon Jae In keeps on acting like a puppet to China
Oh man, this just popped up in my recommendations. LT here was just across the hall me from me Freshman year and actually got me interested in the ROTC and gave some good advice when I chose MP when I enlisted! Solid guy!
Just choose someone you like to be with, can be one or two friends. The rest are either acquaintances or people you hang out with. Not everyone out there wants to be your friend. Don't take it seriously, I'm just giving a word of advice. Cheers.
Always great to see motivated PL's desire to improve the unit. I'll be taking over a Platoon Sergeant slot in the 55th here soon after quarantine, these videos are great.
To those who want to join the military and watch these videos. JUST JOIN! it will change your life. You go through sum stuff that’s going to suck but in the end it makes you into a better person.
You can SMD. I know people that have got into heavy drinking and smoking and some who have completely changed personalities not for the better because they have not gotten the promotions they deserve cause of favoritism, not gotten the respect they deserve because of one mishap, not gotten the recognition even though they contributed the most. The military is a game of chance, ass kissing and being a PT stud. I like the fact you get physically fit overall than what you once were but the mental degradation being in does not make most for the better. Many are also wasting hours of time and not learning valuable skills for the work force.
Nice video Lt iI was Infantry a long time ago and always wondered how the MP's operated. I did four years stationed in Germany & Fort Polk and never had any run ins with Mp's and now have been a cop 20 + years and can retire any day.
Thank you so much for this. I've always been interested and seeing what MPs do, especially officers, but I only ever seem to find videos about MP Enlistees. I hope to be an officer in MP, so it was really nice seeing this.
Thank you for this! I have always been intrigued to see what a normal day in the life of an MP is. The job seems very cool and challenging, in which I’m always open to take on a challenge. Keep up the good work and thank you for everything you do!
?? What we supposed to be at war 24/7 lmao. Why does it matter, they earn that rank just like someone deployed did. Most combat deployment is guard duty anyway..let's be real.
@@simplecookinwithdc4696 in a combat mod having a leader with experience in combat is imperative. How are you gonna teach the new guys when you haven’t even been there? And there’s guard duty involved during deployments but I know most of the time was spent patrolling outside the wire…
@@tonymontanamalverde well obviously those who’ve experienced combat are imperative to an op, if we haven’t been in a true state of war in nearly a decade of course there’s just going to be less people with combat experience. Still plenty of people who want to do it, mostly without the realities of war in mind.
Davion! Thank you so much as a current BOLC student, I have found so much guidance and clear information from your videos. I get a little bit of a sneak peek as to what my future will look like as a MP PL. However, I still have a few questions: Being that you had prior service, is it possible to get insight from another MP PL who has no prior experience besides their commissioning source? I would like to know if they had a smooth transition? Any obstacles they faced with their platoon? Tips they can provide on how they began to understand MP Capabilities without having prior services? Thanks again for the amazing content!
Thank you 😊! I understand what you mean.. Bit it really was all new to me too since I’ve never been an LT before :)! I’ll make a video talking about the struggles of your first month of being a LT
I want to be a mp after I'm done with high school so it's super cool seeing day in the life/vlogs like this . I really like seeing videos like this. Please make more.
Thank you for the kind words. I'll keep making as many as I can. Also if you want to be an MP someday, never stop believing in yourself and your dreams.
I was the 2nd Platoon Leader, 1st MP Co. back in 73 and can see similarities and differences in this Unit. Not sure what type MP Company this is by TO&E but the men look motivated and well trained. Hooah-OF THE TROOPS & FOR THE TROOPS !
They were motivated for sure, thanks to my Leaders and my partner and friend, my PSG. He really taught me the power of building a positive culture and family environment for our platoon. Especially with being overseas
I never realized just how similar this is to AF security forces (MP) interesting to see, pretty much exactly the same, except its mind boggling how your soldiers don't have a round in the chamber on the M9 lol
ameerskater they don’t have one chambered because they’re in Korea, I don’t even think they get OC. I’m stationed at fort Campbell and we always have one chambered, TLs and patrol sup also get M4s and breaching kits and we of course have our x26 on our belts and OC in our vests
Very grateful to see what this whole process looks like. Currently, I am a MS1 at UNG. I am interested in becoming a MP, so this video is awesome to see, especially from a new PL's perspective. Thank you very much. And good stuff with the unread emails, that process is solid.
Go for it! You will learn a lot from your MS1 to MS4 year. Just make sure that you remember to listen to your Soldiers, mentors and your peers!:) One of the biggest things that will take you far is to have honor in yourself and your name.
@@DavionWest hello I'm interested in reclassing to 31e pretty soon do you recommend that mos ? What's your experience or knowledge with that mos and where can they sent to for duty stations.
I don’t have a lot of experience with that MOS, but I will say. They can go a lot of place and be placed on special missions, like UN missions. They spend a lot of time with their dogs and training.
guys in an ad i got, there was this guy yelling "IT IS YOUR FAULT THAT YOU ARE STILL WATCHING THIS VIDEO IT IS YOUR FAULT YOU BLAMING YOUR MAMA YOUR DADA YOU YOU DID IT YOU!!" like who does that just yell at a camera for watching a youtube video about day in the life of military police squad platoon leader people could find if they wanna be in the military by watching this video
Im glad I could help:). When I was looking for what job to do, I couldn't find anything on the officer side really. So I decided to show my journey, till I got out.
I’m a cadet at WP getting ready for my junior year. I’m also CIC for the LETC club and put MP as my primary with a possible BRADSO. It’s difficult already to try and find DITL of an MP, but from a butter bar’s perspective is few and far between respectfully Sir, thank you. APD HOOAH!
So, my first thought was the Medics give the LT 'knock out juice' via the IV line...LT goes nappy time...and the Soldiers enjoy a nice, calm and quiet officerless shift. LT wakes up, Soldiers tell a groggy 31A he must've passed out, but thankfully absolutely nothing happened on patrol, the gates or at the desk. And thanks for volunteering for MED training, LT. For The Troops; yes, MPs are often hated and garrison duty can be dangerous; be careful 31A/Bs! Thanks for the video, LT. All kidding aside, blessings and be safe. And maybe one just possibly overlooked a shift carrying 'hot' (no time to draw, rack and change condition in a fast, evolving, life threatening, potential use of force 'keep the peace' moment). And, a time when we actually wore nice, shiny metal PMO, Military Police, badges. A former MP.
@@DavionWest you have some awesome NCO’s, sir! Stay the course! We more leaders like you. I’ve learned a lot from my junior enlisted. Blessed to have them
RU-vid algorithm brought me here and until I watched this video I didn’t realize that you are stationed in Korea, I saw the South Korean flag and the word ‘헌병’ then found out you were somewhere in peninsula. Anyway, thanks for coming to Korea for your duty, ROK-US alliance is what makes strong for both South Korea and United States.
Hey Thank you for your service!! I was Korean military and company I was in had a chance to learn tactic from them. US soldiers are really professional fighter!!
When I was in Korea I had an amazing stellar PSG! He set me up for success and we still talk today and give each other advice, CSM:)! Thank you for your service.
Sir, are you in the 55th? When I was there in Korea we were the Hooligans and we switched to the Red Lions shortly before I PCS’ed. Thank you for your service, hooah
Davion West When I was there, our company commander and first sergeant PCS’ed and the new captain that took command changed it. From what I gathered from my platoon sergeant, the captain thought “hooligans” sounded somewhat criminal for an MP company to be called haha. I was in 2nd Platoon and we were stationed at Camp Stanley away from the rest of the 55th there in Camp Casey. I heard Camp Stanley is shut down now, do you know? We also patrolled Camp Red Cloud and I actually got to be part of a detail protecting President Obama when he came through Yongsan.
I spent more than half my career as a platoon Sgt. Never did I accept my Platoon Leader briefing MY squad leaders. I got my briefing from the Platoon Leader and I briefed my people. The Platoon Leader was free to go sit in his ass somewhere until I back briefed how the day went.
The PSG isn't supposed to just sit/stand there. PSG is an advisor to the PL, but not the PL. I suppose it depends on the unit how involved a PL is. Some can operate without a PL. It's a PSG show nonetheless, but the PL takes responsibility for it. I can see if you want to streamline the process, but you might be teaching bad habits...
As important as the PSG is. The PL is the boss. That is definitely something a PSG/PL can discuss but the PL does have the final say. Just how the army is unfortunately.
Judt so you know every post is different for how the shifts are ran. At hood we had days 08-16, swings 16 - 00, mids 00 - 08. In germany when i was in mpi the patrols were only a platoon and did 12s
Still don’t understand why they don’t carry one in the chamber, why even carry it?? I always hated that when I was an MP, you give it to me but I can’t load it, what is it a uniform accessory?!?!
Hey man I was wondering about how flexible is the private purchase for gear for MP’s are? I know the infantry guys (with CO Discretion) can run non standard issue gear. Is that the same for MP’s? Mainly plate carriers and uniforms (OCP cuts)
Officer typically do more paper work and planning. As an MP Officer yes you can do hands on things as a PL but pretty much after that position you’re not doing a lot of hands on things in the MP world.
I’m curious about the results of the two a days? Is the focus just slaying them until they pass or some progressive training is behind it to increase performance and reduce injury risk? I ask this genuinely.
Keep doing you LT, "of the troops fuck the troops' HAHAHA. Just kidding man I was an MP at Fort Hood 2003 to 2009 in Shady Ninth MP Brigade, good content keep it coming.
When you join first things to do 😂 Befriend the MP, befriend the Barack’s bunny , befriend the DS AND THE SSGT and do your shit ! After liberty call . Make your chest pieces moves right ! 😂❤
Your videos amazing and they give out so much information. I'm a prior service Marine MP (Enlisted) and have a question regarding the Officer side of MP. I'm currently in college thinking about going back into the military (Army) as an Officer through the ROTC program. I was wondering, do your Officers for MP PMO conduct patrol operations, respond to calls for service, take police reports, etc? I do understand that some officers have desk jobs in a PMO and some are Watch Commanders. The Marines had a Watch Commander and he or she would respond to calls for service with the regular road Marine MPs. As I love the law enforcement field, and I would like to continue to do that work if possible as an Officer. Thank you.
Where is this at? The lettering is obviously not English and I of course seen the South Korean flag. Is that where you’re at? I’d also like to thank you and everyone you work with for your services!
You should have had a helmet on up and down the firing line especially a ricochet what do your soldiers think when you walk around in the comfort of a soft cap?
