Currently studying for the GRE, getting some extra volunteer hours and planning on doing all of my missing prereqs this school year! Videos like this really inspire me, because the journey seems long and hard 😫 but I felt the same way when I started in on my bachelors and those 4 years flew by! Thank you for the inspiration, stay safe! 💛
Kendra Lynne you’re so kind babe 🥰 thank you :) I’m planning on working in a medical spa to get more experience, while trying to get into PA school. You totally inspire me to keep going too! 💕
I am a junior in highschool and I am super interested in this career! Can you please make a video talking about the amount of school you had to go through to become a pa in cosmetic dermatology?
Hello! Can you talk more on owning your own business as a pa, or have your friend talk about her experience, or possibly even leave some info about where we can follow her journey too? ❤️
I am applying to PA school in a few months and both surgery and derm interest me so much, so I have been loving your videos!! Thanks for all the info 💕
@@BlackGirlLovesAnime6 I only applied to two schools and my CASPA was verified quickly (2 days) when submitted on Sept. 20 (later than I wished to apply but COVID delayed me- I actually don't regret it now because I didn't have to play the long waiting game). I have my first interview on Nov. 7th. The other school I haven't heard back regarding an invitation to interview yet but from but after reading their PA forums that is totally normal so I am not worried yet! I am very 50/50 on those two schools as they both have great things to offer so I will be okay with whatever :) Thank you so much for asking!
i was planning on going to med school to become a doctor to go into cosmetic derm but now I feel like being a pa would be better stress wise when it comes to school. Med school definitely intimidates me
yeah me too, i was looking a the benefits of both.. the biggest difference is you don't get the final say so with certain procedures. It seems a bit easier as far as work and life balance to be a PA vs a dermatologist.
I am currently going for my bachelors in respiratory therapy, and then my plan is to go on to PA school! I am so interested in cosmetics and dermatology and never knew it was a specialty PA's could choose so this excites me so much for my future!
I loved watching this video and getting to see a day in your life! I am currently a sophomore on a Pre-PA track. I hope to work as a PA in either plastic surgery or cosmetic dermatology! With that being said, in regards to one of the questions, how would I be able to work in a dermatology setting before PA school? What kind of certification or license would that ensue? Thanks in advance!
Can you make a video on what you did to get into the cosmetic derm field! Any tips, steps you took to start, for all the prospective PA students out there!!! Thank you :)
Peace be to you! This was a WONDERFUL video. I'm glad your employer allowed you to take video of your client. It's a great teaching opportunity (and😉 advertisement) for those considering the PA profession as well as your specialty! Have you found a growing demand for asthestic medicine as the population ages?👵🏽👴🏾👄💉
Should I major in Pre PA in the first 4 years of college if I'm really interested in it but I know myself that I struggle with science alot, especially from the last two years of high school?
Hey!! Check out my applying to PA school video! It should help a lot 🙃 Applying to PA school |Requirements|Personal Statement|Tips ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5mtA0HaVTgk.html
Hi! Thank you so much for your videos first of all. I just switched into pre-PA and your videos have been so helpful. I was wondering if you know how hospitals/employers feel about accelerated programs. I'm on track to do a 3+3 year program (3 year undergrad and 3 year PA school). I know for pre-med a lot of people said residency's are eh about accelerated programs. Thank you so much!
Hi!! Thank you so much for watching! Hospitals don't care which school you went to or what the program is like. They just care if you based your boards and are certified :)
I started to intern at dental office to become a dental assistant and I can't go into dentistry because oh my god some people breath smell so bad and the fact that I can smell it through a medical mask what the heck maybe I'll try something else
Hi. I’m really interested in doing this In the future but I am only grade 12 and my school hasn’t really helped to guide me. Do you need to get a random bachelors degree (if so what should I get a bachelors degree in) and then pa school? Also, once pa school is done how do you choose ur specialty
Awesome video, currently in school trying to get my prereqs in to be a PA for cosmetic derm. I have one question, do you need to have a bachelors like does that give you a significant amount of advantage compared to someone who doesn't have it?
Kendra Lynne yeah, but I’m talking about the associates and bachelors degree. Did you earn your associates ? or did you go straight to earning your bachelor’s.
I majored in something totally not related to the medical field during undergrad. My degree is family and consumer sciences. How can i get patient contact experience? Are there volunteer opportunities?
You need a bachelor's in anything that interests you. I'm either going to major in business or biology. While getting my PCE hours as a medical assistant working in a medspa/derm office. Then apply to PA school.
Hello, I am currently about to graduate a medical assisting program, my passion is dermatology and I was thinking about furthering my education and going to aveda institute and getting my aesthetician License. What is your option on that? Do you think it would be the right step or would it be a waste of time
If you want to be an esthetician, I say go for it!! If you want to do injectables and other things as well I wouldn’t and just go to school for PA or NP ☺️
Thats the only thing that concerns me. I love beauty and improving your natural beauty but im concerned about being around superficial people on the daily and how that would affect my mental health. Im more interested in skincare
The definition of “supervision” varies by state. Some require a physician to be on site, others have a physician as the primary practice provider (like in the case of family medicine) but they don’t necessarily need to even be in the building while the PA is working.
hey you seem like a genuine person, can you please give me some advice. I'm currently in school in earning my Bachelor in nursing , afterward i want to go to PA school immediately after graduation. the only issue is that I will have some student loan from my BSN degree. How would you go about attending PA school already being in debt. I don't have any kids, wife or anything I'm all by myself. can you please give me some options, even if it requires severe sacrifices. thanks best regards
You can major in anything you want just look at the schools you are interested in and make sure you get those prerequisites in and done! #aspiringPA #pre-PAgrad
My school choice has a specific pre-med bio or chem major that’s undeclared which transfers into their med school, so it really depends on the school. Most have the same prereqs (:
Check out my applying to PA school video! But yes, what Taylor Quinn said is correct :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5mtA0HaVTgk.html
