Such a great mindset, when you said “I’m learning how to be a truck driver while working here” that’s so much a gem! People think they know everything as soon as the license is in their hand not understanding that it’s just the bare minimum of knowledge that they need. Great video 🙌
You don't have to stick it out 2 years to get a better tanker job. One year will do. Stop giving your efforts to a company that won't value what you do. Schneider is only good for it's shareholders.
I’m with a tanker company now I used Schneider to get my Hazmat ELD free and left. I started tanker with about 8 months total experience at the time. They pay more across the board and it’s food grade only no hazmat suit required or a shaved face lol.
Megas are good to get your feet wet in the industry , once your paid your dues after one year you pack your stuff and leave , I worked for Schneider for a year then left now I get paid at least twice as much for the same amount of driving and work
Schneider Bulk is a good training company & that's it. I learned how to haul DOT 307,407,312, & 412 trailers with them. The difference between solid & fusible washout caps & much more. The only reason I made decent money when I was with Schneider Bulk was because I had a monopoly out of my terminal with the cross-border runs in Canada. My name went all the way up to the sales team in Green Bay.
I remember going to the Schneider 2 week training in Gary,IN and leaving them right after when i had just gotten my CDL now 1 yr after i make $30+HR local LTL in Chicago
Yeah Schneider is super strict on their filming policies. But whatever it’ll just bring out our most creative side 😉 Loving your content. Keep pushing and keep creating 💕
I went straight to doing fuel hauling straight out of CDL school a few years back. It’s a myth that you have to go to these mega companies to get experience.
Well, that’s the thing. You went into fuel hauling during the perfect time. They were desperate for truckers. Nowadays, it’s much more difficult to get a fuel hauling job straight out of CDL school. There are exceptions to the rule, but most people aren’t gonna be that lucky.
Been following your page for a minute, a lot of great content! I got my class a 6 months ago but took a local class b roll off/tanker job. I’m fully endorsed, twic & manual transmission. Ready to get behind the wheel of a tractor trailer. Stuck between Schneider’s tanker regional division & a different company’s flatbed regional division. What do you think is better l? I’ll get more home time with flat bed but my dream trucking job is local class a fuel haul tanker soooo
Well I’m biased, so I’ll always recommend tanker because I don’t really know anything else 🤣. I just think it’s the best because it’s specialized, high paying, always in demand
Thankful for your vids!! I’m heading to Cory tomorrow to start bulk training. Hoping I can tough it out for at least a year. But I’ll have to drive 3 hours from the OC for my home time which is insane to me, I dunno 😅
@@Tay.juhWoods according to my recruiter, no. I live around Louisa Ky, they have me parking up in Cincinnati Ohio. (3 hours 17 mins) I asked about a Quala wash in Charleston WV (1.5 hour away) & they said no, I can’t park there, maybe after I get one year. I thought it was a little crazy honestly lol
@@Tay.juhWoods I’m definitely going to give it a go, and see how things go! Everyone I’ve communicated with seems really nice and helpful, I’m hopeful with going here haha 🤞🏼
After a year I would look into fuel hauling or ltl. If kenan, quality carriers is in your area, they will take you after a year. Don't make the mistake I made in job hopping.
I’m starting my ecolab account in a couple of weeks idk if the pay is higher because i already been with the company for 4 months or they increase the pay of the account Pay Details 2: Driving Hourly: $0.00 Mileage: $0.55 On Duty Hourly: $15.00 Shipment: $0.00
How is that even fair lol? I’ve been trucking for 11 months and I only got a 2 cent raise. You literally make more than me. I make 54 cpm…I started off at 52 CPM
No. Not true. They don’t base wages off cost of living. They base it off experience level. I met someone with 8 months experience on the Ecolab account and they were making 63 cpm… so it’s like Schneider doesn’t take care of their current employees that get experience through them, but new employees with experience, they start them off with a good CPM. It’s really ridiculous. As for per diem, you don’t pay taxes on 20 Cents of that 55 cents.
They are. I can only film at public places. Also can’t film myself pre-tripping anymore. And driving footage can only be via a dash cam set up. I just gotta get creative.
@@Tay.juhWoods Props to you and cool to see videos like this. Btw when it comes to big companies like us, the top paying accounts are dedicated. I started 69cpm at Walmart dedicated and at 77cpm now, on duty time and load pay. It adds up quick.
Honestly, a lot end up leaving after a month 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Trucking is a very unique industry. Only 50% make it to 1 year. And most don’t make it to 1 year with at least one company. And no, Schneider doesn’t offer that much more pay unless you decide to go on a dedicated account or one of these special accounts that only the people on the inside know about
@@Tay.juhWoods That model must work for them though I have to wonder how much all that turnover costs them. I used to drive public transit but left that about a year after covid and my bus got shot up... Decided to get my class A and I was able to land a job hauling fuel and have not looked back. Made over 110k my first year. The job market has tightened up some as most fuel companies are no longer hiring people directly out of truck driving school.
@@HeyArnoldGotAFootballHead I actually had an owner operator install it for me. He was very through in tuning it for me and setting up the antenna. So I really couldn’t answer that for you lol
You are getting paid to learn a trade. The other option is to pay a school lots of money for a trade. Stick it out for 2 years and you can be making over $100,000 at one of the smaller companies.
@@Tay.juhWoods damn lol bc i was bout to start type shit. But the cents per mile n per hour shit made me tell her imma think bout it. Then i gotta cut my beard idk if its worth all that but i need some experience 😆
@@daberry9159 if you get 6 months, you can jump ship to Indian River, and you can grow your beard back out… honestly… I’m about to post my latest paystub on my community tab because I just watched a live from Chasing Andrew Jackson’s channel. He use to work for quality carriers, a competitor to Schneider bulk. Their contracted freight goes for $15 per mile, for sulfuric acid. I’m sure Schneider’s Ecolab freight goes for the same rate because we also haul acid and caustic. My last paycheck was $546, after taxes. I’m dead serious 😂😂😂
@@daberry9159 that’s the rate for a motor carrier. So of course the company driver gets paid pennies on the dollar. I could’ve made more last week but I messed up my eye at the TA truck stop. So I just stayed home because i was embarrassed.
@@Haitiancowboyhtx I hope they give you good miles. But since it’s bulk, you’ll probably average 1800-2200 a week… and they’ll tell you that’s good miles 🙄🙄🙄
Love your vlogs and the information I learned from them. Just be careful because I seen companies use loopholes to get rid of drivers for this exact reason. Keep up the good work! 🫡
