Working from 9 to 6 seems very hectic. We'd love to see videos about your life after work because most programmers I know in real life aren't really into sports, especially football/soccer, like you are, or how you stay in shape since you spend most of your day on a laptop. So, we'd appreciate that kind of video. Anyway, keep it up, man, and godspeed.

All these "day in the life of software engineer" videos are so relaxing to watch and genuinely make me excited for what could happen after university. Only thing I don't like is they all feel so lonely. I mean every day from 9-6 it's just coding, web conferencing and more coding. The days I've spent coding for that long make me feel like a zombie :/.

love the vibe of these videos, as someone who conducts interviews on potential candidates, do you have any tips on how i could overcome the fear of interviews, i apply to internships and although all Ive gotten is no so far, i do think Im holding myself back from applying to more companies due to this extreme fear i have of being asked a question on an interview that i just cant answer. great video again, and keep up the awesome work

this is actually the most important part of succeeded in technical interviews. Doing mock interviews is the best way to improve at this and drastically become better. I would leverage Pramp or Interviewing.io to help with your mocks. Hope this hepls man :)

Hyped to see your channel grow so much - but with the effort + quality of the videos it definitely makes sense! One question - at Amazon our PRs are called CRs (code reviews) so that's what I'm used to, but why are PRs called "pull requests"? Aren't you essentially getting your commit reviewed so you can push it to mainline (i.e. a "push" request)?

so we actually call it an MR (merge request) at TikTok, I just used PR since it is more commonly used on GitHub/more developers are familiar with that terminology. But yes agreed PR makes no sense haha, appreciate it man :)

Would be cool if you could do a video on what those of us who are learning to code should be focusing on in order to get job ready. A lot of the bootcamp/course space really only talk about basic crud APIs. I’m very familiar with how to do all that but I feel like there’s much more I still need to know before applying. Since you work at a big tech company, it would be cool if you could do up some sort of frequency list of the most common code/features you work on as it may be a good indicator of the skills us learners should be honing. Just a thought :)

I wouldn't say I know too many that deeply, but I am comfortable with most tech stacks nowadays. It isn't really about how many languages you know, it's more about the depth of your engineering skills and how you can quickly ramp with new tech/languages. This comes with experience and time

It's quite interesting that TikTok started almost 7 years ago with the worldwide release just 5 years ago compared to RU-vid which is now almost 18 years old still TikTok took market by storm. After RU-vid many other tried to compete including Vimeo etc but no one succeeded. Even RU-vid had to come up with Shorts seeing Tiktok's short video popularity. Moral of the story is, if you come up with a twist, there is always a market.
