I'm a 24 year old, recent graduate working at a high growth startup! Though I work remotely full time out of Houston, I visit Seattle every 5-6 months. This time, I'm with my brother and we're going to hang out in the Microsoft Redmond campus with a good friend of mine from Rice. We'll walk you through a day in our lives as we work in-person from the office.
You'll see my usual day-to-day routine working in person, from coding and debugging sessions to casual hangouts and lunches with coworkers. And you'll get to see the beautiful city of Seattle!

So why these videos are always about commute, nice view , eating, free stuff and never about what you actually do as a SE. I mean what's the point if you are motivating people based on materialistic things and don't share about what you learnt there from so many good developers around you. Take their interview or a discussion about a topic that is relevant to SE. Share good practices you follow..

To put it simply, the code doesnt change, its always the way you write it, infact the actual coding part of the job is constant in every SE job, you simply get a task and complete it, and if every job follows this format then theres no point in show casing this, rather they show you what their company offers to do these tasks

I love your channel, I recently came across your channel and legit started bingewatching all of your videos in a day. You're a really REALLY GOOD content creator. I love your videos, dont ever stop. Also I'm currently preparing for my university entry test (im gonna start university if everything goes well by September of this year, Im gonna pursue Cs/Se.) I’m a recent college grad (comp sci and english major) with no professional programming experience (internships, etc.). Currently trying to pursue a career in software engineering and your videos have been extremely helpful, and provide a cool added aesthetic! Currently doing 100 days of code: The complete python Bootcamp and am enjoying it, stumbled on your channel and it's great content so have subbed and will keep an eye on it! I tried cs50x a couple year ago and didn't get into it but this bootcamp has grasped me way more. I might give it another go once i complete this one though.

I’m actually intern at Microsoft now, and I just have to ask what side where you guys on??? I work in one of the studios and it doesn’t look anywhere near as cool as the buildings you guys were in (I also haven’t really explored much though either).

hmm i haven’t heard of many software engineering majors, usually it’s computer science - i’d recommend computer science with maybe some software engineering specific classes

The hard part for me is balancing work life and school life :/ I’m the first in my family that’s going to college and I hope I also have time to work to pay for my housing and things I need to take care of my family and I’m so scared cause this is a new journey for me but I’m glad I’m taking risks and I just hope this is a good one
