In residential service work I’m always going in tight places in addicts to either run wire are make junctions (keep in my these addicts get up to about 160 degrees hot in them during the summer depending on where you live) . I find most houses tend to have wasp flying around during the summer in plus breathing in insulation makes me congested as hell. I’d recommend wearing a mask and bringing wasp spray.

@Montesmike15

What about saturdays? How far do you find yourself driving/traveling for work. Do they really make as much as people say online . 55k yearly? Do you recommend going to a local adult school and completeing a 9month program or entering as an apprentice? I’m asking because i’m currently a parttime college student working part time and on sayurdays i work all day which i hate. So i’m stuck in this situation of idk what to do i just want to to make decent money and work weekdays and have weekends free.
@Ryan-hr9hw
@Ryan-hr9hw 4 года назад
@@Montesmike15 1 hr drive is normal for where I live. 90% of the time I'm off on weekends, but sunday is double time. I made $94,000 last year without chasing OT so you can do pretty good. If you are going union, skip the trade school because they wont care or give you credit.
@Montesmike15

Ryan what do you mean sundays is double time? Hmm so you recommend working as an apprentice instead of doing the 9month program?
@Ryan-hr9hw
@Ryan-hr9hw 4 года назад
@@Montesmike15 I'm union and our contract says sat is always 1.5 times pay and sunday is always 2 times. If they have me working on Sunday, I make $76 an hour. If you are going union, then skip the class and sign up at the hall as an apprentice or find a company to give you a letter of intent. They will teach you what you need to know and you will be getting paid to go. If you go non union, it will help you get hired with no experience.

I think this thumbnail needs a picture of an apprentice covered in lead silica concrete dust from overhead hammer drilling 1000 holes a day. I speak from experience lmao. They hung up the MSDS sheets after I finished too haha. Good job good work we'll mostly likely lay you off haha. I could mention for the laughs I heard later the crew I was supposed to be assigned to traded me away for new drills and left me with all the broken drills haha. Those guys are so funny and they were in business a hundred years from what the school told me. Yeah those guys are 'cliquey' haha. They didn't even offer me a mask and made fun of me when I asked for one. They made a huge deal about how they would have to wear masks if I did and they didn't want to because they were doing other things... lmao does that sound crazy? Some of them guys were crazy I swear haha. I could take a shower and a bath and another shower and still couldn't get that itchiness off my skin. When does the hazing stop? I got way too many stories putting up with knuckle heads in the trades some I wish I could forget. I really earned those paychecks haha. Ok good job good work.
