Hey y’all! It's another day in the life of an Instructional Designer and today we’re going behind the scenes of how I write certification exam questions! It’s a super long and regulated process, but it’s really cool seeing the final results! Have you taken any tech certs?! Let me know down below!!

Oh I love that you brought us along your working day! I got questioned by a recruiter how I would work with people. I didn't answer it well, as I had too little experience. This kind of content really helps me to picture the scene! Thank you!

Side note: i like the realistic day in the life videos where the worker actually talks about the work that they are doing instead of showing themselves as being unproductive. This is why some companies wanted to return workers to the office. Keep up the good work.

Hi! Thank you so much for making and sharing this video! Would you say that in your current role you work a set 40-hours a week, or does it vary depending on the projects you’re working on /managing?

Great question! Usually I average about 40 hour work week. Some weeks will be a bit busier if I am working on multiple projects or am helping other people with a project. Other weeks I am working solo on my own projects so can usually get through them quicker! Thanks for watching!

Very cool! How long does it normally take to develop a certification exam from beginning to end like this?
@SamTaylorEd
@SamTaylorEd Год назад
About 3-4 months! Mostly because it takes a while to get feedback from beta testers lol and then actually incorporate it!

this is sooo fascinating! do you have to learn about the topic in order to prepare these questions?
@SamTaylorEd
@SamTaylorEd Год назад
Yes!! I spend a few weeks learning as much as I can and then usually set up weekly checkins with product or engineering to make sure everything I’m writing is accurate 😄

I'm currently taking AWS practitioner exam, but I'm going through a BootCamp with AWS Re/Start program, so I can build relationships, network, and have a shot at actually finding employment

Hello! Congratulations on graduating so soon! Can you tell me what part of the application process you're having trouble with so I can provide more tailored advice? Is it writing your resume? Or setting up your LinkedIn? Or even building your portfolio?

Great content and super helpful for an aspiring instructional designer. But HOW do you put in a few hours of work and wait until 10:30 until breakfast?? I'd be gnawing at my arm all morning.

Haha I think my coffee holds me over until breakfast time! If I eat too early, I fall back asleep! And I’m glad you liked the vid, thanks for watching!
