Spend a day with Rachel, from morning to night as she vlogs through self-care routines, family interactions, cooking, planting herbs, managing her business, exercise, and random happenings & thoughts.
Hey Rachel!! Thanks for showing us how life is going for u!! I am on vacation down here in the south and I’m reading your book so of course people ask questions and it’s nice to be able to have the conversation with people about you and it always ends positively with the fact that you have done so much for the culture. Lol I end with telling them you are gonna do my hair!! That’s my next to do when I get back home to make an appt with you!
Rachel Dolezal of course!!! It’s very interesting and a great read!!! Lol I actually ordered it on Amazon before we left and they said it wouldn’t come in time so then I went to the library and got it and came home and amazon delivered it🤦🏾♀️so I have 2 temporarily lol!!! I’m on chapter21
Rachel Dolezal well first of all I wanted to tell u that Langston has the same birthday as me!! Lol and then the most impactful chapter to me was the last chapter the letters you wrote to Langston and the advice you gave him. You are such a strong woman Rachel, I cried when I read the end just because of your perseverance through all of that mess and that second paragraph from the end of the book before the epilogue is some great advice to share with the world. I know it’s very expensive to do the audible book but I know that a lot more people would read this book that way!!! You did an amazing job with explaining your life! You are definitely apart of black history and no one can argue that!!!
I was touched by a few things......first, how much joy you get from your children. That is very sweet! Second, most of what used to be the middle class is likely wondering how next month’s bills will be paid. It is sad, but true.....the economy is not working for a wide swath of our nation. I hope it improves! Thanks for sharing your day!
Thanks for the feedback & insights. Yes, my kids are my joy ☀️ - and I agree that there’s more unrest and dissatisfaction with the hamster-wheel work lifestyle than those polls suggest (I keep reading about the higher employment rates and overall satisfaction with the economy which has me perplexed as to where they get their data from).
Most relatable was your evening drive. I loved to do those when my kids were little. Sunsets are the best. ...and yes!!! $2 can go a long way at McDonalds!!
I loved this very personal vlog!! I enjoyed getting to know you. I too have an autistic son who is a huge fan of McDonalds fries!! I hope you do another blog soon! 🤗
I am so sorry for the way people treat you because of how you identify. No one deserves the right to provide for their family to be taken away from them. I pray for people to see the negative things they say and to learn how powerful their tongue is and think before they speak.
Most relatable - your financial worries. I was a struggling single parent raising my only child - a son. At one time I held three jobs to make ends meet and still had to get "commodities" from the state (I'm old!!). But we all survived. Retired now. Your life is so full and interesting.
Thanks for allowing us to share ur day with you.. and girl ur a good one to clean in heels 😩😩. I couldn't do it, I throw on some Nike slides and get to work.
Dearest Rachael your truly an amazing and unique woman in your own way. Like my grandma use to say, you can be whoever you want to be. It’s a shame that the world and public can’t accept. I believe for whatever your reasons are for identifying as trans black is your choice and god is using you. It’s your spirit and approach with staying positive and active is why I watch your channel. I say ignore the haters and stay above the hype. Keep on staying positive and doing what you do, in the end you have so much to give and your light will be perpetually shining.
Yes, cleaning in hills!!?? I couldn't do it! And your art is incredible!! I have the eye-bag issue, too. I found using a retinol and a vitamin c serum. I wash my face in evening and put on LOTS of both. Then re-apply 2 more times before going to bed. Last application, I leave thicker. In the morning, a quick ice pack or I put a jade roller in the freezer and roll it over my bags/face; just a few minutes. Then another layer of retinol/vitamin c serum. Has helped bags a lot! PS: bought your book on Kindle. Will be reading it while sitting with my son at his daily hospital treatments. Looking forward to it!
It's not really that much... I'm super low maintenance and acting only wear mascara. So I just put it on when I think about it. The ice/roller are super relaxing! (Especially if I gave clenched my teeth in my sleep!) Hope you find something that works for you and is easy! And thank you, the medical stuff will all work out eventually... 😉
Love 💕 vitamin e oil at night really helps. Love Pacifica face creams but they don’t help as much as the vitamin e oil. It also helps my eyebrows grow. You do sooo much. All us moms do 💅🏽. 💖 the red spot is sometimes from the sun. My husband needs to get a couple checked out. 😂 your kids. Soo cute.
Yes!! I’m still searching for perfect wrinkle cream. The vitamin e oil is cheap from Trader Joe’s. Also love 💕 The Lipbar!! They’re a WOC owned company. Plus love Shea Moisture products but it depends on some of the face products.
For under your eyes, try masks made from one tsp tumeric, one tblsp garbanzo bean flour, one tsp (or as much that makes it sort of crumbly)almond oil and some almond milk. You can use this mask for your whole face, but the tumeric acts as an anti inflammatory which helps a whole lot. Also, you can put some ice under your eyes and it'll help to firm it up. But the best remedy? Sleep!
Thank you for sharing this video with us, you seem like a nice company! And your kids are GORGEOUS so congrats on that. I wish you could do these very cool faux locks on my afro hair, even though I live in Belgium and mostly speak French, lol. I've never been to the USA before, but hopefully someday I can go. All best to you and your children for the future.
I agree with your comments on people focusing on minor character issues instead of the "bigger picture". But I truly feel that internet and social media have really fueled these problems. When you don't have to look someone in the eye and say the hurtful, mean things, you don't have to take ownership of their effects and damage. We have lost the ability to freely and openly speak our truth and opinion because we might offend someone, or we will face the mob-mentality back-lash. Yes, we are finally getting into a more progressive, tolerant, inclusive mindset. But in many ways we have taken several steps "backwards" in our progression. I don't know what the answers are. I just pray for people to be open-minded, accepting, and willing to make the changes needed to move forward. And we definitely don't need another "old white man" in the presidency. The generation unwilling to make changes, or afraid to change. I live in a small town where old men make the decisions because their "fathers, fathers, grandpa's, dad" did it that way, it worked for him, so why change it?? 😳😢
I live with 2 guys I know how you feel. Clean the bathroom and literally 20 mins later the toilet seat is up and there's remnants of someone's face hair all around the sink
