For those of you who got to the end of the video and were wondering if we were able to hitchhike back to Pátzcuaro - here’s the full story; First, hitching hiking in Mexico is NOT at all common practice and we probably wouldn’t recommend it due to safety reasons, but we were just so desperate to get back to a warm bed, so we took a chance 🥲🤭😂 After approaching a few cars that we’re headed back, we were mostly met with complete shock and some solid NO’s (as expected)☠️ Then, out of no where, as we were walking down the highway we heard a SOUTH AFRICAN accent - which is very rare to hear in Mexico, let alone a tiny town in the middle on no where 👀🇿🇦 They were a family of 4 with two young children and we thought, if we have any chance of getting back, this was the universe guiding us. So we approached them and their faces lit up when they heard my accent 🇿🇦 The lady was from Australia and the gentleman was from Johannesburg South Africa. He came from a suburb located literally 5 minutes away from where I grew up - what are the chances??🥲♥️🇿🇦 So we asked if they would mind if we got a ride back with them and they were MORE than happy for us to join them 🙏 we hopped into the back of their truck (Bakkie🇿🇦) with their two young kids and began our journey back to Pátzcuaro, where they happen to live ☺️ They dropped us right outside the bus station and we completely forgot to exchange details, so we have no way of contacting them, but we will always remember their kindness 🫶🇿🇦🇦🇺 Once we got into the bus station, we were lucky to grab the next bus heading back to Morelia, at around 2am I think. We probably got into bed at around 4am and were SO BEYOND grateful to have our warm beds as opposed to waiting till 7/8am to grab a public bus back🙏 We didn’t film the experience at all because we really wanted to be in the moment and we chatted with their kids the whole time back - who were both mature way beyond their years and were just as kind as their parents 🫶 If you’re thinking about celebrating Dia de los muertos they way we did, just keep in mind that busses don’t head back to Pátzcuaro until the next morning, which means you can expect to pull an all-nighter in Tzintzuntzan👀 alternatively, you could book a tour, which would guarantee transport. Jenny and Kevin @eatbailatravel did it this way and made a full video on their experience 🫶🇲🇽.

Seems like all of that traveling was worth it to witness such a special occasion. Can't wait to see the next one about mama Coco!

Oh my gosh, yes it was 🤩☠️🧡 Not going to lie, there was a lot of traveling invloved, but we'd 100% recommend visiting Michoacan for Dia de Muertos, it's such a beautiful part of Mexican culture 🤩🙌🇲🇽 Thank you guys, we are trying a different style of video with that one, so we're excited to see how it turns out 🤩🙌

I saw you guys filming your breakfast in playa del Carmen, I forget the name of the place but the French based restaurant, and now a few days later I saw you on my feed! Keep it up :)

Hola Loupoo 👋👋 Really? That's awesome. We would assume was Choux Choux that's the recent restaurant we were and filming for a YT video, where were you seating? 🤭🤭 Thank you so much for watching our content, and commenting we really appreciate it. We hope you're enjoying your vacations here in PDC 🌊 🏝️ 🇲🇽

Thank you for making this vlog. I was just in Patzcuaro a few days ago and I was curious what Dia de los Muertos would be like there. Too crowded for me. I did Dia de los Muertos in 2022 in San Miguel de Allede and it was a really cool place for the holiday. It was also fairly commercialized but the crowdes were more manageable.

Hola Andy 👋👋 Thank you for watching 🙏. Yes, it was really crowded, we felt it very comersialised, that's quite interesting, we did not know that San Miguel were doing a some sort of celebration too 🤔, thank you for the info.

What about Mexico City celebration, we've seen some videos there, are the other states / provinces in Mexico where is celebrated like in Pitzcuaro?
@ForTheRoadTravels

We would love experience that, seems like a big parade, however based on some research Oaxaca has as well a good celebration 🤩. We cannot wait to experience both. Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment amigo ❤️🙏

Was there last week. Was shocked to see that so many English speaking people live there. Didn't ask where they were from but my guess was European

Hola L AV, Really? When we were there of course was Dia de Los Muertos celebrations and the very few English speaking people we saw, we assumed they were visitors and not residents of Pátzcuaro, but it’s interesting what you experienced 🤔. Thank you for sharing your insight and for watching our video 🫶🤩

So I wanted to ask, how did you get back to Morelia from Pátzcuaro? The bus you took in your previous video, was it still running late at night.

*This is a great question* , and the short answer it's: *NO* . We had to hitch hike there were no buses running that day other than the tours. Which we highly recommend unless you are an adventurer. Funny enough a South African family who lives in Patzcuaro gave us a ride; and we were able to get to the station and grab a bus which seemed to be running at all times during the festivities, There were less than 10 people on the bus that night. Thank you for watching and commenting Jesse 🤩🙏

Hola *Sergio* , We saw a few of them but we did not notice the show that everyone talks about. We could not find the right information about it because we were interested as well. Maybe next time we will research more in-depth to see them. 🤗🙏. Thanks for watching
