Ive been mexico destinations 45 times in 30 years been to playa 16 times and to be honest if you use common sense anywhere in mexico and don’t wander around at 3 am with gold hanging off your body being load and rude , your fine. Don’t use independent ATMs on a street corner in playa use the Scotiabank in branch ATMs. Some machines on 5th ave are rigged to steal your cash, a nice Mexican taxi guy warned me about that and a day later i watched a lady put in her bank card do the transaction and no money came out . The cartel controls some of these machines with a nearby person rigging the machine. Would not of guessed that could happen but it did. So use the atm at an actual bank branch. Ive never felt threatened in Playa ever. Staying at an all inclusive is fine but not for me i like the real mexico and now i stay only at Mexican small family boutique hotels in the towns i go to. Mexico is still my fav destination after travelling to Europe, Australia, Fiji, Hawaii , Panama , living in Carribean , South America, Greece and UK . Mexican people are awesome and friendly . Give out good energy and you will receive it back
Can you please speak a bit more Spanish on the fly, more so for those wanting to learn the language. Absolutely loving your new found channel - from 🇿🇦
Hola amigo! 👋 We have never been at *Mercado de la Merced*, however if we were to recommend to visit one Market is San Juan Market or even more La Central de Abastos (known as the biggest market in the world). Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏

HI Im traveling with my wife and son next week to Cancun, playa del carmen, and Tulum. Any recommendations on how to get around I thought about renting a car but parking seems very difficult. want to see Chichen Itza, Tulum Ruins, and Valladolid and enjoy some cenotes.
Going next week and was planning on getting there on a sunday good to know thats a busy day. Hopefully easier for a solo traveler to join a group. Will gladly pay half plus some drinks to join a group.
It's the same thing here in France for me. I know no one to have a coffee with or a discussion. The French will tell you they made their friends in grade school and don 't want any more.
I have lived in SA for one year. Now living in France. I have decided to move to Mexico. I will ask for a Mexican permanent residence visa at their embassy in France. I want to move before any more problems develop here.
Wow, awesome amig@, Where in SA did you live? That's great news, you can always also get some help from Mily check her details in the video description. Thanks for your kind comment 🙏🫶

9 million trees, multiple cenotes destroyed, 28 billion dolars, taken directly from education, security and health services, we don't have medicines for childrens dying by cancer but we have mediocre train for the joy of gringo tourism, chiapas is almost as dangerous as palestine but hey!, look at those tren maya's views, thanks for supporting this billionaire proyect made only to steal money from the mexicans in order to get ritch the sons of our president, btw there's a GREAT chance that you gringos could die in this train, why? because the sons of president amlo stealed millions of dollar on important parts of the train like security and aviablity research and ballast, the train derailed a few months ago actually so enjoy your trip knowing this
You are totally right SirGato, there are still many non believers and defend this ecocide. As you say now we add the danger of the train collapsing, every day new evidence comes to light showing why the train is built at the fast track, the columns sit on UNSTABLE ground below the cavern, they think is firm but there may be more caverns beneath. The videos I have shared on other posts are not propaganda, are not photo shops, this are real scientists and they go very deep to find out what is going on. To the already existing danger, the new presidentita wants to run Cargo trains, which weight exponentially more than the tren maya, this weight and vibration WILL have tragic results. Here are some proof, is in spanish but english subtitled , share it to the most people you can. we have to show the world what is going on. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vPtdWTLv3LE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ocKgO4AFDfw.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AHcHx_3iu8U.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BX0gxHMjtkA.html
Hi. Thank you for making the video. I live in Merida and although we have an airport in Merida I like to consider my options when traveling. So my questions are: 1. I am an American with temporary residency card in Mexico. Do I get the foreigner price or the local price? 2. Is there a baggage fee/limit of some sort? When not flying in or out of Merida I often use the Cancun airport . With the Tulum airport open if i consider that as an option would that cost more to take the train from Merida to Tulum than Cancun or is it one set price and the cost is the same? Thanx in advance. 😎
Hola amig@, Yes, you can get the local discount with your Permanent Residency Card Per passenger your are entitled to a 25kg baggage and a carry-on The prices varies from point to point, currently there is only Merida-Cancun APTO available, we cannot be 100% sure if even will be a route Merida-Tulum (it might stop at Cancun anyway) You might be interested in this article about Tren Maya: fortheroadtravels.com/how-to-take-the-new-mayan-train-from-cancun-to-merida/
We are originally from Mexico and we love to come visit because our country is so rich in culture but unfortunately some towns like playa del Carmen and tulum have become so Americanized! We are currently at playa del Carmen and can’t seem to find authentic food from the region!!! And let’s not even talk about the prices on EVERYTHING! Insane and sad at the same time. Thanks for the videos
Hola Anabel, Thank you for your comment. We totally agree these areas have been tailored to a foreign market and slowly shows less and less of the culture that distinguishes our country. Sorry for the late response but if you are still in PDC there are some good tamales in Parisina (fabric store), at Mega Supermarket parking lot there are some street food stands that can be a great option. Yes prices have increased incredibly in the region 😞😞 🙏👌
From Playa del Carmen at 2:50 AM, the butt crack of dawn, boarding a train from Cancun to Merida for a three hour ride, that’s actually quite nice. I really think the investment in that train will be an incredible return for Mexico. I have always loved Mexico and wanted to retire there, but I think I’ll just buy a home there to visit. If you make those videos to the end of the line, I’d love to know about some of the sleeper villages along the way that would be a great place
Hahaha yes the butt crack of dawn 😂😂. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Yes this train will help so much with tourism in the small little towns that are less know upland hold so much of history and culture 😍🫶🙏🏼
So do I understand correctly that the tickets are inherently hop off/hop on? So you could do Valladolid, Merida, Campeche, and Palenque, spending a few days in each place, all on the same ticket? Great content, so happy i found your channel!
Hola Monty, 👋 No, they are working on that, now you need to buy the ticket for your destination. And if you want to keep traveling you will need to purchase another ticket for the next place you would like to visit. 🤭 Thank you so much for your comment, we are glad you found our channel too 🙏
Two questions. In tourist areas, do people in restaurants, cafes and museums speak good english? Second question. I watched a lot of videos about CDMX and most videos recommend Roma and La Condesa, nothing is mentioned about Centro Historico ? Is it less safe than Roma and La Condesa?
Hola amigo, yes English is widely spoken in the tourisity areas in Mexico City, but not as much as it is in the Riviera Maya, Cancun, Cabo. We recommend checking out this translator device: shrsl.com/4inwp Centro Historico is cool but it can be a bit noisy, we highly recommend Roma Norte/Sur, or even Condesa and Juarez You might be interested in this CDMX article: fortheroadtravels.com/the-ultimate-mexico-city-safety-guide/ Thank you for watching and commenting 🙏
Better beach club is Martinas. Rooftops hit up Reef 28, Thompsons or the Fives. There's a fully free public beach right next to Martinas where you can bring your own Beach chair and umbrella. We moved here 3 years ago. Most people that live here stay off 5th. To avoid it you can walk on 10th, parallel to 5th. You're welcome
Buenas tardes amig@, 👋 We have never been in Martinas, but we have stayed at the Pelicanos beach which we love it. For the rooftoop, yes we have checked out Reef 28 we have actually someone we know working there, and we have visited during sunset time but long time ago. 🤭 We prefer walking from the 38 streets up on the 5th avenue where we believe is the quietest and we really like there. Thank you for watching and commenting 🙏
I'm seriously considering it. Have been for a long time. I have a fixed income here, I'm in the US. It makes me nervous because I cannot work due to my disability.
Mexico is a wonderful place so is big! We recommend checking with place would suit you and always get the best advice from a expert as Milly 🙏🏼🙏🏼. Thank you for watching and commenting amigo 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Good for You for not waiting until you retire to travel the world.👍👍 Only 48 hours in Merida?! 😢 There is so much to experience in Merida. Although I endured 21 days where the daytime temperatures did not drop below 104°f (the evenings are more pleasant), I was able to experience La Nocha Blanco, and the recent presidential election. Mexico's federal election was held on a sunday, yet the entire weekend the sale of alcohol was prohibited. 😢 I'm returning for more first hand research. Enjoy your travels! Definitely we needed more hours, 48 hours were not enough but it was the time we got from work, we enjoyed and we plan in the near future to visit the city, but most likely will be during December 🤭🤭. Thank you amigo for watching and commenting 🫶🙏
visiting mx this summer to visit family for the first time since the pandemic and watching videos for the nostalgia, this is such a cute video (: thank you
it has been almost 4 years, you must be so excited, are you going to visit Mazamitla? This town is one of our favourite of all Mexico. Thank you so much for watching and commenting 🙏🙏🫶
They simply have animals that are way beyond their natural habitats, and we believe they are in not the proper conditions, they profit of them which shouldn’t be. In our honest opinion 🙏🏼
Great video! I plan to take the train in January, hyper. On the sustainability / environmental side of things, I am very conflicted, for example the Amazon rain forest is getting cut down to make burgers essentially, I would love to see the plus and minus of the Maya Tren in CO2 equivalents. I talked to local archaeologist about the train, and he explained there were so many new discoveries because of the railway. Don’t get me wrong no one wants to see a cenote destroyed. About to get on a rant about calves in cages being forced fed as comparison…but I will let it go…as in the song 😊
Do you know what is the true cost for the region, the natives, and to al mexican, incluiding the 2nd bigguest reef and junlge of the world and some species in danger, incluiding the humans? In the heart of the Selva Maya rainforest, it’s a race against time. Cave diver Jose Urbina Bravo and his fellow activists are striving to stop the construction of Mexico's largest-ever infrastructure project: the Maya Train. They embark on a series of expeditions to survey its impact on wildlife and the environment, above and below ground. Amid an audacious legal challenge to halt development, the group continues exploring the region's intricate underground cave system, desperate to document what will be lost. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_XRt-ZKxSKQ.htmlsi=utNY7bA_2gyei_Ix I feel you want to see these video, and help us stoping these #Ecocide, share the truth and bring more awareness and consciosness !!!!
ASTRALCHAMAN, KUDOS for you. At least there are some people that understands the issue. Those divers are heroes, they go in with the danger of the construction above collapse, rocks falling from above, etc... Their work served to obtain a judge STOP work order, but guess what, the government that says none of this will happen, IGNORED A JUDGE ORDER !, the presidentito himself ordered to keep going, Imagine investors in Mexico, the presidentito in turn can take their investments in a flash. THE DAMAGE IS DONE, now is time to DO IT WELL, steel jackets on the columns inserted on the caverns will oxidize and all that will end in the subterranean rivers, AND THE CORAL BARRIER, 2nd largest in the world. THANKS FOR SHARING.
