We experienced the Dia de Muertos or the Day of the Dead Festival in Mexico, the colorful festival that attracts so many visitors every year. In this video, we share our experience of exploring the Ofrendas of Mexico City and the celebrations in San Andrés Míxquic.
Mixquic is a special place to observe the celebrations and rituals performed by people in the cemetery behind the San Andres Apostol in the middle of the village. The tombs of the departed family members are decorated with Marigold flowers and their favorite food and drinks are offered with the belief that they come back to our world to spend time with family. The atmosphere turns surreal in the evening with candles and the aroma of the incense sticks covering the cemetery.

Thank you! 🙂Yes, it's a beautiful festival. We are fortunate that we got to experience these unique celebrations in a faraway land. And yes, the hair accessory looked so nice - bought it from a street vendor in Mexico City 🙂
