Road trip to Chimney Rock Smokehouse for lunch. Beautiful fall day in the Southeast to ride through Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina, Hope you enjoy! #harleydavidson #heritageclassic #chimneyrock
The North Carolina Mountains and Blue Ridge Parkway might be best motorcycle roads in the country in my humble opinion. Thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it.
Am a trucker by career, a pilot as a hobby and motorcyclist. And I know a barbecue with motorcycle beats "$100" hamburger on a plane and truck stop hamburger. The scenery and the cost with fuel above$3.59, I'll do riding all day with barbecue. Good to see you riding again
I watch a couple pilots that have channels here on the RU-vids, and they often refer to the $100 cheeseburger. I was thinking as I rode back home yesterday that a 200 mile ride to lunch is better than a $100 cheeseburger. We get to soak up the scenery that the plane passes at 200mph and a mile above it all (the guys I follow have twin engines). I think we have it better. Great seeing you, the food was good, and the entire trip was worth taking.
Nice video. I can't wait until spring arrives in Maryland. I have a 2018 Heritage Softail Classic in Vivid Black. I wish it was a 114 cubic inch rather than a 107 cubic inch. I did get a stage II upgrade last year, and it gave it more torque. Also did a lot of modifications to the bike--adding accessories to it to give it a look of its own. I love my bike. It's light and nimble for an older fella like me. My wife rides with me a lot. Happy riding!
I’m an old fella too and I like the size and weight of my Heritage compared to the big touring motorcycles. I’m glad a went with the 114 but I’m not sure there’s that much difference. It’s a beast for sure. I get a lot of nice riding days here in Georgia in the winter but they can be few and far between sometimes. Hurry up Spring! Thanks for watching.
I rode my 03 Heritage Softail Classic to Myrtle Beach from Ohio and what a beautiful ride it was,it took me 12 1/2 hours and that was after getting gas and using the restroom, mines put away for the winter now,I had total knee replacement 3 weeks ago.I’ll take her back out in Feb or March, thanks for the video brother
@@GARamblinMan I still have the stock seat on it with no backrest,( which I could probably use due to 6 back surgeries),but all in all, awesome ride, can’t wait til May for Myrtle Beach Bike week, great time this past summer down there
Loved the Chimney Rock area. Sister in law has a vacation home on Lake Adger, so we road up from there via Lake Lure, to Bat Cave etc.. Beautiful places (Chris)
I need to get back to Chimney Rock. I remember a trip many years ago and the roads were great near the state park. I go to BRP and other parts of Western NC at least once a year but need to make a point to detour from my main favorites, and now know where to eat! I live south of Atlanta so might make it a 2 day trip with a wider arch.
Beautiful area of NC. It’s about a 4 hr ride from my house and there are some great roads getting there. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!
I really enjoy these vlogs! Riding season is about over up here in Alaska, so I'm going to have to survive off of your videos for the winter. Enjoy the great riding weather and be safe brother!
I feel for you but Alaska is a wilderness dream of a place to live for sure. Glad you enjoyed the vlog and I’ll continue all winter. We can ride most days all year here. There are a few cold days in January and February that make it tough but they never last long. And that’s why I installed the heated grips! Thanks for watching.
I see you got a Harley instead of an Indian. I took a ride from the Augusta area in Maine to Lubec I only took one break at a Dollar general to check my phone and I didn't even get off the bike. When I got to Lubec to get off the bike to have lunch it was like I just got on it I wasn't sore at all I have a driver's backrest. No riding fatigue whatsoever and I'm 64 I would have to take breaks when I was on the Indian don't know why but I'm really enjoying my new Suzuki C50T a lot lighter than the full size baggers. I don't need the big engines I don't ride on interstates I stay clear of them too many crazies LOL have fun and stay safe on your rides next summer. Looks like we have a northeaster coming this weekend fun fun...lol
Enjoy the Nor’easter! I was in Boston last week on business and it was sunny and in the 50’s all week. I got lucky. Enjoy your new Boulevard. It’s a great motorcycle.
Nice to see you post a video! I took a ride to Lake Lure a few weeks ago. I agree with you about fall weather riding in the south. When I lived in Ohio I always hated to see fall come because I knew winter was right behind. After moving to SC I think I enjoy the fall and early winter riding the most. Looking forward to your next video!
This is absolutely a great time of the year to ride!! I just passed through east Georgia on my way to Florida on Sunday, when I left the Asheville area at 4:30 AM it was about 40F. I love the Chimney Rock/ Lake Lure area, the ride you took to Chimney Rock is beautiful!!
Fall here in Wisconsin is my favorite time to ride, I'll ride till it starts snowing or they put salt down. I love your heritage, I'm thinking about getting one maybe next year,I like my dyna switchback but that heritage is just unbelievable! Love your videos,be safe!
I was just in Wisconsin last week and the fall colors were beautiful. Flew into Milwaukee and drove west to Janesville. Nice ride through the country once I got out of Milwaukee. I know you would like the Heritage. Best bike Harley-Davidson makes now in my opinion but I’m sure everyone has their own ideas about that! Glad you enjoy the videos and ride safe.
Another great road trip vlog, love that area. My wife and I went to Chimney Rock in May 2021, we spent a week in that area of NC. We finished our clean up following Ian's impact this weekend. Our area of Central FL wasn't hit that hard about 15 inches of rain, some local flooding and a lot of wind and tree debris. I was able to get out on Sunday and got a short ride in. Stay Safe and we'll look forward to your next vlog.
I done that ride just last month. My first time in chimney rock. Beautiful place. I'm in Gainesville. I took the same route up except I took hwy 278 to 64. Lots of Twisties 👍. You done some hard riding to do that in a day.
I love riding in the western NC mountains. So many good roads there and not too far from where I live. Have you ever ridden south out of Nashvillle on the Natchez Trace? I’ve heard varying opinions of that as a motorcycle route but I would like to try it some day.
@@GARamblinMan I’ve done about 50 miles and back on the trace. It’s a very nice but slow ride. It is well patrolled. There are no commercial vehicles but are a lot of bicyclists. Average speed is between 40-50. It’s pleasant, just not fast. And another downside is that GPS is almost of no value. They don’t seem to be programmed to recognize the route. But hey, I’d love to go down it in the springtime. Maybe over to Shiloh battlefield in Savannah TN
Sometimes it’s tough to figure out the temps when the weather turns cooler. There can be quite a variance between Cumming and SC/Western NC. Can’t have too many weekend rides to eat good BBQ. Enjoyed the ride!
Yes sir, up until recently it's been too hot and humid for me to ride, but this now is perfect. Wish it was like this year round. They say San Diego is perfect all year, but nobody can afford to live there.
San Diego does have beautiful weather and scenery. Too bad it’s in California! I lived in the Central Coast of California back in my younger days. I loved it but things have changed a lot there and not all for the good. Thanks for watching!
@@GARamblinMan thanks!! It has been an awesome bike, Honda is great. Unsure if my next cruiser will be a Honda or something else though, lots of great options out there.
I rode US Hwy 23 out of Atlanta up to Toccoa, GA where I jumped on Hwy 123 through Toccoa to Westminster, SC. I took SC Hwy 11 north from Westminster up to US Hwy 25 north into Hendersonville, NC. I exited onto Hwy 64 to Chimney Rock. Great route out in the country with only minimal traffic and mostly 2-lane roads.
What part of NC are you in? I’m about 40 min east of Charlotte…lots of good roads around here, but if you go north and west, you run into a lot of really great riding.
@@johngilbert1047 just moved to Asheville area. I’m a northern person flat roads still getting used to the mountains. Thinking of moving down south though 😊
