Thank you for the nice comment and watching my video. I’ll try to keep most of my videos somewhere in the 10 to 15 minute range because that’s what RU-vid tells me is about the average attention span for most of my viewers. Thanks again!
Wow! I come back to GA Ramblin' Man after a short break and Doug has not only a new bike, which I never would have predicted, but also whole new STYLE of bike, and on top of that, a new GPS smartphone app that has replaced the Garmin, which I also never would have predicted. Good for you Doug! Do what you want and it's all good! I think you had the Suzuki Boulevard for many many years, I still remember those days. What app are you using for navigation now?
Things do change quickly! I bought my new bike in January and have about 3,500 miles on it so far and I love it. I just decided it was time for a change in motorcycles and the type of bike I was riding. Very pleased so far. I use the BMW navigation system on this motorcycle. It came with a connection for it and I purchased the nav unit for it and it works well. It’s coordinated with the bike’s controls and I can do everything with it from the handlebar controls without taking my gloves off and having to use a touch screen. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@GARamblinMan Excellent. Many thanks Doug. Congrats on the new bike and I look forward to many more motovlogs! Keep up the great work. Thanks for the details on the gps.
Thanks for your information on the BMW F750GS. I ride a BMW R1200RS and am 73 years old. It is becoming a bit heavy for my age and I am also looking for a lighter bike 🏍️. Your suggestions have helped me a lot.
Glad you enjoyed the video and it helped you. The days of the really heavy bikes are over for me. I love the lighter 750 GS. Thanks for watching and the kind words
I bought a 2016 with 9k miles on it exactly like that one. Bought it over a new heritage. The new ones didn’t feel as comfortable and planted on the highway as the old heritage design to me. So I gladly bought the 2016 instead of a 2024. Something is quite different about them. It’s more than just the looks. The new ones felt smaller and more cramped to me. I’m 6’3 and felt cramped on a 2024 but perfect on the 2016. The old one feels more like a Cadillac on the highway and very planted like a road king. If I had to buy a 2024 I’d have to take the road king The icing on the cake was I got my 2016 with 9k miles for 11k too 😂. Much better than 26k for a new one !
You got a great deal and the older Twin Cam Heritage models are perfectly good motorcycles. I rode a 2016 model in Hawaii a few years ago and loved it. Thanks for watching!
Hi George, I just bought a 2023 HD Heritage classic and I thought of your video when you chose it over the Road King. I see you bought an adventure bike those bikes are really cool. However, I’m only 5’6 to short for such a bike. Well enjoy the ride just wanted to say that I was thinking of you when buying my Heritage. Take care!
What is your opinion of the Heritage for a new rider? I'm retired 6'3" approx 215-225. I'm considering 3 bikes, the Heritage, Street Bob, and the Triumph Bonneville T120.
Heritage might be a bit too heavy and powerful for a first time beginner bike. But with your size you should adjust to it quickly. The Street Bob and Triumph T120 might be a bit small but are both good bikes. Check out the Triumph Speedmaster. It’s a little smaller than the Heritage but a great cruiser and probably more comfortable than the Street Bob or Triumph T120. Good luck in your search!.
It’s a little big and powerful for a brand new rider, but with your size, I think you would adjust quickly to it. I would just take it easy at first and practice especially slow speed maneuvers. Any smaller displacement starter bike is going to be really small and uncomfortable for you. Good luck!
I had a heel toe shifter on my old Suzuki Boulevard but the Heritage didn’t have it stock and I got used to using just the toe shifter so I never upgraded the Heritage with a heel and toe shifter. Thanks for watching!
bmw cancelled he 750gs for asia but should i get one wtih more power; anyway. Love the low seat and fairly flat pannier seat. Options are limited; Kaw cancelleld the z900RS. so thats out. Tiger GT pro. is good seating for 2 up but is it too hi ? A bit lighter than the 750gs
I went to look at new ones for first time in long long times. I was shocked to see a new heritage at 25k. I thought they were around 16k 😂. It’s just a basic softail with bags and windshield. Nothing really special about it. But I decided real quick I’ll just buy a used garage queen for half that 😂. That’s just way too much for a dressed up softail.
I agree the price has gotten out of hand for the Heritage and a lot of other Harley-Davidson models. I got mine for less than $20K 3 years ago and I thought they were getting too expensive then. There are a lot of other great lower priced choices out there for new motorcycles or like you said, there are plenty of used one’s available. Thanks for watching!
I was THIS close to getting mine tomorrow 2023 660 The current bikes title is lost, so my purchase has been slightly delayed. Man, I CANNOT WAIT!!! Edit: Trading in my 2023 Rebel 1100 because of the 27" seat height and poorly designed center controls I will miss that cruise control though!!😂
New sub. Looking forward to watching the F750GS videos. Your microphone quality is excellent even with the standard screen. Can i ask what audio system and helmet you are using ? Thanks for sharing. Jason
Thanks for the comments. I use a Purple Panda lavalier microphone from my GoPro on my helmet that is mounted on my chin bar. I route the cable from the GoPro behind the cheek pads and have the microphone taped to the inside of my helmet right in front of my mouth on the lower inner chin bar. The newer Purple Panda microphones come with a small foam wind sock on it that cuts down the wind noise a lot. I have my GoPro Hero 8 mounted in their MediaMod accessory that allows me to plug the microphone cable directly into the GoPro without an adapter. It took me a long time to get this set up for good audio quality but it works great. Thanks for watching!
You won’t be disappointed in it if you’re looking for a mid sized adventure/sport touring motorcycle. Take a test ride first sure. Thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it.
unfortunately options, etc is country specific. save money, make money to strip offf options. quick shifter will be an option for sure where all this is standard on a xsr900. with over 100 hp . dynamic esa would be sweet.
i put on hi windwhield; mud flaps, center stand was a chore to get on . sae plug, crash bars, so want to see whats new for 2024. same tpms, engine temps. extra ride mode. hope for cruise control ?
I'm comfy at 200kg up to 205 like the tiger sport 660. 220kg is noticeable and top heavy for me. Riding a 500x is ez but not enough power for twisties, hills so ..... price for this is 15,000 usd- in thailand.
Me too. I feel I have much better control over the motorcycle with this tall upright riding position. I have much more fun on the curves now. You still can’t beat a cruiser or touring bike for long range comfort but this new motorcycle has reignited my love of riding. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I love the bike setup, I also have a 2018 Heritage In a 107 you can’t go wrong with this bike. If I could offer a couple of suggestions… 1. Motorcycle Drop Guards they go on the engine guards (crash bars) they give an extra layer of protection and are easy to install. They cost about $350 In the event you do resell the bike they help the resell value if you ever did drop the bike. 2. The phone mount I see you have on the bike I would replace, I had something similar and dropped my phone twice at high speed. I recommend Rokform mounts. The mounts run about $120 The car runs about $45 of the don’t have a matching case the universal adapter costs $20 and it does work. I used the universal adapter for about 3 years before upgrading my phone. 3. Last I would check out ClearWater Lights. I will admit they are pricey but worth it. Those lights put out more light than your headlights and they are adjustable. I run them at about 20% power normally. When I hit the horn or high beams they go full power. Just my thoughts, either way your bike is a beautiful bike enjoy your ride. Jeff

Hello GARamblinMan greetings from Northern Kentucky. Congrats on your retirement and the new bike. I would have recommended the c50 as a lighter bike but, I see you have already been down that road. I am going down that road now (thanks to you as the top youtuber along with Pastor Les from "Cruising the narrow road" and Shaun from Srkcycles respectively.) Enjoying your videos immensely. Thanks and keep up the great videos. Also thanks for keeping the c50t in the intro and ending. Wallace
I loved that Suzuki C50T I had for about 8 years. I bought it used for a great low price and put many happy miles on it. I’ve moved on, but that bike was one of the favorite motorcycles I’ve ever owned. Loving the new BMW F750 GS and look forward to sharing more rides on that bike. Thanks for the kind comments and glad you enjoy the channel. I really appreciate it. Thanks again!
Hi! Brand new rider here, picking up my f800gs tomorrow. Your videos are great - both informative and pumping me up before I get my own bike. Thank you!!
Your going to love your new F800 GS. Great bike, easy to handle and loads of fun. If you’re a new rider I suggest you ride a while in Rain mode to get used to the bike. That will be a more relaxed throttle response and won’t get you in trouble with over accelerating or going too fast from a stop. Just a suggestion. Congratulations on your purchase and let me know how you like it. Ride safe and thanks for watching!
It’s the 18-inch adjustable windshield from Madstad. Great wind protection and easy to install. madstad.com/collections/f750/products/bmw-f750gs-2018-up-adjustable-windshield-system
Hi, George its Eric who spoke to you quite a while ago and was gonna congratulate you on your beautiful Heritage after getting rid of your Suzuki C50 boulevard LOL. I got the 2020 Roadmaster shortly after you reviewed the Indian Springfield that I almost bought but needed something more comfortable since my wife loves to ride with me and we both liked all the luxury features heated grips and seats lots of storage and good stereo GPS and power windshield plus 10 grand of options and love taking the wife for rides but being close to 60 it is more of a challenge regarding the weight but not a big deal as I am a large heavy guy so I use my weight to my advantage lol but I can see a day coming soon when it will be a little too bulky for me. I also have been curious about these bikes how did you find ride comfort. I am spoiled with the nearly 5 inches of rear travel with my Roadmaster and the stability that comes from a 940 lb bike on the highway do you find this bike stable? Thanks and have a good one George nice talking to you again.
The ride on these smaller adventure motorcycles is different from your Roadmaster for sure. But I was surprised at how comfortable they are overall. Just a little different and it didn’t take me long at all to adjust. There is something to be said for a big heavy touring bike out on the highway. If that’s where you ride most of the time especially with a passenger these are probably a better bet than the smaller adventure motorcycles. But there’s a trade off with everything and the agile handling and light weight for slower speed maneuvers and moving it around your garage sold me on them. I actually find my BMW F750 GS quite stable at highway speeds with plenty of power. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I liked the Heritage better too. But this was a good inexpensive motorcycle for me when I bought it. It was comfortable but didn’t have all the up to date features my Heritage had like cruise control and ABS brakes. Thanks for watching!
I have not ridden any of the CF Moto bikes but they are becoming popular and I think we will see more of them. I will review one if I ever get a chance to demo one. Have you looked at the Triumph Tiger 660? It’s very lightweight and low seat height. Handles great and that Triumph triple engine is awesome. If you’re looking for more of a cruiser style, the Triumph Bonnevilles and Speed Master are good choices. I also like the Indian Scouts, Harley-Davidson Nighters and Kawasaki Vulcan S 650. All good affordable smaller bikes. Thanks for watching and commenting! Thanks for your military service, too!
"Thanks for sharing this awesome BMW F750GS review! Your insights and riding experience really showcase the thrill and versatility of this bike. Keep up the fantastic work!" 😊👍
All Harley’s have a clunky transmission but that feature is just one of those things that make them a Harley. They have reduced the shaking with the M8 motors. I actually thought the Road King rode pretty well and was better than the Street Glides and Road Glides due to the longer travel on the rear shocks. But ride quality is highly subjective. Thanks for watching and commenting!
The heritage is the "road king" of harley no questions or arguments to be had. Strip it down for a cruiser and load it down for distance. The only thing road king has thats better is lean angle and hard saddle bags..... which does not affect the ride to ur average rider.
The nice painted hard bags were really the only thing I thought the Road King was better at than the Heritage but I still love both bikes. Thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it.
Hey Doug. Mark Tucker here. You may not remember me. Like you, I sold my Heritage. I'm buying a,...guess what?.....2005 Suzuki C50T, a red one. Needed something a bit lighter and I'll get to sock a lot of $$$ in the bank. Good luck with your BMW and ride safe.
I know you’ll love the Boulevard. Mine was a 2005 too just in black. I liked the red and almost bought one but got a better deal on the black one. It’s a great bike and lighter than your Heritage but a lot like it. Have fun !
NC, GA and TN have some of the best roads in the country. Route 28 in NC is amazing as well from Bryson down to Franklin. Nice video! Thanks for sharing!
They sure do. We are lucky to live so close to these great motorcycle roads. I’ll have to try Rt 28 from Bryson to Franklin. Thx for the recommendation!
I really love almost all motorcycles and I like trying them all out. I sold the Harley because I knew I would not ride it that much anymore after getting the new BMW and it was still worth a good amount. I sold it for more than I paid for the new BMW so it was a good financial decision for me. I would have liked to have kept it, but having two bikes in the garage just isn't my thing (until of course I decide I want something else...ha!) Thanks for watching!
I love riding blue ridge parkway, 28, and 441. Looks like really nice weather. We rode up to Devils Courthouse on Blue ridge parkway less than a month ago and got caught in a snowstorm. Anyway I’m wondering how comfortable your bike is for long riding. I have a Honda CB500x and I start getting back pain and leg cramps after about 6 hours. Love your channel. Keep the content coming. I’m happy about your new bike but miss the heritage.
The BMW F750 GS is very comfortable for me. It’s a little bigger than the Honda CB500X, Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Triumph Tiger 660. I rode those smaller bikes and loved the handling and price point of those smaller bikes, but I knew I wouldn’t be comfortable on longer rides so I chose the slightly bigger 750 GS and I’m glad I did. I will need to change my seat be it’s a little firmer than I like, but that’s my only complaint so far. Thanks for watching!
I can relate to having a repair in addition to paying for maintenance. The catalytic converter came loose from its welds and was causing some serious rattling noise. The options i had was to replace the head pipe with an OEM or go with an aftermarket one. I went with the vance and Hines power duels, plus it was 300 dollars less than what harley wanted for their OEM head pipe. I had my independent mechanic due the work sense harley's labor cost is ridiculous. The thing is I would kept the original parts on and saved some money, but that wasn't an option. Retirement is the best and I'm glad your enjoying it on two wheels.
Looks like a nice trip! I've got a 2021 F750GS I bought new, set up pretty similar to yours. Madstad windshield, BMW top case (which I also love), plus Barkbuster hand guards. You might consider those also. I ride in Michigan and adding the Barkbusters to cut the wind plus the heated grips makes those cool day rides more enjoyable.
I’ve considered the bark buster hand guards and I’ll probably put them on before next winter. I love the bike so far. I’ve got some more additions to it I’ll be sharing soon on upcoming videos. I really love the Madstad windshield I put on it. Just a great bike and you can never go wrong with a BMW GS if you’re looking for an Adventure bike. Thanks for watching!
