Mary Barra says its unsustainable to pay the employees what their asking but its okay for her to raise her salary to almost 30 million a year?Come on Mary get real.Stop screwing the employees and share the wealth!
why isnt any other company critisized, its not a cooperative , non profit. Why dont bank tellers get to scale what Jamie Diamond makes , Amazon, Apple, McDonald's......... The tier pay system was put in place in the old days to keep the poor Irish and Italian UAW workers down..... The Anglo-Saxons were upset and cried out "unfair" that the illiterate and less skilled Irish and Italian UAW workers were being paid the same wage.... today, black UAW workers make up the majority of the tier pay victims.... many black AUW members, especially black women, never make pass $20/hr even after they've been on the job for almost a decade......many of them are not permanent employees..... now, that's American corporate racism and discrimination...... anyone agree????
That's why I do not believe in concessions. If a group of people give concessions, what they are really doing is they are makeing an investment in the company, to help the company get through bad times and prosper. But when good times come around and the company is in the black and prospering, them concessions should be given back. Most cases it is not.
BS on concessions! If they don't like what they get paid, they can quit! People in other industries don't have a fraction of what these people are asking for!!!

Very few companies in their executive compensation packages include lifetime healthcare! If the line workers don't like what they're paid, then just quit! How fvckin hard is that? These publically traded companies are owned by the shareholders and the executives have their feet held to the fire and they must deliver results or they're fired! All these sandbaggers on strike think it's a cake walk for these people in the executive suites and money just come pouring in like water out of a fire hose!!!
You probably couldn't make it through your first day at any of these plants. And if you are smart enough to read you would see that we are fighting for benefits that we agreed to give up momentarily while the companies rebuilt their funds after countless embezzling schemes from their executives.
Ms. Sharon:I do sympathize with you on some of y'all points. I was UAW member for almost 4 years, I was a TEAMSTER for 10 years. I am in the auto industry right now working at a machine standing in one spot all night wrecking my body while management sits at a desk and makes decision by looking at the numbers (I agree with you there). I have been with my company now 12 years was just elevated in pay & still NOT even making $20 hrs. making parts for GM cars close to a major city where gas is at $4.22 to $4.30per gal. YOU are making $29 per hr. want $35 per hr.(me too). How much union dues do you pay,how much Healthcare etc.? My company we assemblers make a whole lot less and can't afford your cars either. All that union dues and you get $500 a week strike pay? Wow, really? Your employer is unfair to y'all and y'all strike will affecting all auto manufacturing suppliers and we are not part of your strike (now we are). Hope you get what you DESERVE not what all your wanting. GREED, it's the American way.

All you've gotta do is to look at numbers and make a decision and you can make tens of millions as an executive instead of standing in front of a machine punching out parts!!! if she wants more money, get a trade instead of calling them rich. Im also a teamster that makes close to 33 an hr with pension and yearly raises at a national food service company
These people are already paid more than foreign auto workers and yet, they produce a lower quality product! I bought an US manufacturer vehicle 7 years ago and the quality of build was pathetic! I've also had vehicles made in Japan as well as Germany and none of those vehicles had issues like the American made vehicle! I have zero sympathy for these people. If you don't like your pay - just quit! No one is holding a gun to your head and said you must keep that job!!!

I had a leak in my wife's car and when I realized where is was leaking from it was pathetic , rear cyclops brake light was holding onto 1 nut the rest wernt even hand tight causing a leak , Ill never forget that
I can't afford their vehicles. If they get what they want the vehicle prices will increase even more. The customer pays. They increased MacDonalds pay and now my hamburger meal is 11.00 dollars.
If that was true.. why a vehicle made in Mexico (Witch a labor cost in Mexico is 3 to 4$ an hour) cost the same or even more than a vehicle made in USA, ill tell you why... because COMPANY GREED, CEO's making 29 millions dollars, while working class fighting for crumbs. Think about it, if labor was the problem, than why those products made in other country's are not cheaper?
