The New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) Workforce Retention Grant is a program that provides funding to eligible child care programs to support the retention of their staff and to recruit new staff. The grant is funded by a $500 million investment in the FY 2024 budget by Governor Kathy Hochul.
The grant is comprised of two components:
Staff Retention Bonuses: This component provides bonuses of $2,300 to $3,000 to staff in caregiving roles who have worked an average of 15 hours per week (10 hours per week for SACC staff) from January 1, 2023 to June 26, 2023.
Staff Recruitment and Payroll Tax Assistance: This component provides funding to help child care programs recruit new staff and to offset the cost of payroll taxes.
