Although I didn't care for the creative liberties taken by the movie, I think the actors did a pretty decent job capturing the Monkees' personalities. I do think Davy came off as an emtitled brat, and I'm not sure how fair or accurate that was.
It's a minor thing, but whenever I see this video re-creation, I get annoyed that they gave Micky a tambourine with a drumhead, instead of the "headless" kind as in the original. Because I always get a kick out of the part where Micky starts goofing around and putting his hand through the tambourine.
This movie is terrible. It honestly looks like it was written by a die hard fan of the Monkees t.v. show but whoever wrote it didn't know certain details from behind the scenes. Also whoever wrote this movie did get some important points of the Monkees history wrong.
Trying to cram 5 plus years into 2 hours is not easy. Look at Bohemian Rhapsody, great movie with the real band members involved, but things were changed and condensed
