Haha yes it very much works for me! The surface at the top of the kerb is quite grippy, so is very advantageous and helps to set up for the next corner in terms of alignment :)
Is it quicker to do such sharp notions with the steering wheel and then have to counter? Wouldnt it be quicker to be a bit smoother and not slide as much
Depends on the type of corner, the type of kart and the weight of the driver. Usually, for heavier drivers, being smoother is better. However lighter drivers can get away with sliding and it can be faster. Heavier drivers need to prioritise their momentum a bit more, as acceleration is slower and therefore less sliding is optimal. One style of driving is to let the turning/sliding slow you down, this means less time on the brake pedal - which is one example of why sliding can be faster. Heavier drivers wouldn't get away with this though.
