I feel like dayz really needs birds. Like crows or pigeons and even pheasants in the wilderness. And birdshot ammo too. They would make towns feel more alive
Been saying this, birdshot would be by far the most common ammo type in real life. Make it do good damage up close but no armor penetration and 30M fall off
As much as I like PVP, I've always liked the survival aspect more because it accentuates the post apocalyptic side of the game. So, making survival a higher priority of DayZ will make it a better game overall. And that it may encourage more people to team up over KOS is even better because playing with others is usually more enjoyable as well. As a console player, I am really excited for this new map. I actually don't mind dying as I see a new life as a new adventure.
Yes! More survival stuff please. Trapping could be a new way to get food in the long term instead of farming. Considering farming in the snow is a impossibility.

I try to get information without seeing gameplay, for me as a console player is so rare to explore a new map and I just cant wait to explore. Especialy when its more hardcore survival than the other maps.
Now that you’re a CM do us console players a solid: please, please, PLEASE pass on to the devs that dupers are a severe problem. Fort Knox bases are all over and they’re going to dominate this map because they can just duplicate food, clothes, meds, etc. it needs to be solved.
They've addressed it over multiple patches but cheaters always find a way around it. Best thing to do is avoid official servers and find a good community one.
The devs have done an amazing job on this map. I love the fact they have made this map more of a pve aspect. Having 5k hours on console im really excited for this map to drop.

Ya Marks i noticed a lot of deaths with the streamers this week myself. In my opinion most streams play just PvP part of the game and don't know how to survive hardcore. Not going to say names but saw one awhile back that didn't know you could boil water to sterilize it and wasn't sure witch pills cure witch diseases. So i think the only ones going to struggle are those types of players and play styles. I've got almost 4k hours in Dayz and seeing a streamer who's thumbnail says "How a 6k hours player dominates a server" and they don't even know what meds to take for what diseases and that you can boil water to drink, shows clearly who will struggle here. It will be a challenge no doubt but i think when us normies get our hands on it finally there wont be as many deaths to climate and disease. Just my humble opinion. Thanks again for all you do and keep up the good work.
Spot on! Honestly, that's the most exciting thing about the map - it will favor different playstyle. Survivalist and metodical players will get upper hand initially and that's a good thing. I was also disappointed by the early Sakhal streams - seeing "pro" players to struggle with the things I always percieved as basic DayZ mechanics and knowledge, it made them look as very one-dimensional players. But maybe that was on purpose ? Maybe some of them just wanted to show audience how much more hardcore the new map is?
@@JupixCZ Could have been but i doubt it, lol.. Also a lot of them play on servers with tons of mods witch is fine, i do to sometimes but on those servers first three houses and your fed, watered and geared and heading inland. We will see, but i don't foresee to many PvP oriented style players playing on it unless it's heavily modded.
The reality is most of the DayZ content creators do not play Vanilla. They reside on heavily modded pvp servers with infinite stam and adjusted loot a majority of the time so their "6000" hours will be very different from someone with a similar time spent on official/vanilla
Streamers have been a curse on dayz…a lot of them only think About pvp and kdr and I’ve found that over the last 2 years teamplay has dropped massively and even in spawn areas about 80% of will kill you rather than talking when before it was the minority. Add the last update to Namalsk with the suits etc and it’s negatively impacted the overall game as people are now less trusting.
The new map looks great! Especially with the reworking of the furniture inside the houses. I would like to have those change in Chernorus and Livonia as well. I'm on PS4. Not sure if I gonna buy on release. Will depend if there is enough official server available at launch. Sorry if it's not clear, I used to speak French. Have fun with Frostline 👍
I have always loved the PVE aspect of having to survive against zombies and elements and animals more than PVP I was wondering cuz I haven't seen anybody talk about it I have watched a lot of other streamers no one talks about if it's actually colder at night versus during the day
Ill be buying this expansion in both console and PC to doubly support this so devs can keep working hard ❤ I do would love some new features in the future. - Winter chernarus w snow - Special infected types that look different too (like mutated ones) - AI enemies and friendlies (Military, Bandits, Survivors) - New predators like Syberian Tiger, and water predators too - More small animals to hunt like squirrels, rats, mice, birds, etc. - Being able to shoot from cars. Driver could only use one handed firearms, the passengers can use anything.
The map and structure of the environment look great. I've watched Paul at TRMZ and Cobra for around 40 hours since it dropped.I played Vigor on Switch for 5 or 600 hours and see vigor graphical things there with the snow. I'm Xbox so a breath of fresh air too. BIG thumbs 👍 up.
I love the focus on survival. Maybe they could implement a improvised water filter. Other survival stuff would also be welcome. Trapping could be a new way to get food in the long term instead of farming. Considering farming in the snow is a impossibility. Maybe catch birds with stick traps. Made with sticks and a rope. {could use seeds as bait}. A box trap to catch foxes and hares. Made from planks + nails combined with bait. And/or a metal version of the box trap with high durability that's big and heavy. Could also be good for introducing a new building. {hunters/trappers cabin}
@@Marks12 Yes, but only the snare trap. Box and stick traps are simple designs that are often used in real life. They would work great with birds like crows and pidgins. They can ad more animals to make the environment feel more alive. It would be a source of feathers to make crossbow bolts instead of chickens. And it would ad a use for the seeds that would normally be used in farming. Crows can also be used to give away the position of dead player bodies and dead animals. Or even campers by making crows gather close to a player who have not moved for a long time. Pidgins can be used to give away players positions when they scare them and fly away. Lot's of creative possibilities to enrich the game by adding a couple simple things. Just some ideas.
Do you remember when Livonia came out, the weather was a real thing there too. People would die from being wet and cold. And then along came modders and modded it all out, and then the map became just another map. You just know modders are immediately going to mod out the cold, the heavy metal poisoning, the poisoned meat and everything else unique ! And before long that will be the default and Sakahl will be just another map. Sad but true. I was watching Nezar's live stream (because I knew he would be a fish out of water). And the entire time he was moaning about the hardcore mechanics, and saying it wasn't worth the price. He owns The Labs servers, and he just can't survive without spawning at his sleeping bag with a 50cal and Tier 3 armor. Anyway, I really hope that the modded version doesn't become the defacto default experience.
Hi Marks good to see you streaming this map looks brilliant it has a lot of things it’s going to throw at you but I’m up for that hard-core stuff One thing I am worried about hopefully is going to get sorted is that I see some streamers have reported fps issues in big towns and the airfield especially for console players many thanks take care

I’ve recorded almost 13 hours on Sakhal myself and I’ve managed not to die yet. Mainly because I’m in Australia and the Aussie server is almost constantly empty 😅. So it’s really a PvE experience for me. As long as you have a basic grasp of DayZ survival mechanics, you can successfully fight the elements. I think it will be other players that cause the most death. Not just directly by PvP, but also indirectly by taking all the necessary loot before you can. Really looking forward to this releasing on official and all the servers popping off 👏⛄️.
The most unrealistic thing about Day Z is the zombies. Could they be replaced with more animals? The old zombies are back that run straight through you and end up behind you, even your backs against a wall they push you out and hit you from behind. It was fixed after a Marks video way back but the problem is back. Good info Marks❤
The map looks pretty and I like the weather effects, but the buildings seem more of the same; a few new interiors, but the rooms that have horizontal bars across should be opened up to give them a new lease of life. The Bitterroot map has some great modded buildings that you can almost get lost in. This will be great for console players, but for PC I'm not sure it adds anything that Namalsk and other mods don't.
Love seeing how much more difficult the new map is going to be as thats what i realy enjoy about dayz. The Survival side of it all, helping other players just get another hour of life is my play style. Can i ask when is 1.26 coming to xbox as when they first tried it crashed the servers and still no fix. Still having to plah on 1.25 version?
Hey Marks! Great video, thank-you. Can you confirm, has the prompt for fences, watchtowers etc (external assets) been removed so you cannot see the flag protection indicator anymore?
@@Marks12 Okay, I think there must of been a micro patch in 1.25 that removed this feature. Pre patch, if you found a base in the wild, you could walk around the perimeter and you'd get an indicator saying "Fence" or "Gate". If the base had a flag, they'd be a little flag icon on the left before the word flag/gate. This still works today but only with Gates. Where it was handy, if you had a large base and you placed a new fence, you could see if it was covered withing your 60M flag radius. If it wasn't protected by your flag, in 4-5 weeks the fence would despawn. Now without this fence indicator, it's a little risky and on a PVE server that I play on, it makes raiding very awkward as you usually cannot see the base flag, so this was a great indicator informing you the status pre raid.
If you have er played RDR2. The character customisation on that is breathtaking. DayZ should have that. I had a obese, balding redheaded dude on it. It was class. A DayZ 2.0 would do well to add this feature. Although you would spend 25 mins making a character to only get popped at the spawn area, but that character would be saved to play again and again.
We had some extrem cold winter chernarus server on console. First weeks very popular. But now they are very low on pop. But it's due to the performance I think. The snow drops the fps hard on console.
I can’t wait to try it lol also why I have noticed is it might need like a frost resistance like Namalsk. So after awhile when ur alive and. Hold ur character u can take the the cold better. I noticed payers with best gear and they r still cold and have to make fires.
I have an idea for official dayz you guys can add a new item for weapons called “universal fittings”. It’s gonna be like picatinny rails and stuff and it can be in the bunker or contaminated area. all you have to is find it and combine with any weapon like the mosin or something and you’ll be able to put any attachments eastern or western on it like the pc. No need for mods or anything and we can be on par with pc modding kinda sorta and definitely bring the spray cans back for camo
I'm not great at PvP. But this might give me an advantage because I feel extremely co fident about my survival skills in the game, so maybe people being weaker and more desperate for supplies might create more mistakes in their focuses on tasks and get sloppy or even slowed down from weakness. Unfortunately I am in the middle of a natural disaster and won't be able to play it upon release
Main complaint for most ppl i see is that once we have the best clothing or close to it. We shouldn't have to make fires anymore unless we get wet and get sick way less. Right now sickness is a bit to much and constant fires they need to increase wild life as well especially one we can eat. fishing will get boring fast. like m1ndr said we shouldn't be forced to have to survive in limited ways. I have watched over 30 hours of live streams they need to add more villages eventually too. Too much wasted space. Also if they going to limit the guns on the map they better be adding a decent amount of new weapons to the game soon and a actual sniper scope on the new SNIPER rifle. But if they don't make decent changes thank god for modders bc i know there will be community servers who do it right and fix what the devs lack to give us. The treason i left console and got on pc is bc they fail to give us what we beg for . We wanted digital code locks for the longest lol. Nobody trying to keep taking forever with dial locks. Just simple shit. I just hope they dont drop the ball for the ones who are on console bc modders saved the game but for the console players the devs are all they have unfortunately.
I have been watching TRMZ streaming It needs frost resistance if your character has been alive for a while and having to make a fire every half an hour will get annoying after a while. Needs more content in the islands as well. The bunker is amazing. All and all a wicked map. Be interesting to see how rearmed will ruin it with lag, stupid armor sets and key rooms.
I am used to playing hardcore servers like IntesZ and Congeli Infernus.... Frostline can be considered hardcore for anyone who has not played on these server.
I play both pc and console. Console needs the option which pc has to join the last played server. So I’m not searching the server list for the one server that doesn’t have the 75second join timer every time I come back to play.
The bunker should be changed so u have to still use a glow plug and fuel but used also for both door to the bunker. I dont think you should be able to just open the bunker and camp for someone else to put the hard work In
There’s a server on PlayStation called winter liviona which obviously hasn’t got the perks what pc has but for console it’s pretty hard core starting fires every 30 mins food runs down more always cold or getting the cold
Ask them to improve building mechanics! Include code locks that operate in batteries! Code locks that remember players. Or console control buttons for numbers.
watched few steamers (dont want too much spoiler) there are so many death. constant sickness, experienced players barly making it, (and not so many boats !! ) it seems great and Im getting it thats only I can say. expolore, looting and gearing up is such a fun, sometime I forget to die on cherno or livonia.
Imma be honest the empty islands are a let down. Building in the open is terrible especially since they added the M79. It’s pointless it’s just gonna get tubed and gassed, tubes are op and quite abundant even if dupers didn’t make them like hotcakes. Map looks very fun don’t get me wrong but there should be a thing out there give us a reason to explore even if it’s just a cool pointless building with no loot.
@@bryansenalik2551 definitely a possibility but I have zero faith is these devs tbh. The absolute lack of any real content has shattered my opinion of them regardless if I love the game or not. Should’ve hired on all this help years ago when the game first released instead they lined their pockets and worked 12 hours a week
@@Quxrk what are you talking about? There are almost no games that get over a decade of patch support and a complete engine upgrade. The game is far far from perfect (zombie ai, random bugs etc) we all know that but compare it to the knock offs, it's in a far better state with much more to do in game.

@@Quxrk you realize the team for dayz is tiny right, it's basically a handful of people? The majority of Bohemia (which is a tiny company) is working on arma 4 with the enfusion engine which will eventually lead to dayz 2. Also in this frostline update are new modding tools to make map creation easier.
I know it's probably suicide but I was hoping that y'all are keeping the denim shorts and stuff like that in there I know it's going to make it harder to survive but I have survived some of the Sub-Zero servers on console wearing the same outfit I always do which includes the denim shorts
I beg you sir, please please forward this to the dev team somehow, it's really a big issue and I'm certain many more player would stick around for longer if it happens Personally and I think most will agree, I just want to be able to remap my buttons, L2 to aim, RB/LB to peak(alternating) left toggle to move player right toggle to move gun and R2 to shoot, all at the same time ,lol, if peak was just a click of toggle and sticks holy crap the difference it would make
Not liking the overtly open sections of the map round the mili spots. Camper sniping has always been an annoyance in dayz. Not sniping in general but those that just load on meat and sit in one spot with a mosin ranged for a barracks. Which is what a lot of streamers seem to focus on. This map seems to make it much easier if you get lucky on the coast getting something with range then rewarding you for setting up around the mili spots and just camping. Granted foods gonna be a issue but if your plinking folks at range when its already hard to get off the coast i can see players becoming the new "food delivery service" for the campers hiding out in the rocks instead of the predators. The only real counter will be when the weather gets bad and you can slip in but odds are then they will probably do the same, and have a better chance at catching one by surprise. Other then that little irk im actually really excited to play on this map.

I think the reason why you have not seen alot of issues yet is because there is no bases full of loot. That and people have not had the time to really look for the so called features of sahkhal. I as a console player am really excited and hopeful with the money obtained from purchases of this map will grant us more content like the lapua ammo, heavy plates and gun bags and the ability to where a backup with the gilly suit or make a gilly attachment and make a stipulation like you can only use assault bags or hiking bags for example as they are small or make the gilly have storage in it as well. I would like to see the soft skills come back but in a different manner, makens stats build system where as you stay alive and so particular things you can increase your strength making melee more effective and increase your weight capacity effectively increasing stamina and slightly reducing inertia. Increase crafting time as you do it more etc. It would once again increase the realism of DayZ and put a new spin on it.
I understand cold is bad but I mean best insulation winter clothing and your still cold that’s kinda wack at least that’s what I been seeing could be tweaked later
Sadly Mark's the plusses of the new map are far out weighed by the negatives. Not for us sadly and we will stick to Namalsk and what's already available.
Most DayZ players are trigger happy lunatics and while Sakahl is a well made and interesting map the majority of players need to put a punishing weapon in their hand. Running around with no guarantee that they will ever find one will not keep people on this map. The vast nothingness gives no incentive to explore because the player knows they will not find anything. Fourty or more players and so little food options will surely see players tail off very quickly. Do not get me wro g I have watched a number of the Fresh Spawns YT vids and you can not fault the game mechanics and I applaud Bohemia for making a visually interesting and well playing map but it feels unfinished for us. More points of interest better loot economy would be a good start. @ElGrecoDaGeek

@@drwells No, i love this game. But yeah, i hate basebuilding and serever hopping. But other than that, i'm pretty satisfied. Minecraft is a fun single player game, but i prefer online pvp survival games, that's i will continue to play dayz.

As a console player I'm definitely lookin forward to the relatively level playing field this map will present to players on release day n the near future as everyone learns the map at the same time n teamin up makes more survival sense. This should be a nice break from the norm b4 everyone gets comfortable again n reverts back to the stale KOS-heavy playerloop that I too am guilty of even tho it's not my preference.
Judging by the streams iv watched so far, Sakhal looks like its going to get boring real quick. Main reason i say that is cause the outer islands are empty of anything. You have an off chance of finding a container with some good guns, but you barely need to step onto the shore. Theres NO need to walk into the islands. If theres still nothing on these islands when the map releases, i wont be buying it. Complete dissapointment so far honestly. The bunker is meh. All you need is a glo plug, and its very small. The briefcase thing seems silly. All that effort for nothing amazing.
