The only thing they proved is that 1960's design parachutes did work. Ask the same Andy Farrington if he'd jump at night, in a rain storm, into unknown terrain, in a business suit, and see if he still wants to do it.

Nobody ever said a jump at 10k feet wasn't possible, its the conditions and the fact he had no gear that's the issue. It was like 19 degrees, rain, sleet, dark, who knows the truth, we probably never will.

It was probably around 35 degrees where he landed (depending on elevation). Certainly very uncomfortable, but definitely survivable.

I have a theory.. There are two angles in this case; let me explain one by one. First, Cooper would not have jumped from the plane that night. Jumping with a parachute would have been just a diversion. It is possible that one, two, or four more people might have met him on the flight, and when the passengers disembarked, he might have sent the money out through them. Second and very important, whatever information related to this case reached the police was secondary information, meaning what Cooper looks like and what his appearance is like. All this was known to others, meaning only two or three people had seen Cooper. With those two air hostesses and perhaps one more person, it is absolutely possible that wrong information has been sent to the police to mislead the police; unless an insider is found, it is not possible to do so. I think, whether there is a person named DB Cooper or not, all this story was created so that the police could be deceived. In reality, the air host and the pilot may have been in contact; they may have tied some currency notes to the parachute and thrown them, so that everyone would believe their story. I am not blaming anyone; I am just saying that we should think like this also. I think that the air hostess and pilot are the prime suspects, and it is possible that some passengers are also involved. It is absolutely possible that this is the planning of these people; they have already arranged everything. . Meaning, the notes must have been thrown overboard, someone must have collected the notes, and by the time the government traced those notes, they would have been converted into gold within a few hours. The person who would have taken the notes in exchange for gold would not have known that the government was collecting them. It will trace the notes. Now whoever has those notes will not make a fool of taking them out. And the people who may have done this work may have come from outside; no one could doubt that they did their work and left the country. Absolutely foolproof planning... My point is that... Does the police have any concrete evidence of Cooper's existence? Meaning, was there such a person or not? This incident happened in 1971. In those days, making a fake plane ticket would not have been a big deal. Who went to give him the money? We should think once again about who saw him, and that sketch and the name DB Cooper also seem like a lie to me. I think that finding those notes and tickets after a few years would not have been a coincidence; all this evidence must have been planted there deliberately; they wanted those notes to be found so that everyone could believe the story they had told. There are some things to think about. Are there no cameras at the airport? Meaning, if he was on the plane, he must have boarded it from somewhere, right? When the plane landed for refuelling, why did the FBI not get some of its people on board the plane, meaning it was not possible for the FBI to open the plane from behind and enter it? If I had been there, I would have flown another plane behind that plane, which would have kept an eye on him, and other officers would have been there, meaning it is a matter of common sense that if he was asking for a parachute, he would have jumped somewhere; whenever he jumped, the officers of this plane would also have jumped. He was not caught till date because it was not his real face and real identity. It is possible that people were involved from inside; this is not possible without some inside help.

Skydiver jumps from plane while wearing a parachute on a bright sunny day is hardly as dramatic as the music suggests, or convincing evidence either way about Cooper's chances of survival. But I guess it makes for supposedly good TV...

DB Cooper actually knew miles per minute and times his jump. He argued over flight path due to he made a water jump at night time. He landed in the river this is why he used a chute to wrap the money. He was making a floatation out of the chute. He was trained to do this at night in military. Watch tells him When to jump traveling at a certain speed the plane does miles per minute. Plane travels miles per minute NOT MPH. Nobody has ever even thought about MILES PER MINUTE. Flight this path, “your plane happens to be at the right place at the right TIME”
@thedbcooperforum
@thedbcooperforum 2 года назад
Plenty of people view the flight path by the minute..the plane traveled approx. 3 miles per minute. Cooper tried using the chute he opened but left it on the plane. Cooper never argued over the flight path. he argued over where the plane was going to land..
@anonymike8280
@anonymike8280 2 года назад
The Lewis River is about as wide as the length of a football field or a soccer pitch. No way, jumping out in the dark, could he control where he was going to land. He could have landed in the river or behind Merwin Dam, but even if he wanted to and did, it had to be 95 percent luck. A witness in Ariel, Washington saw a strange man walking on one of the local roads that night. There are a lot of reports out there and a lot of confessions too. Many people think he knew where he was when he jumped, and I am one of them. But he had no control over exactly when he would land. He didn't know the exact speed of the plane or the exact flight path. He probably didn't know the exact elapsed time either. The idea is interesting, but it is implausible.
@joinjen3854
@joinjen3854 2 года назад
@@anonymike8280 WRONG. Great jumpers even in the 50s and 60s could control the glide path of a chute. Cooper was given 4 chutes and chose a MILITARY chute since he was an expert military jumper. Probably special forces guy Ted Braden who was about aged 44 in 1971. ALL the passengers and crew called Cooper MIDDLE AGED. Speed of the plane was 180 at a 10k elevation. Cooper asked for that.
@airbornesoldieramerica7125
@airbornesoldieramerica7125 Год назад
Not saying you're wrong, but how do you know he actually landed in the river? Then tried to look this up a while ago, but no luck, but what was the wind direction that night back on November 24th, 1971, around 8pm in Washington State, when this hijacking took place? Then some years ago read this book on about the Airborne WW2 soldiers jumped in France on D-day invasion. Many of these guys landed anywhere from 15 to 30 miles away from their target, when they jumped off the planes and they were completely lost when they hit the ground, according to that book.

Experience proves that forensic drawings generally are accurate. Walter Reca had too much bone mass in his face to match the forensic sketch. To me, the Walter Reca tape sound more like someone rehearsing a script. There also is an interview with Jeff Osiadacz, the part time musician who allegedly aided Reca on the ground. This, too, could have been a video of him rehearsing a script. He may have had no idea he was participating in a designed hoax as opposed to a production.

1:55 DB Cooper was Jimmy Hoffa. Case Closed
@anonymike8280
@anonymike8280 Год назад
@@-danR Sorry, Hoffa was released from prison on Dec. 23, 1971. There is something about Hoffa's disappearance that is instructive though. One theory is that he voluntarily disappeared. Perhaps, in his meeting the mafia, he worked that out as a way of settling the beefs between him and the mob. Reportedly, his wife was having an affair. Hoffa had always been strictly a family man and that would have given him a motive. His assets and the considerable value of his personal pension fund would have gone to his wife and eventually to his children. Disappearing would have given him a way out without having to publicly retire from union politics and without having to go through a public martial breakup. Or having to privately continue living in an unacceptable marital situation. Hoffa's son and daughter both were in their 30s by then and both had law degrees. He would not have been abandoning them. Did it happen that way? Probably not. But it is plausible. Contrary to what people believe, the mob prefers to settle problems through accommodation if they can do it. The point in relation to the Cooper case is that you can't just go around kicking things out unless you have 100 percent solid evidence. Almost everything about Cooper is unknown. Forget if he lived or died. No one knows for certain his age, whether he had an intelligence background or not, whether he was a professional or manager, a shoe clerk, a working guy, a soldier of fortune or an ex-convict. No one knows much of anything. Not even his motive. He may not have even needed the money.

If it didn't, it would long since have been redesigned so that it did by the time of the Cooper hijacking. The military wants reliable equipment. You can die for your country, but they don't want you to do it on impact. Get real.

Did he really jump? In another investigation documentary the theory was it was an inside job. The guy worked for that airline so he knew the aircrafts. He might have had help also. He let everyone off the plane plus two of the six crew members. I'm guessing pilot, co-pilot and two stewardesses. One or two of the stewardesses could have been working with Cooper or at least sympathetic to him because the airline were dicks. Suppose he hid in some compartment on the aircraft and they reported he jumped. Also suppose they reported he was taller than his real height? I always figured he jumped from the plane until now. That is of course if he worked for the airline.

He can also have been waiting until the plane was close to the ground. If it were closed to cockpit no one knew when he did it. But I also like your theory 🙂

a tree is reasonably soft? isnt wood made from trees?
@sylvaincroissant7650
@sylvaincroissant7650 2 года назад
Well the hard part of a tree is mainly at its base. Whats accessible from the top is leaves and flexible branches, especially if it's a pine tree. The old guy that says that has made thousands of jumps and his friends too...so him or someone close to him will have undoubtedly landed on a tree at some point. Hence his remark. The idea that risking on hitting a tree at night is a great danger and that you will immediately die impaled is just plain wrong. And you can bet that db cooper knew that. Once the parachute is open you will reach the ground alive. And hitting water is frankly even better. Cold but that s all. The risk of hitting the middle of a river or a lake is extremely unlikely And even then the survival rate is pretty high. If the parachute opened, then he made it alive on the ground.
