It's been 49 years and STILL no one has ever reported a missing person of that description. He probably took a green pen and changed the marked bills into unmarked bills by changing a 3 into an 8. Good for him!
The bills were not physically marked. Their serial numbers were recorded. Apparently, there was money prepared in advance for this kind of contingency.
@@DavidGoldZodiac Probably not. I am sure the FBI looked into that angle. There probably were only a few escaped convicts whose appearance even possibly matched Cooper. Then that person would need to have had the necessary speaking ability and general intelligence. Also, some kind of military airborne or civilian skydiving experience. Or maybe a special ops background. A guy who could talk only in Brooklynese or street smack would not qualify as a Cooper suspect.
@@nigelbenn4642 Okay. But no one was checking any way, My estimate is that the Cooper ransom represented 1/100,000 of all of thje $20 bills then in circulation. Back then, far more transactions were in cash as compared to today.
He made it. I’m 99% positive considering a bundle of cash was found at Tina-bar 10 years after the hijacking. We also know it’s the cash used as the ransom because the serial numbers were recorded in advance. This is an indication of human intervention. He’s probably dead now, but he easily could have been in his late 20’s and just looked older. Who knows. If he made it then he’s the greatest criminal in my book.
I don’t think being airborne trained or any of that is going to help you in a low altitude free fall jump. He probably started spinning uncontrollably the moment he leapt off the air stairs.
Eric is someone who has done some investigation and come up with some theories. I have attended Cooper Con and have met him. I am pretty sure he is the kind of guy who if his theories turn out to be wrong is not going to have nervous breakdown over it. His tracing back the titanium particles on the Cooper necktie to the Rem-Cru firm in Pennsylvania and then identifying two men who worked there is a nice piece of forensic work. The problem is, no one knows where Cooper got the tie. I was there, meaning, I was a young adult already in 1971. A black clip-on tie was a low value item. If someone lost or misplaced one, they might go back and look for it. Someone might readily loan one to another person not really expecting to get it back, or just give a co-worker a spare tie. The DNA of three distinct men was found on the front of the Cooper tie. The likelihood is, the tie was in the possession of and worn by more than one man during its history. Add to that the possibility that Cooper bought all of the pieces of his outfit at thrift stores or garage sales and the Rem-Cru connection becomes more problematic. I am sure many forensic cases are vexed by leads which seem compelling but fail to pan out. Every Cooper lead has failed up to this point and no identified suspect has ever been deemed even a likely match.
I think there is something that's not been considered. Research say the crew heard and felt Cooper jump from the plane and made a note of the time in order to guess where he may have landed. I believe once the flight crew thought Cooper had left the plane they would go and check as well as make a note. Would Cooper have known they would check. Surely. It doesn't add up and creates a whole new way of thinking about this case Greg
They were scared that he would take a hostage with him so they didn’t want to risk the hostage taking a parachute that didn’t work. Obviously cooper never did take a hostage
@@jordannerbas7027 Thereafter, it became the policy of the authorities not to give skyjackers who demanded them faulty parachutes. What they started doing was attaching a tracking device to the parachute. Someone who has experience folding and rigging chute could remove that though. I do not believe that they would give any faulty equipment to anyone committing a crime who demanded it. You just never know who is going to be using it, driving it, riding in it, sailing it, whatever.
That could be true. There is a real D.B. Cooper, established by the FBI within hours of the hijacking. At the time of the hijacking, the FBI asked the state government for a list of all names Dan Cooper or similar. The state replied there was a D.B. Cooper living in Oregon, so they investigated him. While the FBI was investigating him, the name was leaked to the press and they printed it. The FBI found that particular D.B. Cooper had an alibi and no ability to pull off a parachute jump, and so was ruled out as a suspect. But it had already been published in the papers so the name stuck. Nevertheless, there is a real person with the name abbreviated D.B. Cooper and many people had met him. I read somewhere that he died recently.
Things to note: 1) No one saw D B Cooper except the crew members on the date of the crime... 2) No one knew him except the crew members who interacted with him... 3) There is no photo or video available of him in any records of police, hospital, or other government agencies... even the airport... 4) No figure prints or DNA available of Cooper... 5) No family member, relative, friend, neighbor, or another known person to him came up to help in the investigation... 6) Why did Cooper ask for 2 parachutes? 7) The parachute used by Cooper was also never found... (it is not easy for a single person to fold, tuck and repack the used parachute) 8) No one can track Cooper to date... 9) Agencies are still not aware that where did Cooper get the explosives from? Who supplied him with the explosives? 10) Most importantly when cooper had the plan of landing in Mexico why did he jump before that in such a dense forest... So, to me, Cooper never existed... Conclusion 1 Crew members made this fictitious story and took that money, the entire story is fake lastly they knew that if they will land in Reno..... for refueling they might get caught by police... so they made the story that Cooper jumped out of the flight with the bag of money, the briefcase of explosives and a parachute. Rather, crew members themselves threw the bag of money and a parachute out of the air plain... And no briefcase ever existed... Or... Crew members just opened the ladder of the airplane to misguide the investigation and they hide the money and a parachute with them or in the air plan and took it back later on... Conclusion 2 The US Government must be dealing with something which they wanted to keep a secret from their citizens... so the govt must have made this story... The basic rule of crime... “if a crime is committed... There is always some or the other evidence” But in this case, there is only a story... no evidence... a story told by crew members only... # It is strange to believe that only crew members saw D B Cooper, that too only in air plain after take off, and he vanished before landing... It is a fascinating story but full of flaws...
The only two question I have to ask are: (1) Of all the suspects the FBI interviewed and photographed, why can't the Stewardess who sat next to him on the plane identify him? (2) If they now have a DNA profile why aren't they using it?
If you see the Time this happed it was quite easy to doo planes like bus ticket, no security check no cctv , no dna test, i will try doing this when my time machine is ready
