Immaculate explanation on GG. Beautiful! I have been on two interviews where GG was a requirement. This was in Banks. Replication was their point of concern.
You can say that they are same.. Read this article for your best understanding: www.rittmanmead.com/blog/2013/02/goldengate-and-oracle-data-integrator-a-perfect-match-part-1/
Non-cluster (index & table) are like normal tables. For clustered tables and indexes, watch below video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Kwh8YFC3d60.html
My work is worst with the cloud. Vacations: Gone, Weekends: Gone, Early morning: Gone. Evenings: Gone. Business Hours: Meetings and Users. All that automation is BS. Middletier work could be reduced in the cloud with containers and kubernetes but I need vacation time to learn that stuff.
Hi Arun, Thanks soo much for ur insight, and i have this question for you My database scratch and in an attempt to recover it, it requested for an archive log that a week old. my question is....Why would a database request for an archive log that is a week old??
RMAN is designed for backup and recovery, a extension of the Enterprise Backup Utility (EBU). RMAN takes full, physical, consistent backups of your database files where as The export utility is a "logical" backup, usually done by specifying specific tables. If you fail to do a "consistent" export, or if you fail to include related tables and use RESTRICTED and CONSISTENT mode (with referential integrity constraints), you may not be able to recover properly. Export is often used as a supplement to RMAN, usually for the restore of specific tables. Advantages of RMAN: RMAN has block-level media recovery Has a catalog for backup tracking and a report utility Fast - If you dedicate a backup device for each production disk, you can backup terabytes in the time it takes to backup any single disk. Does hot or cold backups Backups and restores can be done in parallel Allows incremental backups (block change tracking)
Initially I was doing a Oracle DBA course for the job. Now one year completed with Oracle DBA experience. Now I want upgrade my skill. Now which course you would recommend me to do?
@@ahmedab7756 I did Oracle DBA and I'm not changing my field. Just trying to upgrade my skill from Oracle DBA to another technology like Oracle RAC, Oracle GG, Oracle DG, Oracle cloud etc etc
If you say you are a DBA, I already expect you to know Oracle Data Guard !! Apart from that, invest in Oracle Golden Gate and immediately switch to a job where you get a chance to work on Golden Gate. Meanwhile, also get Golden Gate certified!
