Because they have solid front axles which are free floating so require shocks to be placed diagonally from each other for stability.

It's not lifted. Its just a leveling kit in the front. Nothing cheap or stupid about it. Just adds some clearance in the front. Great thing about it is it keeps all the factory geometry from ford so the truck still drives half decent.
